I just opened 8.0 on my win 7 32 bit laptop, went to the plug-in manager and at the very least there is a VST3 section so I would say yes.

Those of us who would like to get off the bus now with what we have now should be permitted to if we want. Even for some nominal flat sum or some such.  I completely agree.

I have Sonar Platinum which I will revert to as it's fine and dandy and I have oddles of image backups that I can dump onto a new ssd and rock on at the moment's notice without reinstalling one nibble from the "cloud" or otherwise.

The synththesizer V ARA instrument I use for vocals anymore will do a region effect on Cakewalk by Bandlab and even the new Sonar but not Sonar Plantinum for some odd reason though.

I'm venturing into the retirement world and a fixed income. I do not like to be extorted one bit and don't understand why there is not and exit for old koots like me when I'm just giddish about the daw I have and want nothing more, not even vector graphics.

Taxi: Verse could be stronger - needs a better bridge. - Gosh every thing but more cowbell.

Others: crickets..... They are either stunned because it's good or stunned because it sucks.

In the announcement text at the top of the thread, this is said: "If you wish to continue to use CbB"  - Do you mean "If you wish to continue to use CbB till death do us part? - That would make me and I suspect a lot of others very vary happy.

I dicovered I had the same problem just last night.

c:\program file\common files\vst3 is in the cakewalk search path as Bapu has shown and the missing plugins are there yet are not to be found in the cake plugin list no matter how many times I scan.

I agree that much more could be done to improve inter-project copying, and being a Cakewalk user myself, I'd love to see it happen.  However we're a small team, and it's a matter of juggling priorities.

Firstly, it's not save as track template but export as. - I thought I was stupider than I am.

Secondly, when I tried inserting the track template, the tracks appear then then cakewalk never returns from it's busy state.. over and over.

Using the latest Cake by Bandlab version. the source project is Huge but plays and the destination has 2 tracks one with a region effect that has a lot of work done to it. The region effect cant be edited in the big project due to load. 

This thread got me to thinking..... I'm old and don't want to have to worry whether or not the activation servers will "always" be there And new Sonars and Next are for the next gen (or else) . So I started up SPLAT and saw that it had the one feature I must have was there and that is the tempo extraction. Also noted that the synth rack was open by default. 

I think I go SPLAT. 

When editing midi in the piano roll, I deleted a note, then hit ctrl-z to bring it back. This undos the edit but not after a spinning circle of delay of about 3 to 5 seonds. - every time.

Thanks, I was under the hopeful assumtion a that the Cakewalk downloader tool was being spoken of in the context of an installer we could squirl away for later not just the installer stub that it is.

Where is the Cakewalk download tool spoke of in this thread?

I begrudgenly upgraded my windows 7 DAW to 10 because I was sure that one day Cakewalk would not install on Windows 7 because of Microsoft and thier OS killing redistributables.  That happened with XP,  when the redist would only run on Vista and above. 

Well that day never came. I could go back to 7 but that would be too painful.

I have a question and am sorry if it's been addressed already but, I updated my DAW to the lastest Cakewalk By Bandlab version. Everything went nicely and it opens and plays projects as expected.

However, baring unforseen events, I don't plan on starting it up again until mid summer 2024. What will happen activation wise? Nothing? Somthing? The old versions would want a activation refresh.

Well I just updated the rumpus room daw to the lastest Cakewalk.

Everything went swimingly and now am making an image backup of it all. 👍 

Havn't updated, expect I will have to someday.

It feels like something is terribly wrong like perhaps the health of a key baker or close loved ones. This would be enough to make the brass at Bandlab rethink things. The radio silence is telling and deafening.

The two times I paid "singers" to sing a song what I got back was on pitch but the timing and phrasing was changed. Like they are stupid or somthing. I was like, "I'm gonna kick your @$$"

Now I use SynthesizerV. It's a lot more work but at least I have total control.

I'm old so the CbB I do have is more DAW than I'll ever need.

I hope the final CbB will have a complete installer we can download of the latest and last that we can squirrel away for offline reinstall on some future date.
