  1. I think that the cultural thing definitely plays a part, but some are good enough to transcend that.

Loiue CK has his moments, his babies on planes routine is one that springs to mind, but I watched one of his shows on Netflix recently and it was a bit slow to say the least. Joe Rogan's "strange times" is pretty funny IMO and somewhere on YT there is a routine he does about how people think they're smart, but they're not really which is very good. Chris Rock can be good, I watched his latest show the other week and it was a bit slow to begin with, but once he gets into his stride it was good. Going back in time, Eddie Murphy's "Delirious" was pant wettingly funny.

Of the current UK crop I agree that Micky Flanagan is hard not to find funny and I also like Ricky Gervais, John Bishop, Jason Manford and away from the TV cheese Michael McIntryre is pretty good too, although I do get why some can't take to him. Frankie Boyle I can take for 20 minutes, but he becomes a bit boring IMO.  Eddie Izzard used to be great, but seems to have lost it once he lost the make up.

I agree that Stewart Lee is in a league of his own. However, it's not a league you'd want to be in.

One thing I really struggle to find funny is most female stand-ups. I did watch Katherine Ryan recently and she was pretty good, but most of them seem to base their acts on some kind of agenda and I find that tiresome, especially as it's usually the same agenda as all the others.  Nina Conti, the ventriloquist,  is funny, but I've never seen more than a 10/15 minute slot, so I don't know if it would still be funny after an hour or so.

paulo, the disk size is shown in features against each individual library.

I quickly totted them up for you as 27Gb in total for the bundle...

    Normal & Strum
    Nylon Gtr 3Gb & 2Gb
    Acoust Gtr 3Gb & 2Gb
    LP 5Gb & 4Gb
    TC 4Gb & 4Gb

    Total = 27 Gb

Think I need a quick tutorial on this new forum as I hit quote on your post but your post didn't get quoted in mine!?!

    How does that work?

Thanks. I was looking at the bundled products and that info doesn't appear there.

I just click on the orange "quote" and it seems to work.

  3. Does anyone know how much room is required to install the total guitar bundle? (or roughly what each guitar takes up)

They do sound nice, but there seems to very little info on his website, which is a concern to me as is the lack of any kind of demo.

I really like UJAM VG Silk but it doesn't work properly in CbB/Sonar. It either crackles when loaded as a normal VSTi or works for a while and then stops outputting audio when loaded via Jbridge (a workaround which somebody else pointed out). I had started recording VG-Silk parts in Studio One (where it works fine) and then exporting to audio for import into CbB but TBH it's a bit of a nuisance!

I don't have that problem at all in Platinum (last version) - it works just fine,  so might be something to do with your set up.

I'm afraid we have an imposter here folks. This guy is too funny to be the real Bapu.

  6. I quite like the distinction.

One is for no nonsense straightforward answers if you actually know the answer No discussion required. You either know the answer or you don't.  I think of it as the scook section.  Saves wading through pages of conjecture when all you want is a simple answer.

The other is more of a  discussion/suggestion/opinion place for those who choose to participate in that.

  7. In the songs forum when people show the link to their song as the bandlab version of the soundcloud type player are they supposed to work right there in the post like YT videos do?

I can only access them by  clicking where it says bandlab which takes me to another page or is that how it's meant to work and what looks like a player is just a regular link by way of an image?

  8. I have S1 Pro 3 but never use it because I  don't like looking at it.

Tried Reaper, Samplitude X3 and Mixcraft.  None of them made me want to change.  The menus in Reaper are too are messy, Mixcraft  just seemed like a kids toy version -of a DAW to me.  I was hoping Samplitude 4 would bring an updated UI and then I might have been tempted, but that didn't happen.

Had a version of Cubase years ago and the customer service was dreadful, so I wouldn't go there again.

Bitwig/Ableton/FL have no appeal to me.

If Logic was available to PC users I think that might be tempting.

For the "industry standard" Pro Tools seems to be quite some way behind the curve at times and seeing as I'm never likely to be in the industry not having it is not a hindrance to me.

Ya I find HUGE signatures with giant pictures large fonts and boring details of what Power supply someone owns really trash the reading experience on the forum. To the point that I have often blocked those members so I don't see those HUGE signatures. Some were like self promo adverts.

What might be a cool add on to the forum is that there is just a link at the bottom which opens a sub page with all our details and photos. Really do we need to know anything about our computers anymore? I think we are well past worrying about computer specs these days.

Yeah, some of them are a bit "look at me" for sure, but as I've just discovered the hide signature button then I guess it's not really a problem as such.

  10. Sometimes it is useful to know what timezone somebody is in as it can give some indication if they might reply any time soon or are already tucked up in bed and dreaming of fluffy bunnies, but I think it should be user optional as to whether it is displayed or not rather than as a default.
