  1. Pick up a few small things. I try to be selective and buy things I'll really use. I have two things in particular on my radar one of which I got today - AD2 Fairfax Vol2 ADPak - $44 and change. Next I'm waiting in my hunting blind for bluecat patchwork 3.x to go on sale.
  2. Oh ye of little faith. 😀
  3. Gosh Cakewalk became free just in time huh! Cat Food n' Cakewalk. Rock n' Roll!
  4. There is a band of retrieves called "Off our rocker". The logo is a silhouette of a older rock guitarist kicking over a rocking chair. Best after youth band name I've heard yet. May even been someone here or over at the old home place. I don't er.... bemember. I'm 57, my wife is 58. I'm still doing computer service but she who used to be my bestest partner in the IT business is now killin it in bookkeeping. I run a small CBD shop now too as computers for everyday use are falling out of fashion. Never did retail but oh, it's easy money. We're gonna do this stuff until we can't then probably move out of this frozen paradise to the desert southwest to retire. we bought our home in this resort town for 229k in 2000. my neighbors are selling them now for 3/4 mil. We figure there should be some flee money in this old shack. Heath just has to cooperate.
  5. Instead add a volume envelope to the track in question or the master bus and add nodes and fade out styles that a way.

    deleting markers

Try the menu selection Views, Markers and delete to your hearts content.
  9. Tonight I tried what the OP posted. I like it, it's pretty. I opened the marker view and started copy / pasting the midi marker names in making new marker markers as I went. It's all a bit fiddly to do but it's pretty, and makes navigation to different parts very easy.
  10. Yeah you would have thought the bakers would have seen the value of this and gave us a marker strip that is above or below the timeline. The shortcoming of this example is it will disappear as you scroll down far enough to hide strip 1 and it won't show up in the marker windows of the control panel which is how I navigate markers. But the select-a-section function is real cool so I'm going to have to try this. Hey bakers. We want this.
  11. I assume you mean for A/B ing. 1. Add a blank audio track 2. Select that track and move the now marker to where you want to import your audio 3. File import (.wav .mp3 etc)
  12. This can be caused by yes, a mono plugin on a stereo track or bus or both.
  13. I am successfully recording at 96k 24bit using a lowly ADA8000 to an RME 9632 card. If anyone is interested in more info I will expound. This was meant with meh elsewhere on the net. Even in low end theory.
  14. Confusing no, annoying yes. Right click prv notes select "use these note names instead" should stick for the midi track you were doing this on, such as the drums. I've read posts by Scook that state that one must go into preferences-> midi->instruments and assign a an output to an .ins but my drum synth isn't there and assigning the first hardware out to GM Drums doesn't make anything stick like it is stated it should. I probably have this all wrong, but it shouldn't be this tedious. Either to make it stick, which it doesn't ,or to continually have to "use these note names instead".
  15. Hanging synth note are not confined to cakewalk that's for sure. I run Blue Cat Patchwork standalone on a laptop for low latency monitoring and got a stuck note that required shutting down the laptop to make it STOP!!!!! I was holding a key down when I changed synths by clicking. - opps it didn't like that! 😀
  16. SCook, you cook! Thanks a million. AD2 works like I like now!
  17. Oh my my Scook! I couldn't find an example on youtube at all. only one for AD not AD2 I clicked everywhere except the ? which to my old brain said is just going to have help in it. But that's helpful so I shall try round 4 with that tonight. Thanks a ton!
  18. Thanks Robert. AFAIK, The AD2 synth standalone can be told to map to GM but not the VSTi which is the one I'm using exclusively. I have a support ticket about that into xln but the silence so far makes me believe I'm correct. And yes there are many articulations for various sounds some of which I have been looking for for ages. Like a stick on the rim, and a two stick "click in". I figured worse case I could sample them and use them in SD but I don't want to make a duct tape and wire kludge if I don't have to.
  19. I have been using the Session Drummer for years. My Alesis kit maps 1:1 to it and I now can enjoy the midi note names for my drum hits. I thought, due to the encouragement from various YouTube channels I should switch to AD2. - What a PITA in comparison. Because the AD2 vsti does not conform to GM drums, you have to use the fiddly drum mapper which is ok, but the end result was these little arrows for drum hits without my newly gifted note names. So after days of messing with it for days, I kicked AD2 to the curb and went back to SD just to get back to where I was. So: What's a contemporary drum synth that maps to GM today than y'all like better than SD? Or am I running down the wrong rabbit hole? TIA
  20. Nothing. But it's still something.
  21. Lock up your daughters. The boys are back.
