I loved Project5 and so with Jesse working on Cakewalk Next it really has me intrigued. But, $$$ is tight now so take your time Cakewalk as not to tempt me LOL.

On the music front I really haven't brought anything this year. Mixcraft Pro 10 I will upgrade in the fall as I like the company and the upgrade is very reasonable. I use it on my laptop.
Other $20.00 upgrade will be to lengthen my Musicreader PDF subscription for another 2 years. I use that and Mobilesheets. I like them both and good to have one as a back-up. The plus with Musicreader is it can be used on all platforms for the price and syncs your PDF files for you. The negative is it went to a subscription model. But it isn't very costly and I have it on Windows and Android devices. With Mobilesheets you have to buy for each platform you use it on. After a few years yes it does become cheaper to use and I'll decide in another few years I'll decide if Musicreader PDF is still worth it to me.
Medical bills prevented me from upgrading to Kontakt 7 even at the sale price. I'll wait to next sale it upgrade.
Of course I'll also weigh the cost of the new Cakewalk Bundle too. But this time I'm not in any rush.- 1

Not to worry, just sound the letters out and think of someone overweight.

Not the definition I find when I google OBCD.
I'm to scared to google that now! I did say my daughter coined it for herself

I had a chemical disorder in high school.
Flunked every time. She is very visual and she gets a 3D image in her head of chem problems. I'm glad she found something she enjoys studying. But at the same time she is right about having OBCD But on the bright side she should make a comfortable living. I confess I don't understand any of the research she is doing.

Congrats on being able to retire at such an age. Pursue what really interests you and I'm sure that will keep you very busy.

would love to do that but sadly I'll not likely retire any time soon (too many plugins to still buy 😉) .
Really Ed I thought you had brought all of them already 😆

I used to belong to a church choir but as an instrumentalist. My singing voice is very, very bad But I know some of the choir members did help singing another persons parts for a tune. If not religious disregard the idea. Just tossing this out there.

I have seen some horrific accidents over the years, so "flying cars" just makes me realize how many Darwin Award contestants are coming. I worry more for the collateral damage that will result.
Heck yes! Don't you dare try to take my space in the sky. I tell you it will be epic when they try to merge back into regular 2D traffic.

Yes, but for how long after the change is made?
My bet is quite a few years. I panicked like others here and brought several other DAW's at the promotional price they were giving us Sonar users. So I have a few to upgrade if I like. I'm an older person and my needs are not great so this time around I'll be sticking with the old CbB and take a slow long look at what the new Cakewalk Next and the new Cakewalk Sonar will offer me. I learned my lesson and I'm not in a hurry this time around. I should of taken a deep breath and a few chill pills myself and I could of saved myself some $$. Funny I never upgraded to the newer CorelDraw and I'm getting fine by with the older version for the little I still do in graphics.
Anyway @Johnbee58 best of luck with your decision.

Well, I'm sure we're only a few years away from a working Star Trek transporter. You'll be able to order a guitar and in an instant have it materialize at the wrong address in another city. Imagine a world where a Nigerian prince can steal your identity and order himself your house. Or your wife and kids. Forget flying cars, this is a far more interesting Future.
How dare you say forgot the flying cars! I want to see the traffic jams in the sky 😆

I wouldn't rush to go get anything and just wait and see. Heck you will still be able to use your CbB

Someone from the Cakewalk staff and I believe a Beta tester said that their older processor was running just fine. I wouldn't worry to much about it.
Found this from Noel

TBH I have never wrapped my head around Jamstix and I own the whole lot of products. Maybe I just did not spend enough time with it. At my age time is a precious commodity.
I have to admit I feel the same way about a lot of software as I get older. My daughter just yesterday taught be something about my Android Phone that I didn't know I could do 😆 it was something simple to do and I was like really and my daughter was like "Duh Dad" 😮

This is sad news for the development of Jamstix but I hope Ralph is okay.
It is the price when dealing with small developers. I love Mobilesheets Sheetmusic software too but it is basically a one man developer. So if anything happens to "Mike" I worry what will become of this great software.
