  1. Thank you, will try this and feedback. Not an issue thats ocured before.
  2. Since recent update, the sustain pedal is causing the system to crash once material is recorded. On playback it just crashes. Initially I thought it was the 2nd keyboard I was using throu an interface, so checked with the maudio I normally use. Whenever the sustain pedal is used, it crashes on playback. Any ideas? Thanks
  3. Thanks Scook...that has sorted the problem! So I will save your post in case I forget. If I use higher sample rate in CfB then I can match the windows if needed. My guess is that in the update Windows 10 'saw' the interface and set it at the highest possible sample rate....without telling me!! Thank you again, you have saved me hours of research Jill
  4. I have a dedicated DAW and like you say, its optimised just for that
  5. Yes, I tried that but still wouldn't work. I will try the other suggestions and feedback later. Thanks Lynn
  6. Thank you. Will try it. I run Windows 10 64 bit quad core processor Focusrite pro 40 running at present at 44100 with focusrite drivers
  7. How do I set Windows to the same sample rate? (Sorry to be a bit dim on this) I have 44100 for Focusrite at present in Cakewalk THanks
  8. Thanks for reply. I use ASIO so this wouldn't apply? Have Focusrite pro 40 soundcard. Never used to have this problem. Maybe since last Windows update (not entirely sure)
  9. Used to be able to do this. I need to record a sound into Cakewalk to study it's frequencies etc. If I open you-tube on its own it plays fine. If I try to then open cakewalk the program doesn't start. If I open Cakewalk first then Youtube won't play. Help greatly appreciated.
  10. Quick edit to my post re VSL....have got rid of the release tails and actually I'm liking the sound now.
  11. Any thoughts on a good vibraphone software library for writing solo sections. One that can be used with sustain pedal to mimic vibes sustain and non-sustain, and has mallet selection (i.e. soft, hard). Have looked at quite a few. I already have VSL but not keen on the sound - have world impact vibraphone, kontact vibes, aria player vibes. Anyone got the following and any thoughts about which would be good for solo passages: Orange tree pure jazz vibes/ Soniccouture vibraphone/Cinematique vibraphone/Fluffy audio 'my vibes' (which I'm favouring at the moment), Art Vistas cool jazz vibes (which I've discounted for this project) Any more that may be any good? Often seems with sample libraries that none have quite all the things you want.... Thanks
  12. This works!!!!! Can't tell you how much difference this makes. Can keep the keyboard (which I really like) and both programs work together. Raising a virtual glass to you. Jill
  13. This is great, just what I needed, thanks so much! Will set it all up tomorrow and feed back (pardon the pun)!
  14. OK, have downloaded loopmidi and the archive one. the archive one when unzipped puts loads of stuff in folder an am unsure which one to click on...struggling with my ignorance on this.
  15. Thanks for the info will give it a go!
  16. Hopefully this question is OK to post in this section...it is related to inputing MIDI into CBBL Used to have a keyboard with both USB out and 5 pin DIN midi out. Connected via 5 pin to midisport...USB out from that to DAW Had to get a new keyboard which seems only to work via USB. Works fine until I try to open my notation program (Finale) at which point a message comes up saying the port is in use by another program. I believe that on a PC you can't port share. I know there are various software programs (loopback I think is one) that may help but I'm not sure I understand how to set it all up. So....in order to have two programs open at once and being able to input from MIDI keyboard does anyone either know of a workaround or a midi keyboard that can input via 5 Pin and USB at the same time. I have just got a keystation 61 (M audio) with 5 pin MIDI and USB, but they tell me I can't use both at the same time. Seems I can't use MIDI DIN either to work the DAW. Plugged in my old cheap miditech and it works fine through the 5 pin MIDI out. Windows 10 64 bit 32GB RAM Focusrite pro40 audio interface midisport midi interface Cakewalk by bandlab from Sonar Platinum
