  1. Thanks for your reply reginald. I hear what your saying, I've been giving myself a headache searching all the alternatives that are out there...lol. I have a Fadeport 8 so really don't need keyboard with DAW control. I'm finding that if I look at most of the software vst bundles have a ton of samples I'll never use. I'm not into big production stuff and don't need half the odd ball synth sounds that come with the packages. (Ex: Kontakt) I did notice however the sounds of instruments that are in this Yamaha Modx6 are simply fantastic and would probably use most of them. My genre is mainly country and I'm looking for the most realistic instruments I can find. I'm in Canada so the price of the Yamaha is $1599.00 And when I look at buying a midi keyboard and start adding some of these bundles that add up very fast, I'm not going to be far off the price of the Yamaha and start to wonder which way to go. I realize I would be stuck with just the sounds from the Yamaha with no room for expansion but there would be with purchasing various software bundles. I guess I'll just have to sit down one day and take the plunge? Thanks again for your reply, much appreciated.
  2. Akai Advance 49 Keyboard Hi guys, sorry if this is in the wrong forum wasn't sure where to put it. Is anyone in here familiar with the Akai Advance Keyboard 61 and using it in Cakewalk? I'm looking at either it or the Komplete Kontrol s61. I don't really have a huge library of VST at this time but looking at purchasing more. My other option was to just Purchase a Yamaha Modx6 synth as it has "Many" built in sounds that work quite well for my genre of music.(Country) Any ideas or recommendations from anyone is most appreciated and thanks in advance for your help.
  3. Thanks for the reply scook! I'm at work right now but will follow up with the info when I get home. I'm thinking it was sonar producer 3. I followed a couple of videos on youtube about how to install and use FTP in sonar and thats what worked before, but no luck this time. I going to start up my old version of Sonar Producer tonight and see i f I have the same issue or not. thanks again
  4. Tried both of those and no didn't change a thing.
  5. Hoping someone can fill me in on what I may not be doing right. I used FTP in older version of Sonar Producer and all worked fine, but now that I'm using Bandlab Cakewalk i'm not getting any sound. It loads the FTP VST as it should, I can choose an instrument and all the LED's in FTP are showing a signal, but for the life of me can't figure out why I'm not hearing anything. The FTP works fine outside of Cakewalk. Is it perhaps this new Bandlab version doesn't support the FTP? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance for your help.
  6. Thanks so much for your help msmcleod..:) Worked like a charm.
  7. Just got my faderport 8 and all seems to be working as it should in Cakewalk with one exception. I can't seem to get it to follow my track selection on screen. For example if I select track 1 or 2 on the Faderport it doesn't change the track on screen inside the daw if you follow me. It does work right in Studio one and Mixbus 5 however. Any thoughts, or is this not something that can be done in Cakewalk and Faderport 8
  8. The banking feature on the Faderport 8 walks thru 16+ channels so can't see any reason why the faderport 16 wouldn't work.
  9. I have faderport 8 and seems to work for the most part. I watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q466SpBZT4 Hope this helps.
