Well, so far as I can tell, the Solo presets already worked within the ProChannel version of REmatrix.  There was no need to download them so far as I can see.

The thing is, back when all the REmatrix Solo to REmatrix Player migration efforts took place, everyone thought Cakewalk was ending and that they needed to find another brand of DAW to use. So Overloud packed the Solo library up as a licensed option for REmatrix Player so they could take it along with them to their new DAWs.

Nobody had any idea at that time that BandLab would step in and continue with Cakewalk. But since BandLab was able to keep Cakewalk and ProChannel REmatrix Solo alive, the Player wasn't really necessary anymore, although the Solo download is available for those with an activation code and a desire to recover the download for the Player. That's about all there is to it... ;)

Did part of the procedure involve buying them for use with the Player?  I didn't get that impression from that page.  Does anyone know?

Overloud made a time-limited offer in 2017 for Sonar Platinum users to apply for unlock codes to the previously bundled Overloud products (ended 1/12/18). If you sent them a screenshot of your Sonar serial they would email you the unlock codes. That's how I got mine, I didn't "buy" anything.

"Please note that REmatrix Solo will be delivered as a REmatrix Library.
In fact the Cakewalk REmatrix Solo was a ProChannel module, which is a Cakewalk proprietary format, so it cannot be opened into other DAWs "as is".
So, we decided to pack the REmatrix Solo content (i.e. all the IRs and presets) into a REmatrix library that you can use within the free REmatrix Player. REmatrix Player, by the way, is a richer version if compared to REmatrix Solo.
The installation instructions are provided in the email messages we are sending now."

I hope they have/are bringing him some recompense...

Craig has been very active with PreSonus since he and Gibson parted ways. Continuing his tradition with Studio One contributions such as tips and a few books... :)

I just visited and still found nothing, but on another tack, I found a PRODUCT on the Presonus page which is for a purchase of Anderton's IRs...

Those would probably work, as they include 128 WAV files, 44.1 kHz/24-bit.

And there are more flavors here. I only have 73 items in my original Anderton Synthetic Impulse Responses folder.

Does having Novum make Abyss redundant?

No, they are quite different. Try the demos...

Abyss is a synth. It appears to be based on FM.

Novum is a sampler with a granular synthesis engine.

  6. Yay!!! Waves has put the online installers for v12 back into Waves Central in this latest update!!! :)

No more offline installer required for them. So I assume v13 would be there as well if I had any of those, which I don't.

Everything Waves that I have here now is either v12 or v14, except for one v9 plugin. Not sure how far back Waves Central goes version wise now, as that v9 plugin shows offline install method only. I don't have any v10 or v11 plugins to check.

  7. I have tried the demos for both Abyss and Novum.

I'll pass on Abyss, but I'm still waiting for a great deal on Novum... It's a one-trick pony as well (mostly granular pads), but a very special trick indeed! ;)

Interesting... but I couldn't find any links to download these. so I guess I will forever be forgetful of what they sounded like...

Look in your user folder. You may find that you already have them, like I did. ;)

The file names stand out, as they have a different naming scheme from the NYC Showroom IRs that all begin with "BigRoom*****" or SmallRoom*****".

The IRs in the Anderton set all start with a number (in msec) or the letter "R"  (for reverse) followed by the number.

After a lot of trial and error I've come up with this step by step sequence:

    1. Open an 'Empty Project'

    2. Insert 'Synth of choice' with midi source and first synth audio output.

    3. Insert 'Blue Arp' with midi source and first synth audio output.

A more straightforward method to use after step 3 above:

    4. Set MIDI input on "Synth of choice" track to BlueARP. (If you do not see that option make sure that "enable MIDI output" is selected in the VST dropdown in the BlueARP plugin window.)

    5. Set MIDI input on the BlueARP track to your controller, or just add MIDI notes to this track. (All notes entered on this track will trigger the BlueARP, and any MIDI notes generated by BlueARP will route to "Synth of choice".)

    6. Enable "Input Echo" on both tracks. (Not required on the BlueARP track if you are just playing back MIDI notes from that track, in which case only the "Synth of choice" needs "Input Echo" enabled.)

Then play your controller for a real-time arp, or start playback on the Cakewalk transport to use the MIDI notes you have entered.

That was the missing bit. It's a PC plugin! I found it and whether it already had these or found them because they were correctly installed, but the NYC impulses are all there already! Nice...

There is another set of 72 impulses for REmatrix Solo produced by Craig Anderton:

Anderton Synthetic Impulse Responses for REmatrix Solo Convolution Reverb https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=NewFeatures.082.html

I already had them installed, so not sure from where or when I downloaded them. They don't appear among the downloads in the Platinum installers like the NYC Showroom. It may have either been a one-time special download offered directly by Craig, or they are just part of the Solo factory install.

Thanks. I was afraid it was something like that. Yeah player is a deeper version, but we can’t load the NYC impulses that were also bundled with Sonar at some point. You have to have the full/paid version to load "user presets". That’s what I was trying to accomplish.

Not a great tragedy as I’ve never used them so I don’t remember what they contained...

Hey, good news! I tried using the REmatrix Solo module in the CbB Pro Channel. I incorrectly stated earlier that it was not available in CbB.

You can import user IRs into that one! The NYC Showroom impulses just imported fine!

    See details: https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=ProChannel.13.html

Does anyone remember when we got rematrix one shot? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

REmatrix Solo was bundled with Sonar Platinum.

That plugin didn't make the trip over to CbB. But  REmatrix Player was recommended as an alternative solution, because it could load the existing Solo IR collection.

Edit: I was mistaken about REmatrix Solo. It is included as a Pro Channel module in CbB. REmatrix Player is a more capable VST plugin version of the reverb.
