  1. Izotope Vocalsynth is pretty close. I have version 1 but at this point haven't gone to 2 yet. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/VocalSynth2--izotope-vocalsynth-2-vocal-multi-effects-plug-in 😉John B
  2. Does kinda make you wonder, doesn't it? They must have expected some backlash but just not as overwhelming as it was. Their Facebook page was loaded to the hilt with negativity and just raw hatred. Maybe after things have calmed down who knows what they may try again. This whole thing makes me think back fondly to the days when you could just buy, install and run software and didn't have to be at the mercy of the vendor as to how you use it. I could understand them not wanting the piracy and copying but they have gotten to the point where they have gone too far with their control. This is a good example. 😀John B
  3. Good song but as said, the vocal track is a bit dicey. 🙂John B
  4. I like it. It has an infectious rhythm pattern and I really enjoy the effect on the trumpet. 😀John B
  5. About 11:30 this morning I got a call from Mark Brun of Sweetwater who gave me the new that Waves had reversed course, then I saw their announcement. I'm good with that but I did buy alternative to my 2 most used Waves PIs. I bought the Purified SLP 538 EQ to replace the SSL E Channel and the Brainworx BX Townhouse Bus Compressor to replace the Waves SSL Bus Comp. I got them both on special. For a short time after Mark told me the news, I though "I wish I would've known they were going to do this. I wouldn't bought those", but maybe it wasn't a bad decision after all. Like some of you are saying, maybe we should all be a bit leery of Wave after this move. At the very least, I don't think I will be buying anything more from them. I guess we're good for now but who knows what the future will bring. 😉John B
  6. @DeeringAmpsThanks so much, Tom. 😀John B
  7. I've been using them for 7 years. Just trying to help.😀
  8. You are not risking anything by updating the Waves Central. I got into it yesterday and today. If you click the "Licenses" tab it brings you to your current licenses. If you click "Learn More" on each it will give you info on how to go about retrieving your license, downloading and installing your current version (if you need to). Some of the versions below 14 need to use the offline installer. 😀JB
  9. The Purified SLP 538 EQ looks like a great alternative to the Waves SSL E Channel. Think I'll look into it. It's on special for $19.99 USD. 😀JB
  10. Smart man!😀 Had I known 6 years ago that they would someday pull this garbage I would've done the same thing. 🙂
  11. This wasn't a mistake on their part. They knew exactly what they were doing and expected the backlash. What they want is to lose the "Home Recordist" market and just serve the pros. The pros can afford $300.00 a month. "Bedroom engineers" can't. I checked the comparison chart between the two plans. Only one of the current plugins I own would be in the $14.99 plan. The rest would be in the $24.99 plan. No way can I do that. I wouldn't be so offended if they would just let us continue to UPDATE what we have. 🤨John B
  12. Just checked the Sweetwater website. This afternoon they still carried Waves plugins. Now they're all empty pages. I despise them (Waves) now. I personally hope they lose so much business that they go belly up. This has to be one of the most underhanded business decisions I've ever seen a company do. It actually makes me question whether I want to continue making music like this. I'm just a hobbyist. I can't afford $300.00 a year for a damned subscription for anything! I know some of you will say that there are alternatives. Yes, there certainly are plenty of alternatives but I put HUNDREDS of dollars into what I have from them over the years and to realize that they may become useless soon. When that happens I'm done. I've had enough. It's not worth the frustration anymore. If they can do this, who knows what's next? I quit the whole damned thing! 😠
  13. Hopefully they realize the mistake they made doing this and re open the perpetual license option again before what we have becomes useless. Even if they do I'll never buy another plugin from them EVER! BTW-Sweetwater is still selling their perpetual licenses. Maybe just because it's Sunday. I'll have to check with them tomorrow first thing. 🙂JB
  14. $15.00 a month! They can stick THAT where the sun don't shine! 😠
  15. S'Ok. Just needed a quick answer and you gave it to me. Thanks! 😀John B
  16. This morning I got an email from Waves with the subject "Your Waves Coupon". It told me that I had a plugin registered but I just needed to activate it. I went ahead and installed it and discovered it is a I/O software of some kind. I'm suspecting it's related to an interface which I don't have. I have a Scarlett 6i6 and that has been my interface for 6 years. Do I need this new DiGi for some reason? I had it on but took it off because I don't want any conflict between the Focusrite drivers and those. There was also listed a Yamaha DiGi D Driver but I didn't put that on. Any answers to help me make sense of this mystery? 😀John B
  17. 8:29 AM DST. I got into my account. Did anybody take notice of the discrepancy in MONDAY March 26? Today (Sunday) is March 26. So are they talking Sunday, March 26 or perhaps Monday the 27th? 😀John B
  18. I think somebody is spreading disinformation. Nothing on Waves website. They are promoting and selling and having specials of all kinds there. We'll find out in a few short hours but it looks to me like a disinformation campaign. Somebody's trying to get you guys riled up for some reason. I'll believe it when I see it. But if it is true I'm done with Waves FOREVER. SMH John B
  19. I was confused. I could've sworn I reviewed this song but could not find it on this thread. You added vocals "Sunrise Funk" Now it sounds complete. Great job! 😀John B

    Breaking Away

This is beautiful Andy. 70s hit material for sure. You must've come from the same era as I did (or at least enjoy that kind of music). Sounds real good. Nice job on the restoration. 😀John B
  21. You should get some interest but probably not as much as you'd think, then you'll have to pay tax on that.🤨 😀John B
  22. Next time buy from Sweetwater. FREE tech support never ends. 😉John B
  23. You know what? I tend to agree. 😉 🙂John B
  24. @AndyB01Thank you so much, Andy! 😀John B
  25. I got sick of it so this year I stopped withholding. I'll withhold in my own bank account and send them a check at tax time. Better than waiting for them to get their s**t together. 😀
