I know that there's a Massive X, which is the next generation, but hey, in terms of resource usage, give me the synth designed to run on systems that were state of the art 15 years ago.
Massive X is not an evolution from Massive into a Massive 2, as it probably should have been. Rather, it is a whole new beast, and it's one of my least favorite new synths. And it is a bit harder on resources.
I cannot fathom why NI thought Massive X was a good idea?
And it was released years before it was finished. They finally added some features this year, including an updated browser, that should have been in the initial release. And there is still no parameter automation beyond the macro controls. No user wavetable import. And no user ability to create and organize preset folders. Even 3rd party preset packs get dumped in the "User" folder without even using sub-folders. WTH?
The Massive X fans just point at how great it sounds. Yes, that's quite important, but so is usability! I do like the large UI, but wish NI had spent the effort instead on upgrading the original Massive!

Even though I've never smoked anything
So you are just relying on hearsay and dubious research, rather than first hand experience for your observations that nicotine is not addictive? Ha!
What do you think those nicotine receptors do when you suddenly deprive them of nicotine? 🙄

Tip 3 - "Aids" to help you quit are idiotic at best (like nicotine chewing gum). In other words, if nicotine was truly addictive biologically, why wouldn't you just get hooked on the gum??? Yet, you don't.
^^^ I agree with everything stated, except for this.
I was a heavy smoker for 20 years. After several cold turkey attempts, some that lasted over a year followed by relapse, it was nicotine gum that finally helped me kick the smoking habit for good! I actually did get addicted to the gum, but then I used regular chewing gum to replace that at the final stages.
Cold turkey: First real attempt, I rode my bicycle for 3 days and drank a lot of water. That sucked, but worked. It gets better after 3 days... and that time it lasted a year.
Patch: I didn't like the constant nicotine dose provided by the patch. I found that I was able to go without nicotine at times, and only wanted nicotine when the sudden cravings hit me. So my preference was for the gum, which I could use only as needed. Kept it in my pocket, so basically with that method I was approaching it more like cold turkey, & just used the gum in case of emergency instead of bumming a smoke. Eventually I used the gum less and less, and the bonus with that is I had long ago broken the psychological connection with the social ritual of lighting up.
Funny: I once had a roommate that quit tobacco by smoking a doobie every time he had the urge to smoke a cigarette. He stayed buzzed all of the time but it worked for him! YMMV!

The cool thing about Indiginus, the "full" prices usually run about $59, so still quite affordable. I just checked and already had the Renaxxance Nylon String Guitar in my shopping list. https://www.indiginus.com/renaxxance-nylon-string-guitar
That banjo sounds excellent though, and since there's no way I could ever play one correctly it looks like Tracy has made the banjo as effortless as the fiddle!

Yep- Agree with @abacab Also- He does a small discount on intro and that is it. His pricing is more than fair. Any releases I passed up at release I wound up buying later, so I am sure to pull the trigger shortly. Maybe Tracy will release a free The Jug VST for Christmas and get a little front porch quartet going along with The Banjo, The Fiddle, and The Resonator.
Already have the Resonator, Fiddle, and Steel. Might as well add the Banjo!

Tracy Collins from Indiginus is one of the best stringed instrument samplists that I know of, and an all around nice guy. I would put him up there with Greg Schlaepfer of Orange Tree Samples.
Indiginus libraries are much more affordable however, because Tracy doesn't have to pay Native Instruments for Kontakt Player compatibility. Full Kontakt required.
Here is a livestream interview that Simeon Amburgey did with Tracy Collins last year. They covered his latest plus a lot of details about his background and company:

Do folks really use everything in the KCE? If so, what's the main attraction over and above the Standard edition?

I think must of us have already Massive and Ozone Elements.
There is also a Novation wav soundbank available.
Not everyone owns Komplete, so Massive might be new for them!

So to upgrade from KOMPLETE 13 to 14 is €199 which includes Kontakt 7 .. While to upgrade to just Kontakt 7 is €99 .... mmmmmm
All depends on what you are interested in. Take look at the new content.
I got a deal on Komplete 13 last year and have left half of it uninstalled. Just wanted a few of the instruments. Don't see anything except for K7 that I care for in Komplete 14.

Very easy - click on the gear icon on the bottom left of the thumbnail view, and select the folder you want to add.
Sounds about perfect! Will patiently wait for a sale on the K7 upgrades!
As was previously described, having to crawl through the K6 crud to find anything is a pain.

I didn't mention the abitlity to 'favorite' presets in the thumbnail view, which is a very nice little detail - especially when you've got a lot of non-Player libraries with complex folder and patch structures.
How easy is it to include non-Player libraries in the new browser view?

So is Bitwig going to follow the PreSonus model or the Ableton model? Totally unclear and understand if this results in ticked-off users!

If you mean non-DAW, Voltage Modular's Plug-In Host modules (part of VM's Core Bundle) can also be used to host many 64-bit VST Instruments, including the SI series.
I believe he was just asking for plugin instruments, not hosts.

Thanks to all who tried to help, by my intention was on a free cakewalk VST instrument which can be used externally, like a synth or maybe a rompler.
Hi, the included Cakewalk SI Suite instruments previously mentioned are VST plugins that can be used with any DAW host.
But they are very basic, so that is why the forum thread for freeware instruments was created. Most of them are better than the Cakewalk bundled ones, and suggest looking there.
Cakewalk has not bundled any premium instruments since it was a paid product back in the Gibson/Sonar days. BandLab re-released Cakewalk as a free DAW, but you need to bring your own instruments.

day 17 of cold turkey nicotine withdrawal

Well your opinion on nicotine addiction is clearly based on "fringe science", and not backed by mainstream science or the majority of doctors.
