  1. I hope Reaktor and it's user library survive the current NI business issues. I enjoy the value every couple of weeks when I look in the user library and dl a few new blocks to play with.
  2. Got my M4 from sweetwater yesterday. Very compact and solid with nice textured grippy knobs. It only came with a USB-A to USB-C cable. For a quick initial check I plugged the included cable into my mid 2012 macbook pro (still on High Sierra) with Reaper and it just works! Input/playback knob is going to be cool I can tell already. When I have a couple hours I'll get it set up on my newer lenovo yoga on windoze with Bandlab Cakewalk and use my pixel phone USB-C to USB-C cable. And I'll get something midi plugged in because I'm curious about that feel too. Is there not a misc equipment forum anymore?
  3. Good timing. I was about to pull the trigger on that Steinberg ur22mkII for my newish windows laptop but I just ordered the Motu 4x4 from Sweetwater. I had the 828mk2 for a good decade+ and when I built a new desktop this summer I replaced it with a motu ultralite mk4 and it has been just as hassle free as the 828. Hoping for the same on this box!
  4. So how should I play this situation after just getting into waves plugs this last year? Abbey Rd Chambers, SSL G Buss - out of WUP. 5 other single plugs in WUP Planning on buying Abbey Rd bundle this holiday. I'm thinking it would be nice to have everything at v11 and then I can sit on it forever as long as they work. Upgrade the 5 single plugs to v11, pay SSL G Buss WUP when I can get 25% off, buy Abbey Rd bundle on sale and not worry about the v10 Chambers I already have? Is there a smarter way to play the Abbey Rd bundle purchase?
  5. Waves Abbey Road bundle for cheaper than it's been lately. And an analog delay for my little phatty. Test driving a Boss dm-2w this weekend and looking at a Chase Bliss Tonal Recall on CL. Or trying to fix my EHX deluxe memory boy that is getting skitzy.
  6. I use MS Sync Toy for backing up files to a NAS. Free and easy and I'm pretty good about manually doing it every couple of weeks for my Cakewalk projects, Reaktor user libraries, Docs folder, etc. I'm looking at that Acronis too for my new PC and new laptop so thanks for the review link. I'm thinking I don't want all the background processes running either and periodically creating a backup image when everything is working good could save a heap of frustration if something catastrophic happens.
  7. If you used the standard cakewalk install I would suggest using your usb stick to copy everything inside your old c:\Cakewalk Projects folder and then copy all that into your new computer c:\ Cakewalk Projects folder. I just upgraded computers and I had all my cakewalk projects on a 2nd ssd drive already and did just pop the old drive into the new box, pointed Cake prefs for projects to that folder on the 2nd drive and it just works.
  8. Picked up L2. I used a cracked version for years on live 2 trk recordings (when I was younger and broker) but since I moved on from using cracked software I never really found anything as easy to use or had that sound. I'm looking forward to using L2 again with a different genre of music.
