  1. That "Speed Issue" thing seems to be a hit or miss solution for some recent issues. Some have a .rtf file download that works, while some others have an empty zip file or nothing at all. Issue 277 and before seems OK, at least for the 5 or 6 that I glanced at.
  2. AFAIK, the videos are all gone for the CM back issues, except for the most recent two issues. And I do have a current subscription to CM. Since there is no way for me to login to FileSilo now, I would say that they are likely gone for everyone! I went back a few months to check and all I saw was "No Download". However the CM Plugins Suite, the tutorial files, and the free samples all seem to still be available (for everyone).
  3. I just tried to download "VIDEO Synth Masterclass - Laser Harp" (CM 314, current issue Nov 2022) and it worked! The "New CM Plugins Suite PC Instruments" from a previous issue also downloaded fine. Edit: They seem to have pulled the video tutorials for the back issues, except for the current issue, and the previous issue (313 & 314). As far as I can tell the CM Plugins are still available. Except for the one time freebie plugins that have usually been time limited, so I would expect some of them to disappear. Tutorial files and free samples seem to be still available for back issues.
  4. That's a cool idea, adding it to an instrument! Retrospective record has been a DAW feature for years, but one is not always jamming and noodling on their VI with their DAW open.
  5. One neat trick you can do with the full SynthMaster 2 is to drag and drop your own samples or wavetables directly into the SM2 oscillator windows in the edit mode. Start with a favorite preset and import your own sounds! No programming required!
  6. Well you could always try begging... never know, they might toss you a sound pack!
  7. I haven't heard anything about MS changing their driver model for Windows 11. But I wouldn't put it past them to tighten up driver signing rules. Is the driver signed by KORG, and if not have you looked into bypassing driver signing?
  8. Indeed! I have these delays from your list: Surreal Machines Diffuse MSpectralDelay A|A|S Objeq Delay T-Racks Tape Echo ValhallaFreqEcho Glitchmachines Hysteresis (it's joy for tempo-sync'd utter weirdness) And I also have: Waves H-Delay Waves SuperTap Metric Halo Dirty Delay PSP cmDelay (Computer Music) Stardust 201 Tape Echo (Cherry Audio) T-RackS Space Delay Softube Tube Delay Eventide UltraTap ðŸĪŠ PS: didn't mention the kHs delays here, as that seems obvious in this thread. 👍
  9. That's exactly the sort of speculation that got the other threads locked. Off-limits! It can lead to personal attacks (blame) on other forum users... You can always use the forum search to locate the locked threads. AFAIK the threads were not deleted, but some posts may have been.
  10. Probably best to just let it go for now, because the mods are likely to lock this thread as off-topic. They have already locked a couple of similar threads discussing Larry's whereabouts. Just saying... 🙄
  11. Larry's alive. Other forum members have reported seeing him post online elsewhere. A forum mod here stated that Larry is free to return at any time, so it's his choice. Time to move on, I suppose.
  12. If your plugin purchases were made reasonably close to the time they released them for free, Kilohearts will probably work with you on a "grace period". For me it worked out to a few months difference...
  13. FYI, you will at least need the free demo of the full SynthMaster 2 to follow that tutorial. This Player edition does not allow preset editing.
  14. UJAM guitars are available as 30 day demos, so free to look! YMMV! 😜 Here is UTuber Creative Sauce's take on them...
  15. I'm a SM fan, I admit. Have the SM "Everything" bundle, and patiently waiting for SM 3 ... and it's only going to be a $35 upgrade from SM 2 (free for "Everything" owners). SM is an often overlooked synth. SM 3 is going to be a beast!
  16. Using the SM Player as a step up is a great point, and is basically what got me into the SynthMaster ecosystem. But don't overlook the fact that SM Player could be all that you need if you are not really into synth programming. It's not as crippled as some players, such as those from Applied Acoustic Systems, for example. Nothing wrong with a synth "ROMpler" with 2,000 presets and a great browser! The usual free SM Player only includes 500 presets.
  17. That's a worthwhile addition to have, especially for free! This is the full $29 Player edition with 2,000 factory presets, not the stripped down always free edition. It's great for anyone who prefers to only use presets, as it has limited editing capability. But it has 8 macro knobs to adjust the sound in each preset that can be linked to your controller in a similar way as with Analog Lab from Arturia. Plus you can purchase expansion bank add-ons as desired.
  18. CW is the same for me at times. I think of it as "muscle memory". But I try to keep digging away at SO though, as it offers a lot and I already have it, and intend for it to become my #1. I also have Reaper, mainly because I have one plugin that only handles MIDI out correctly in Reaper. Go figure!!! And I also found a theme [ECHOLOT] that somewhat resembles Cakewalk, so that helps a lot with any issues I may have with the stock Reaper theme... ðŸĪŠ And I find Ableton Live fun to keep around for experiments. I don't see it as a conventional DAW and it doesn't duplicate one in many ways, but rather makes a good complement to your main DAW for creative inspiration, especially for electronic musicians . Even guitar players might become fascinated with live looping their guitar tracks, and/or using a Live session for triggering backing tracks with loops while improvising. I have had a full version of Live 5 since 2006 that came bundled with an M-Audio keyboard, and I had not bothered upgrading it. But in 2018 Ableton sent me a "special offer" (same price as 12 years earlier) to upgrade for cheap to Live 9 Standard, with an entitlement for Live 10 when released. That sucked me back in. What can I say, sucker for a great deal! Ableton deserves credit for valuing their existing customers, which is an example many other (unnamed) companies should follow!

  21. Same here, as I went looking for a new DAW when Gibson dropped Cakewalk. Ended up with a crossgrade to Studio One Pro, as that Cubase dongle was a showstopper for me. I did the trial of Cubase Elements without the dongle, and it would have been fine for me if I could have had the full version without the dongle as well. Oh well, too late! Not going to switch again!
  22. FYI: v6.68 is the current Reaper version. 😉
