  1. It seems to be on this list: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eiVH_I1clbbRtWFh4-3Mo7HANjCxR8SwqHJtYXy19gw/pub
  2. I used to keep altering a misleading Wiki page which left out a very key event in a certain Victorian's life, and someone kept altering it back to suppress the facts. We played ping pong for a while then I gave up. I'm sure the other party was a descendant of the Victorian person in the entry who wished to whitewash their legacy. An example of how and why Wiki can be abused and be unreliable.
  3. Lou Reed. Marianne Faithfull. I can name many others who can't sing for toffees, some who virtually 'talk' instead. What they all have in common though is that they understood that, but still wanted to express themselves musically. So they worked on sculpting what noises they could make into being 'quirky' and making songs and music that suited that matched their limited warbling abilities. I played in bands for years and always got shirty with individuals I felt could sing, say, backing vocals, but claimed "I can't sing." This was almost always code for "I don't want to embarrass myself" and "I can't be bothered to try". I would then go on to give them a few tips and force them to darn well contribute, like others in the band. Capitalise on what you can do, and do it with verve and commitment. That will come through in the delivery and be picked up by the listener, who isn't expecting Pararotti - it's pop/rock and almost anything goes. If, however, you sing reticently, that will also be picked up by the listener and they'll be distracted from the lyrics and won't want to stay with it.
  4. I can't hear anything 'dirty' or 'gritty' in this snippet. 🀫 As for EQ, how I would adjust it would depend entirely on the context of the vocal.
  5. Thanks Joad. Yes, a Hammond B3, but courtesy of SampleTank3! Cheers Steve, much appreciated!
  6. Good article. I just added my 2p's worth in the discussion.
  7. Nice work guys! I love this. Yes, a bit of Beatles, Badfinger and I was also reminded of The Idle Race. (Or as they say in Brum where they hail from, 'The Oidle Royce'). Superbly arranged, produced and engineered. Well, darn top drawer all round really. 😎
  8. Wow, what a great version. Love the vocals, what a timbre and vibrato!! Love the guitar sounds. Superbly engineered and produced. πŸ†
  9. Many, many thanks guys for the kind comments. It makes all the effort worthwhile! 😊 John
  10. Why doesn't Celemony post a change/fixes log with their updates? If they do, I can never find one. And I never get emails notifying me they have published an update.
  11. Thanks guys, much appreciated.
  12. YouTube video (How do I embed here?) Lyrics and technical data Cheers John
  13. Many thanks Noel and to the team, all your work is much appreciated. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘β˜ΊοΈ
  14. YouTube link. Soundcloud link Technical details on the recording, etc. I hope you enjoy it! Happy Bank Holiday Monday!
  15. 🀬 Sadly, on my sessions with CW today the old problem reappeared, i.e. Melodyne not remembering the default algorithm so I have to select Melodic every time I open it to work on a clip. Very bizarre how it ramdomly 'fixes' itself and then unfixes itself. πŸ‘»
  16. It's not often that something becomes unexpectedly unbroken! πŸ₯‚ (Noel B. : can you throw any light on this minor miracle?)
  17. 4.2 is working for me today, i.e. it remembers my default algorithm, melodic. I don't know if it's a temporary thing, or something to do with a W10 update or whether the bakers fixed something in the last CW release, but usually the behaviour on my set up was that Melodyne would use the default algorithm when first invoked in a new CW session but when I used it subsequently in that session I had to select the algorithm manually. Today all seems to be working as it should. I'm not getting excited yet, let's see what tomorrow brings first!
  18. Lexicon Pantheon reverb. I somehow managed to keep it in Platinum and Cakewalk bBL but I can't remember how. Despite having loads of expensive reverbs, e.g. Fabfilter, I still keep going back to the old fashioned Pantheon.
  19. 'Quickness' is not necessarily the midwife of creativity, rather it's a function of the age we live in. If only the great painters could have knocked up masterpieces in minutes rather than months or even years, think of all the extra wonders we would now have. 😡 πŸ˜‰
  20. Looks like a silly novelty to me. Another company assuming that EDM and rap are the only genres worth pandering to. Obviously 'sticking to the knitting', i.e. making an AD3 and/or adding more patterns and fill packs to AD2, isn't seen as profitable enough.
  21. https://www.gearnews.com/addictive-drums-creator-readies-xo-random-beatmaker-pattern-generator/ Looks about as much use to me as a chocolate teapot. Due to launch tomorrow (I refuse to say 'drops'...) at 180$/Euros.
  22. I just ran the update, checked my products and it says my Nectar 3 is not authorised! I tried to re-authorise but it failed. I've emailed Ozone support.
