  1. I would use Wasapi Shared, then?
  2. I just found another PITCH SHIFT listed under UNCATEGORIZED. But the program shuts down when I try to drag the effect.
  3. I want to apply a little pitch shift to a couple of tracks, but clicking PITCH SHIFT won't load to the channel. Instead it shows another one named MELODYNE. And that leads to a limited demo, or a purchase. I am new to Cakewalk, and have not uploaded any effects. If Cakewalk will not offer me PITCH SHIFT, where do you recommend I look for it?
  4. Found this video accidentally, and it's VERY interesting! https://youtu.be/5DbuAqwBpGY
  5. I am not currently managing live open mic events. Now that I'm learning Cakewalk, I just got curious about some of my gear for the live stage. Thanks for confirmation that RP500 is NOT an interface.
  6. thank you... I did see input signal on ther UM2 and on the VU meter. I"m getting there!
  7. Thankyou, now that I've used it, it makes sense.
  8. OK! I figured out how to record from my UM2 interface. I see a list of FX on the right edge, but how do I apply them to a track?
  9. I worked several years hosting open mic events. Now that I am learning about interfaces I want to ask: The Digitech RP 500 has USB output. Other than multi-effects for guitar, what role can it play in my connecting devices?
  10. Audacity yes, n-Track not so well.
  11. Hello friends, I've been diligently studying Cakewalk for a week. Searching and reading your forum comments. Watching some excellent youtube videos, and taking notes. But I'm stuck! Windows 11 with Behringer UM2 interface. I can hear my guitar through my headphones, (easy) but I don't see a level on the VU meter. (difficult) And I do hear a chunk of latency while handling my acoustic guitar with Fishman pickup. I worked a few days in Wasapi-shared, then heard good things about Asio. I heard warnings from some of you in the forum. I uninstalled, then re-installed Caekewalk in an effortto neutralize all the tinkering I had done. I am also familiar with Audacity and n-Track Studio. Thanks for any helps.
  12. One YouTube I watched suggested buffer slilder to the left for recording, slider to the right for playback. But using Wasapi I don't have that option?
  13. Thanks for background and perspective on Asio. I am just learning this program this week and downloaded Asio4all. Now I want to return to Wasapi but I don't see it listed in the program as before. How do I get it back?
  14. Thank you Joe, I am using Behringer UM2 interface , and have downloaded Asio from that site. I am not sure they are connected.
  15. I get a pop up warning that Asio4all "is known to be incompatible with Cakewalk" yet several YouTubes recommend it for Cakewalk. What does it mean, and how should I respond?
  16. oh my gosh, you're right. Sorry. watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vArFTYlAvDk EDIT>>PREFERENCES PLAYBACK AND RECORDING my sliders are not active.
  17. At 3 minutes, you show the buffer slider. But my screen doesn't show that section as active. What should I do? Change devices?
  18. Edit>preferences When I click APPLY , the window closes but reopens as if there is something yet undone. Is it prompting me for more? Or is that ok, and I can CLOSE?
