  1. Got one already. Don't need or want another!! Exactly
  2. I agree with you mibby. Never seen them this low coming from UA direct with a FULL warranty. And that's with FREE Shipping!! When I got my first Apollo, it changed the way I recorded. I have never had so many choices when recording my vocals or guitar and bass. These choices are using SSL/Neve/API/Helios. And this is all with NO Latency!! My PC doesn't even break a sweat. I am not trying to talk anyone into getting this. But if you have a good mic, want really great home recordings, vocals, guitars and bass that seem to mix themselves, you might want to grab one!!
  3. When I click on the link you posted, price shows $229 Which is not a bad price for what you getting. If it was still $103 I might have grabbed it. Never played a guitar by that builder, but the Wilkerson stuff gives them some credibility.
  4. Watched the whole thing!! LOL!! "Who'd wanna keep it in the first.place!!"
  5. After seeing this I realize that the song was originally done with a drum machine. The first video you posted was the drummer 'playing along with' the song! That was a feat of great talent, and timing!!
  6. You mean "wannabes?" LOL!!
  7. Well that was totally unexpected. That middle-eastern/Turkish sounding music was spell binding!! I watched the whole thing. He said a lot of good stuff at the end. I will be on the lookout for the release of his band music. I would to hear what he thinks is simple.
  8. Best thing anyone told me was some young kids that snuck into the bar after we shut it down. This was around 4 in the morning. I was rolling up cables when they walked up to me and started asking how I was getting the sound I got on 'Cult of Personality ". All I could think of to tell them was I just go for it! You have to understand my thinking at the time. I know I am no Vernon Reid. So most of you that has done this know I was doing the best I could. We played it the first set at the end. Then again somewhere in the middle of another set. Then again as the very last song. So I am trying to at least do as good as I did the time we played it!! Anyway, them kids told me they had never heard sounds like that come from a guitar. They went on about how I was a this and that..... on and on. Finally bass player looked over at us and said to run them kids outta here. I still remember that. Hope I inspired them to "just go for it!"
  9. I agree with this. Need to expand that a little.
  10. I have not forgotten Joad. Just ain't had a chance to get it recorded. But I will.
  11. No need. He knew it already. My aunt and uncle lived in Lutcher, right next door to Gramercy. Just outside of Gramercy was a Kaiser aluminum plant. I went to live with them. Know that smell well.
  12. Welcome WingIt. Glad you could join us. The Coffeehouse (we call it "down here") is well off the beaten path. But you will find some really good people around these parts. When ya need more specific help as you develop your workflow, probably best to ask in another section of the forum. If your unsure, just ask us down here and we will get you to the right place.
  13. When did that happen? Shows ya how much I paid attention to PA.
  14. I remember those pedals. I recently got one of those kit builds from StewMac. It's a pedal they created based on a "Klon Centaur Professional Overdrive" I have never played through a real Klon, but this pedal I built is the best overdrive pedal I have ever used. I recommend them highly.
  15. Said many many times by many many folks trying to do the right thing!! It's a curse I tell ya!! Voodoo!!
  16. Yeah... here I go with that clarity again!! I meant "the only ones I use on a regular basis!! : )" But you knew that didn't you!! Dealing with me for so long!! (gotta laugh at myself) And again, when I wrote it, it was very clear... to me!! All my stuff has been since 2k. Nothing 'vintage'. So I should get around that little hitch. The oldest USB I have is the Original Trigger Finger. And it's worked on everything XP to Win11. I did order the one that ACL found for me. The 6' version. And I read some of the reviews before I pulled the trigger. Wasn't you in that thread recently that we were talking about Amazon selling a lot of fake stuff? And just for everyone watching, I did search. I searched for midi interfaces. Never thought about a midi to USB cable!! Seriously!! Again, thanks everyone!!
  17. When these first came out I was wondering the same thing. I ran CW on a Surface Pro 3 with a i7 cpu in it for years and had no problem doing rough mixing stuff of 20-30 trks. Since latency wasn't an issue, as both Mark and Jim mention, I could get away with it. Mixing I don't mind latency. I don't want to wait 10 seconds for a change to take effect!! But a few seconds is acceptable. Recording, that's a whole another story!!! On my Surface 3 I could do limited, (very limited) recording with any type of plugins. Mostly what I would do was create in EZD or EZK the bounce that down/freeze those trks and get one, maybe two audio trks of guitar ideas. This using a cheap Behringer U-Phoria 2 with Behringer's own modified version of ASIO4ALL. And I would still have latency. But I did a lot of creating on that thing. It was easily transportable, easy setup, And all the same programs I had on my desktop machine at home. So I was familiar with everything.
  18. @ the mods: Thanks for moving thread to the correct forum.
  19. LOL!! Thanks for all the help. This is a great forum!!
  20. This is exactly what I was thinking as I no longer have any midi interface anymore. And my midi arsenal is small compared to some I know. I have only four hardware midi controllers I use. Two are USB (Alesis Q49, Trigger Finger) and two without, (Behringer foot controller FCB 1010, and Yamaha DD75). And there must be others with a need greater than mine that has a audio interface that doubled as a midi interface, that no longer works in Window X.
