  1. Articulations I had one of Scotts Sonar Power books and read it cover to cover, kept it by my keyboard and mouse for years. Very useful book. Well written. I was able to understand what he was telling me. But most importantly I was able to use this info to branch out further. I have long since retired it in favor of CW's own Reference Guide. But that Reference Guide is nowhere near as useful as Scott's book was. Looking to the future! Merry Christmas too.
  2. Matthew, I thought I have posted in this thread before. But it looks like I haven't. So let me tell you that I use the M-Spec themes and really love them. Don't want to do without. Thanks again many times over!!
  3. Those Ren plugins are really some good stuff. I still use the Ren Ax plugin.
  4. LOL!!! I would say that almost all of us are of that age!!! Yep my humor was missed again!!
  5. Do these youngsters know who this is?
  6. It's gotta happen. It's one of the most feature rich DAW's on the market! And you get it for free!!!
  7. But if you got neither one of those, the Audio Track that comes in Gold bundle works well. As does the CS in Cakewalk for that matter.
  8. There is not a dud plugin in the gold bundle. You won't believe this, but stick that Audio Trk plugin on a trk and see what it can do with minimal resources! That C1 comp is nothing to sneeze at either. Very good comp. No frills, just gets the job done very well. That Electric Grand 80 is a fine instrument too. And Waves Tune LT is not bad either. If you don't have melodyne, this will work in it's place. This lite version is not as feature rich as Melodyne, but it works.
  9. actually, I know about these "issues" because I am a wannabedrummer! I started my music journey as a drummer. Have filled in as a drummer from time to time. That's why I am so particular about my drums in my songs. If you ain't got rockn' drums in your song, you aint got...
  10. As far as I can tell Aidan, that's the whole GTR suite. Those three. You got me wondering, so I started up Cakewalk and am playing my guitar through GTR. And I had forgot how good the clean sound is. The pedal fx's are top notch. Two amps hooked up by default. And you can see the routing and choose how you want it routed. Both amps has it's own cab controls, you can link the two amps, and in the upper right corner there is a HD mode. And the GUI is resizeable (for me anyway). Forgot about the tuner, it's a really good one. Easy to see, to use. No frills, no fuss.
  11. I was able to get Mercury from Horizon much cheaper than that. I would wait. And check with Koby over at everyplugin.com he got the best dealsw for me on my Waves upgrades. @Fleer I know Larry is making a joke, but you would get all the stuff in Gold WUP'd for just what.... $13?!!! No-Brainer right there!
  12. I was thinking that and maybe the NX Oceanway, and the new SSL EV. But then I find out I can only use it once!!?? WDF!!? Marketing... gotta love em.
  13. Yes I do. And to be honest, it's been a while since I took it out. Not because I didn't like it, just not doing much playing lately. When I did play around with it I was happy with it and for the money I spent on it (got it with the Gold Bundle) I thought it was fantastic. I remember saying that I thought it was an under-rated amp sim. No one talks much about it at all. But it can hold it's own with just about anything out there. If you can get it for $16, grab it. For that price it's value is hard to beat.
  14. $19.99 is the new $29.99? This is a new email. I just got it about an hour ago.
  15. Exactly. And my fav also for this reason. One other major reason that I will mention is the feel. I couldn't find another drum program that can capture the feel that I was looking for. It's a type of push/pull that constantly goes on throughout the song. This is the only drum program I play with, instead of following it. It's not locked to a midi grid. It flows! Like a real drummer! Yes, it does have a learning curve. What I have gathered from using the program is that to get the "feel and flow" I mentioned above, takes lots of different parameters that interact with each other, and sometimes are difficult to understand just by looking at them and playing around with them. I had to sit with the manual for several (read many times) go-throughs with the program open, read what a parameter did, tried it, and was then able to understand how it all worked. That it does. I use it and love it, but I have only scratched the surface with it. I do use the samples from the program (not all the time). When I do use the sample that come with it, I don't use much, if any, of the processing that comes with it. I use outboard stuff. It has a very unique sound that I like. My fav is the Bonham kit. They call it the Bonzo Kit. Well said. Once you get a grip on how to work the parameters, then switch to a different drummer (keeping the same parameters) and you now have a whole new style!! Turns the song that your working on into something you never even thought about. And that inspiration is priceless. May not be the style/drummer you want, but then you begin to realize that this program is very close to a real drummer. (Nah, go back to playing what you was before!) It's a drummer, it will be difficult! You just won't have to feed it or buy it beer!! Or worry about it being on time.... Or it sleeping over cause they couldn't drive home... Or helping them carry all that bs into the studio.... Or.....
  16. Exactly. And such a great song writing tool. After EZD2 came out, I fully expected EZK2 to follow soon after with browser/song finding/editing features similar to those in EZD2.
  17. Didn't realize that. May justify the steep price, I am not sure. I never wanted to control any midi software with my voice. As the SOS review stated, it would take lots of practice to get it right.
  18. What do they have to do with this. (My only reference to Pep Farms is the frozen cakes and pies. And of course the cookies!!) [TOTP!!]
  19. It has gone down significantly to $249. With me having Melodyne, I sure ain't paying this much for something Melodyne can do.
  20. Have you tried/bought it? Support not helping?
