Hello fellow home based rock stars! Are any of you like me and have multiple recording projects that you just want to get out there for people to hear i.e. Spotify, Amazon music, Apple Music etc and not really concerned with selling the music? If so, have any of you used a service like Tunecore, CD Baby, Distrokid etc for this? I’m just curious because since I’m not concerned with selling the music I want to limit my costs. I welcome any opinions/experiences!

Like a dummy I don't recall my last password for the old cakewalk site. I wanted to get my license information for the last version and included plugins of SPLAT, and I guess download the installer packages. I tried to request new password but haven't received the email. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? Thanks all.

Hey all... I am still in SPLAT but have suggested a friend that I want to collaborate with (a vocalist so we know his knowledge of DAWs is limited to nothing lol). He’s trying to dl CbB but it’s not working for him. He says it keeps telling him he already has an account, so he’s logged into that but it still not downloading and is only letting him work online. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Obviously in this day of social distancing, I can’t just swing by and take a look. Is there anything and of you could suggest I tell him to try? thank you all!

Thanks to the help of this forum I have gotten this to work somewhat but there is one thing that I wanted to make sure is right. Here is what I am trying to do. I am recording my guitars and bass tracks DI, running from my Fractal Audio Axe FX II (via spdif) into my Focusrite Scarlette 18i8. When the time comes to reamp I am going back out through the 18i8 to the Axe Fx and back all through spdif. My delima has been on how to get Cakewalk (SPLAT) to send midi cc's to the Axe fx. Thanks to you guys I have learned to open a midi track enter the nodes, change to values etc. I had the hardest time to get it to work, then last night, by accident I found that the midi seems to not transmit if I have a track solo'd or muted. Is this how it is supposed to work in Cakewalk?

Is there a way to make the text for the markers larger? This would be such a help.

Title says is all but... I am thinking of installing CbB but unsure if it’s wise. I paid for platinum because I wanted all the features I can get. If I add CbB to the mix what of anything will I lose?

This will not be for live use. What I am doing is sending the DI out from the SPDIF out of my Scarlett to the SPDIF in on my Fractal Axe FXII for reamping. I am wanting the midi CC’s to turn fx on and off in my preset during the reamp, or maybe control a wah or whammy block. I got a new 5 pin midi a couple of days ago and am gonna give that a spin.

Hey all... so I am trying to send midi cc commands to my Axe Fx2 during reamping. I am running midi out from my Scarlett 18i8 to the midi in on the Axe FX. So far I can’t figure out how to send out the midi notes, I think I’ll need to be able to select between Midi CC’s 16-27 to do what I need to do. while we are talking about this if anyone knows how to do this stuff, I am also going to want to figure out how to set up to use my Voodoo Labs Ground Control midi controller to send midi signal into my 18i8 so I can use my Mission expression pedal to “draw” automation for wah, whammy and volume swells. thank you to anyone that can offer some help.

Kinda how the title says it. I would like to be able to record automation information into my Cakewalk using an expression pedal, mostly for wah, whammy and volume swell effects. As a guitarist, using a mouse in a plugin or "drawing" it just isnt intuitive like a pedal would be. Is this possible? And if so how? I have a Mission expression pedal that is set up to use with my VooDoo Labs Ground Control Pro that I use to control my Axe FX 2, I also have a Line 6 Helix LT, would either of these be an option to use? While we are on the topic, does anyone know how to do automation with the wheels or sliders from a Nektar 49+? Before I have pretty much printed my wah, whammy, effect on/off during recording, but want to move in this new direction of implementing midi and using controllers ect so I can focus on the performances as we are writing and worry about everything else after. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is it possible to record midi in multiple passes on the same midi instrument track? I am not sure if I am wording it right, but what I am looking to do for example is on a strings track, record the bass part then go back and record the cello part, then viola and violin etc... to this point when I start recording it seems to record over the previous recording. Is there a way to do this without having to have a separate midi instrument for each pass? Thanks all!

Hey all, I know I am coming late to this party, but there are somethings about my previous Sonar Platinum, namely the instruments/synths, that I would very much not like to lose the options of using. Is it too late for me to save a hard copy of the install and setup files from the old Cakewalk site? If not, how would I go about doing it. Thank you all!

I am the black sheep with my worship team. I am of course one of the only people running PC. We have talked about using MainStage, I know its an Apple/Mac app but I have heard its possible to use in PC but I have been able to find next to no information on how to do that. Does anyone here have experience with that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
