I would have recommended the SOC, or all the same reasons Ken and mibby stated.. but I stayed focused on just a stand alone comp. And the C1 is just a really good, quick and easy comp. Clovis mentioned the comps in the Pro Channel, and he is correct. All of them work very well. I still reach for them for general purposes.

Mixhub is a really nice plugin for the money. Good choice. Didn't even think of that.

)Well, to play devil's advocate, it may have gotten to the point where they were devoting too much resources to accommodate the amount of transfers. So to make it less appealing... the fee. I believe the end of free licensing transfers are gone. I know there are still ones that don't charge, but vast majority do. I also believe that a majority of software companies don't want users to sell.

I am finding that my plan of having a 1TB SSD as my sample drive is proving to be inadequate. So I have moved on to also using my 1tb M.2 Intel 660 drive as an alternative sample drive. And that is starting to fill up fast!! I don't know if I can believe that!! Seems like a setup to me!!! : )

Excellent tool!! I demo'd it and then found out how much it would cost to get a full version and I cringed. (I am a cheap sukka!!). However, I found that as I went back to regular Explorer, I missed Directory Opus. A lot!!! So I saved the money and got it. Have not regretted it at all. This was one of my more useful software purchases. Highly recommend it.

Hold on... when Vista came out it was almost, and I mean almost, as bad as ME!!! : ) They did fix Vista and it really ended up being a decent OS, just barley. But I only ran Vista on my home PC. I still was running XP on my music PC!! : )

Yep. And if Win 11 requires that my machine has TDM, TPM, or whatever it's called, and my machine doesn't have it? Oh well, it'll have to wait till I upgrade to a new machine. And that's won't happen for another 5 yrs!! At least!!

I don't know if I did or not Vernon. I was doing other things at the time and I forgot I was d/l MODO Drums, all of a sudden the installer popped up on my screen and I was like... "Oh Yeah!! Forgot about this." It did take it a long time to d/l so I am thinking that it did install content. All I know is I just clicked all the next buttons until the install one showed and then I clicked that one! T-Racks updated too, and d/l about 1.6gb of info and that didn't take nearly as long as the MODO Drums d/l. [edit] @Vernon Barnes As a follow up I went to my IKPM d/l folder and sure enough, there is a 19gb folder for MODO Drums with a date of yesterday. So yes, I d/l and installed all the content again!! Not sure if that was needed or not. [edit #2] For some reason I had to reinstall MODO Bass. Not sure why that was needed. It was working as expected. But I clicked 'Re-Install' and it didn't d/l anything. Just installed from previous d/l. IDK

Best advice so far!!! We have to remember that Win 10 ain't just gonna stop working when Win 11 debuts!!

As a follow up, Modo Drums updated successfully.

I am on Win 10 Pro v2004. I just tried IK PM and sure enough, I have two updates also. Modo Drums and TR5. Clicked on the update for Modo Drums and it's d/l as I write.

If I gave you a $99 Walmart guitar, then a real Gibson or Fender, would you tell the difference? Someone that doesn't play the instrument in the example above won't be able to see or tell a difference. I could. Now I am like you in that I think I can hear a difference, but is it enough for me to shell out for it? I haven't got it yet as I am not a proficient keyboard player. Not even half a$s! But I am definitely interested in the history around it!!

I got a story behind that. We had just got off work, picked upo the girls and was hauling ***** to get to the concert before they started. The car started running hot... so we would stop and go find water in the ditches and fill the radiator back up. It was only about a 45ml ride, so it wasn't too bad. After the second stop one of the girls said "Why do all of this? It's just a rock band?" Me and my buddy told her if she didn't grab some water and help she would be walking! Needless to say after the concert they understood what we were trying to go see, an event, not a rock concert.
