  1. If a Sonar Theme Editor actually turns up in some distant future, my guess is that it will be at best a paint-by-numbers coloring app. As for modifying icons, not so much.
  2. Vector graphics works even with that setting disabled, but, to be honest, I have no idea what intended use that Preference setting has.
  3. The solution to get Psyn II to display in Sonar is to disable Enhanced Display Scaling in Edit > Preferences > Customization > Display | Enhanced Display Scaling (requires restart). I’ve seen other display issues that can be resolved by not having this option enabled, but that’s a discussion for the Beta forum.
  4. But only one iLok activation. That’s puny.
  5. So, here’s my plan. I will lean back in my chair until Sonar is released and the question whether it will be possible to buy a permanent license, or if Sonar only will be available through a BSP membership, has finally been decided. I have always stayed away from software subscriptions (ask Adobe) and intend to do so in the future as well. As for the BSP package, I’m only interested in Sonar. While waiting, I’ll keep using CbB as long as it runs. If CbB stops working before any such decision has been made, I have both Cubase and Studio One installed on my computer. Also, I have SONAR Platinum installed, so I will be able to open my unfinished Cakewalk projects reasonably well. In a worst-case scenario, I certainly won’t change DAW lightheartedly. I’ve always loved Cakewalk, but I will move on if the only option is a BandLab membership.
  6. Sorry, it's from the beta. I later reported this in the proper place.
  7. I wouldn’t click on that link; using http in 2024? Really? Obviously, someone is trying to masquerade as everyplugin.com.
  8. One way to keep old SONAR and new Sonar apart is to use proper capitalization. Old SONAR was always spelt in all upper case, but the new Sonar is not. If everyone adheres to these simple rules, keeping them apart will be simpler.
  9. I don’t know about Synthesizer V, but if it requires ARA 2, SONAR Platinum won’t work. SONAR Platinum only supports ARA, not ARA 2. I think ARA 2 support was introduced in CbB 2019.5.
  10. I am. However, I don't think this thread should be littered with personal reflections. The S/N ratio can deteriorate rapidly. That's why I didn't post anything in reply to your strange thumbs down, and only gave you a thumbs down in reply. But as you keep going on; the point of my message was to say that designing a user interface is always a balance between different important goals. Of course a bigger icon is easier to read that a small icon. Nobody can deny that. But the effect such changes have on other factors - in this case the number of characters that actually fit inside the text box - must be taken into account. Hence, I felt a need to agree, and disagree. How you could give me a thumbs down for that, I still can't understand. But hey.
  11. Sure, but the problem here is that the larger icons in Sonar occupies more space. Simply changing the colour of the background square from gray to white would have increased legitibility, while the space available for text wouldn't have decreased. Also, the padding has increased for some unknown reason, making the space available for text even smaller. And to top it all off, the font size has increased, which is the third reason so little space is left for the actual text.
  12. That's a common misconception. Vector graphics can be as ”un-flat” as a bitmapped image. You can have gradients, shades and what-not in a SVG file, just as you can in a bitmapped PNG, JPG, TIF or BMP file. If the forum software had allowed for SVG images to be pasted into a post, or at least be visible when linked from another site, I could have showed an example of that. But it doesn’t.
  13. Unless you’ve already noticed, there are 7 Color Schemes available in Edit > Preferences > Customization | UI. Maybe some of them suits you better than the default Dark scheme?
  14. Bapu, that's your cue.
  15. So the age of clickbait titles has finally reached this forum as well? I though for a second I'd come to YouTube. Just ran a manual plugin scan in SONAR Platinum x64 and it worked perfectly fine. It picked up all my last purchases. Boring, I know.
  16. I think it did pretty well for something that's almost 30 years old, but YMMV. Anyway, here's the result as a raw mp3.
  17. Interesting comparison. I even downloaded the same MIDI file from freemidi.org and recorded it through my Roland SC-88 Pro so I could compare my old faithful to the others.
  18. Skaka has been on my watchlist for a while, but now it’s in da proverbial house.
  19. Just in time for 2023? Really?
  20. Addictive Drums 22.3.6 (Feb 26, 2024) Fixed bug in nested drop-down menus. Re-added drum maps for Millenium e-drum kits. Addictive Drums 22.3.5 (Feb 6, 2024) Updated AD2 to the newest version of our platform Fixed an issue related to modifier keys on macOS Fixed an bug related filesystem access Many performance improvements and small bug fixes
  21. No, a lifetime key*) to Roland Sound Canvas VA can be bought for $69, e.g. from JRR Shop. I don't have that plugin myself, as I have a Roland SoundCanvas SC-88 Pro standing on my desk, but would that one go up in smoke, I'd probably buy it. How else would I be able to listen to all the unfinished material I have from the last century? And although I do have TTS-1 since SONAR X1, is not for me. *) Make of that what you will.
  22. Sweet. And now it dawns on me why it’s called Aurora. See the similarity to the word Austrian?
