  1. You get your activation key at Waldorf site under MyWaldorf/My Software. When you run the softsynth there should be small popup window where you enter your email & activation key. I usually use Savihost or Image Line's MiniHost to activate plugins - I just find it less of a headache than trying to activate in a DAW. After activation I'll then run the VST plugin scanner.
  2. Lol, great minds think alike. I used BeyondCompare by Scooter Software to compare the folder & copy the files over. Great tool, constantly using it for one thing or another. Looks similar in a number of ways to Directory Opus. Just glancing at the Director Opus' website Looks like Directory Opus is better with media data - images, MP3s, probably MP4s Licensing is per system where Beyond Compare's focus is different, I like the way it handles data & code files. You can compare folders & files based on a variety of methods - binary/hex/rules based comparison (great when comparing date from linex machines vs PCs) and filter options (full, only identical, only differences, only orphans, etc.) and even to limited degree directly edit & merge files. D.O. can probably do the same or similar. Licensing is per user.
  3. I copied my v1 presets %APPDATA%\WAProduction\Instachord\Presets to v2 %APPDATA%\WAProduction\Instachord 2\Presets was rather quick & painless, and now those presets show up in v2. I bought v1 but ended up never using it, intend on learning & using v2 so I'll need to set aside some time.
  4. Just a reminder that tomorrow is last day of Luftrum's sale.
  5. Same ^ I didn't feel like waiting for an additional discount was worth waiting for. Since my v1 was registered at WA I had no problems with purchasing the upgrade from WA or with authorizing it. I just had to log on to web site to unlock the upgrade offer.
  6. Paste the following in your Windows File Explorer %APPDATA%\WAProduction\Instachord 2\Presets
  7. Hmmm, if the Wavestate were 10x better that would be a good argument... The Wavestate video is OK but I'm not impressed with the quality/tonality of the demo tracks on Korg's website which is odd as I think the Korg plugins I own sound fantastic (really should try to use them more). Of course YMMV. Been debating whether or not to pick up the PPG... I already got more synths than I can use and need to start weeding out plugins to those that I will repeatedly use. But it seems to have all the qualities I like in a softsynth - tone, warmth, presence, etc. sigh - decisions, decisions...
  8. Orange Tree's group buy is the best time to make a purchase - period. I don't recall if they do a Black Friday discount but if they do please refer the previous sentence. Will the next group buy be in a year? 2? 5? don't know, I don't think there's ever been a schedule. The previous one was 4 releases prior maybe the next will adhere to that formula. >Is this a killer deal? All 2435 of us just really, really like Greg. He's cool.

  10. The time portal that Larry uses to get the word on upcoming deals (which he won from an alien in a hand of blackjack) malfunctioned and he found himself in 1962. He then became obsessed with buying what would be vintage guitars and stashing them in places he would be able to find in the current day (time portals tend to demagnetize guitar pickups, cause capacitors to explode, etc. and have limited space so not practical for transporting hardware). Unfortunately Larry forgot that today's money isn't the same as that used in 1962 and the FBI is actively after his keister seeking to ask a variety of questions and test their latest assortment of cattle prods and rubber truncheons. Understandably Larry would rather avoid connecting with these wannabie friends and being that they are between him and his portal his return has been slightly delayed. The only reason I know any of this is that I found a letter from Larry postmarked 1962 hidden among my mom's memorabilia - now I understand why my little brother doesn't look anything like my dad...

  12. I just checked... and they've raised the price $10 on each since yesterday. Wankers... Now $99 & $45 respectively.
  13. I can't run this on my Windows 98 machine that lives like a troll in my closet and hasn't seen the light of day this decade? I'm flabbergasted... Really curious though how many of us here actually still use XP.
  14. I respect your opinion, as they say different strokes for different folks. For anyone debating picking either up or one vs the other check out the fully functional trial versions that Softube has available. Best test is always trying something on your own material.
  15. I did and they referred me to the unlock sale happening this weekend. The current unlock prices are consistent with what their Black Friday prices have been over the last several years.
  16. I got the S73 thinking there would at some point be an upgrade path to the 1973; there isn't. This S73 isn't bad but it doesn't compare, if you need to tweak anything you're SOL. I mean if you have no understanding of how a compressor works and no interest in learning then it's probably your jam. Otherwise, either get the 1973 or save your money.
  17. And of course if you don't own premium gear worth modeling we'll sell you the one's we've created! Wonder if they'll allow model sharing... probably not as it would lessen the value of retail models offered.
  18. Apparently price is dependent on login? My price is $13.99
  19. I didn't know it was in the closet... I'll get my coat.
  20. Thanks for the info! Even though I have many trasher/saturation plugs if I recall correctly I regretted not picking this up last it went on sale. Will have to check it out.
  21. Enough. There I've said it. I'm not going down this path unless 8dio gives me a no or looow cost reason to abandon their Kontakt line and free up that disk space. Sure it has some nice demos but so do a lot of other libraries that I've not invested in.
  22. I've always used desktop folders and/or Fences to do that. Supposedly you can export Win 10 start menu groups into Win 11 https://www.thewindowsclub.com/import-export-fix-start-menu-layout-windows-10 but I haven't tried it. I do miss the Windows 10 toolbars. There are free apps in the store that people say can replace this functionality but haven't yet checked them out.
  23. It took a little while to get use to it but at this point I actually prefer the Win 11 version. They fixed the search function so when you search for something it searches for apps first, web options 2nd. Something I always considered badly broken in W10. You can still search through the program menus by clicking on the "All apps >" button at the top right. In regards with the right click menu not fully expanding - you can get the Win10 functionality by: Open an elevated CMD window. Copy the following command below and paste it in and then press Enter. reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve Log out of your account and log back in, you’ll find that the old right-click context menu is back, which displays the full list of options directly.
