  1. I would give you one of mine if I could. I have 14 freebies at $149.99 leftover that I cannot use!
  2. Something like Unify, but for the Spectrasonics universe?
  3. AmpliTube Joe Satriani is in the freebies list. I picked it up. Appears to be a $99 level choice.
  4. I was impressed with the Spitfire template for Logic. The guy that copied that template over to Studio One has apparently done a very nice job, it is very impressive in breadth and scope! But with over 150 tracks, (99 instruments, and over 50 Stem stacks and Print tracks) it's a big drag on PC resources from the get go. Since I'll likely not be writing a score for a full symphony orchestra in the very near future, I may chop that song template up into a few instrument section and ensemble track templates, to mix and match with other stuff. Maybe put off having to add more RAM, at least for now. LOL!
  5. It was a 27 hour flash deal with the clock counting down from 100,000 seconds. 50% off many things at Spitfire.
  6. Thanks Matthew. Missed that thread from a couple years ago, as I just got Spitfire BBCSO this year as the freebie Discover edition, then they offered me a huge discount to upgrade to BBCSO Core. Too good to refuse! I actually never really planned to do anything related to Spitfire, until PluginGuru (John "Skippy" Lemkuhl) put out a preset library, DiscoverStation and CoreStation for Unify | BBCSO, with BBCSO layered presets and other cool stuff to play with. >>> https://www.pluginguru.com/products/discoverstation-corestation-unify-bbcso/
  7. They were the headliners at the first rock concert that I ever attended! Was a triple header with Sugarloaf and Wet Willie. 😎

    Softube Vol 5

Are you allergic to iLok license protection? I have a small bundle from Softube that requires activation via the iLok soft license manager.
  9. That question has been asked and answered already. The serial number is in the box, that you will need to register when received. And there is apparently no way to get the serial from customer service. So if your shipment is late, you could always ask IK customer service to grant you an extension.
  10. Welcome Back Kotter Larry - Theme Song Sincerely, from the forum "Sweathogs"
  11. Ahh, but I cannot speak for Cakewalk in regards to the Spitfire player. There has not been a template made for it yet that I am aware of. @Philip G Huntmentioned a few posts back that he had some issues with CbB and the Spitfire Player.
  12. Black Friday is coming next month!!! 😎
  13. I never said it was a bad thing. In fact, I think using a template with per track player instances is an improvement over cumbersome multi-timbral arrangements. I was just pointing out that this was not a Kontakt instrument, to anyone who had expectations that it might be. Especially in light of the comment about Amadeus Symphony Orchestra, which is.
  14. The full Studio One template for BBCSO Core running in Studio One 5.4 here is using up about 12GB RAM. I only have 16GB, so if you plan to work with a full orchestra template you may want to have 32GB available. But the author of this template also provided a "slim" template, with smaller sections. For those that just want a test ride, there is also BBCSO Discover, which can be had for free. But not in time to make the cutoff on the 50% deal, as there is a 2 week wait for the free license. >>> https://www.spitfireaudio.com/shop/a-z/bbc-symphony-orchestra-discover/ Discover has a much smaller sample footprint, templates for Garageband, Logic, and ProTools, as well as additional contributed templates for Ableton Live, Cubase, Studio One, Reaper, Bitwig, Dorico, and FL Studio.
  15. The BBCSO Core templates are here. There are additional templates from contributors for Studio One, Reaper, Bitwig, and Dorico. https://www.spitfireaudiothepage.com/posts/core-templates I just loaded up the one for Studio One successfully, "Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra Core Template for Studio One v 4.6 Professional.song". Edit: There appears to be about 100 instrument tracks in here, each with instances of Spitfire Player, and in addition there are quite a few FX and Stem tracks. Impressive, but now I'm thinking about filling my two empty RAM slots with another 16GB. 🤪
  16. Just be aware that Spitfire has its own BBCSO player and is not Kontakt compatible. I have Amadeus as well, which is a decent orchestral sketching library that does run in Kontakt. But to use BBCSO in a DAW, you will be using a separate instance of the player for each track, as the player is not multi-timbral. But Spitfire has made this easy for a few DAWs, as they have pre-made orchestral templates for this purpose. There are currently supporting templates for Logic Pro X, GarageBand, Ableton Live, Protools, and Cubase. >>> https://www.spitfireaudiothepage.com/templates
  17. After reading the link from @Promidi, I suspect this will optimize the library on a HDD. In fact, mine is installed on an SSD, and I don't even see an "Optimise" option.
  18. The Alan Parson's Imperial Grand was sampled for each key with 8 velocity layers, according to the description. But you make a good point about the difference between sampled and modeled pianos. Many forums have already been filled to the brim with this discussion, and my impression is that real piano players find that the response of a modeled piano is more realistic for playing. Although some will admit that modeled pianos can fall short of the sonic realism of some sampled pianos. Someone already mentioned that this would be a decent freebie if you were light on pianos in your collection. I wouldn't have high expectations for this if you were already into some high end piano libraries or models.
  19. If you have "adult" hands, you will appreciate full size keys, even in a compact form factor. I have large hands and find that "mini" keys are difficult to strike accurately without hitting more than one at a time...
  20. Not bad. Alan was on the team that sampled a Bösendorfer® Model 290 grand piano at Mark Knopfler's British Grove Studios in London. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/st3alanparsonsgrand/?pkey=st3sounds-alanparsons-grand
  21. Too bad that I already upgraded to BBC Core earlier this year for 40% off...
