This is wishful thinking on my part, but will we some legacy instruments like Z3TA and Rapture make a comeback with the new Sonar?
Comeback and development please!

Probably a common sentiment. I want to stay with Cakewalk Sonar as it's what I'm familiar with.. but it really does depend on the pricing. The free updates and new features were lovely while they lasted, but obviously couldn't continue forever... so now we'll need to see how Bandlab value Cakewalk against the competition, and if us old timers who have paid for the product previously get any kind of accommodation. I totally understand the comments about being two different companies, and it would be completely justifiable to start from scratch, but if that happens then personally I'd have a good look round at some of the competition...
Having said that, we have to be thankful that Bandlab kept Cakewalk alive, and has continued to invest in it... and has one of the best DAW forums around (which, actually, counts for a lot!)
I bought Reaper when Gibson dropped Sonar (Platinum in my case). Didn't use it much and got very irritated with it when I did (but more in a bit). I was also relieved when Bandlab picked up Cakewalk, but also concerned. "How long will it be free?", etc. I was very surprised and grateful for what followed.
I did not give up on Reaper however and though I am now intermediate at best I've come to appreciate it. For various reasons I am not able to support the kind of budget that Studio One etc require.
Anyway I think it would be very decent of Bandlab to offer a steep discount on the new Sonar (which initially at least will be using the substantially same code base as the old Sonar) to people like me. If they don't do this I won't touch it. BTW I know all too well they have no legal obligation.
I will keep CBB and will install the final update. I will finish some things off. Then I may uninstall it and, sadly, say goodbye.

Sorry can't escape this Quote thing.
Anyway that was a real pleasure to listen to. Very, very well produced. The vox as people have said really adds something. Are the samples all cleared or public domain?
I did feel at about half way or two thirds it could have "gone somewhere". Harmonically. Some modulation and perhaps a more radical change of texture? But equally going too far with that kind of thing could have ruined it. Anyway thank you.
Oh and did you know that https://store.cdbaby.com/Artist/BjornFredrickson gives a 404 error (page not found)?
And I take it this is you? https://open.spotify.com/artist/1A1Q5P93fbFFIjbBVaasNC

Happy New Year Cakewalk friends!
I haven't been able to break thru writer's block the last month or so. I keep trying though. Here's another synth project with a lot of pitch bendy arps and general off the wall sounds.
I decided to insert snippets of dialog from cheesy old movies into the project which may or may not have been a good idea.
Anyway, here it is. Thanks for listening/comments.-Bjorn

That's cool that it sounds live, I wish I had a drummer! EzDrummer3, is indeed easy to use and customize the track.
Wow. In that case maybe I should have got that instead of BFD3 (it was on sale and I am on a very limited budget at least for a while).

Thank you.
Very impressive. Nice relaxed feel. I take it the drums in particular are live? Is it all live. Makes such a difference.
On the high end question: I bought a CD of Hunky Dory (years ago now) which I think was a remix. It sounded quite shrill to me. I have to wonder what it would sound like now.

Hello,
As my profile says I am very new to actually releasing music. Here they are:
A Form Emerges: https://open.spotify.com/album/39H0Txhi1Y49lHN8QCULre
or
https://secret-garden.bandcamp.com/track/a-form-emerges
And
Tell Me: https://open.spotify.com/album/15wdCmyTOBAuyyuF1VwC0k
or
https://secret-garden.bandcamp.com/track/tell-me
Also:
I used CD Baby because I am not prolific so the way they charge makes sense for me.
The album which really is a mixture is due on 27th Jan 2023. Nearly all done in Cakewalk.
