You do very good pop songs. I'm wondering if I hear some overall distortion on this, are the levels too high or am I?
Thanks KS. It's a misspent youth.
There is a ton of distortion and nastiness everywhere on this one but I don't believe there's any clipping.

Hi folks
This one is out and out punk pop fun - Ed and me threw it together in a couple of days all told. Had a lot of fun with this one
The current Mrs Daryl1968 makes a brief appearance on this one

Nits and crits welcome
No Imagination
Written and performed by Ed Kocol and Daryl Greenway
With backing vocals by Liz Greenway
Verse 1:
Always been a simple man
Doing right, the best I can
Eat, sleep, work. Well, that's the plan
Never gone beyond a white work van
Prech
Fancy cars are not my style
I'll never walk the miracle mile
I've aways been a simple guy and
I guess that's why that I've stopped tryin
Chorus:
No imagination
Happy with my station
All I wanna do
Is share my love with you
It's been my foundation
no imagination
All I wanna do
Is share my love with you
Verse 2
Always been a simple soul,
Day by day I play my role.
From dawn to dusk, I toil and strive,
In that white van I come alive.
Prech
Chorus
Bridge:
I don't have to think at all
Never been against the wall
My world changed because of you
I'm gonna see this through with you, with you
Chorus- 6

Hi Guys
Really like this and enjoyed the listen very much. Agree with Wookie re the bass being perhaps and only just of course, a little forward in the mix😎
Apart from that, thought this was great
Cheers
Nigel
Thanks so much Nigel - this has been fixed (a bit like my dog)

Good job guys! Nice of you to pull Daryk back into the forum too. 😁
I can imagine the picture of the "band" that goes with this song having Ed wearing a t-shirt that says "More of ME in the mix!" 🤣
Lol. Hope you are well mate

Nice guitar work Lynn, interesting Vox Daryl, nice drumming Hugo. Nice bass Ed, though I found it a little to forward when Daryl was singing, just my two Triganic Pu's worth.
As always reasonable production.Cheers Wookster for the 'interesting' review

Life Alert
Written by Ed Kocol and Daryl Greenway
featuring Lynn Wilson on Guitar and Hugo Ribeiro on Drums
V1
I'm tired and worn
I've been through the storm
But I still have hope
That one day I'll cope
I'm tired and worn
I've been hurt and torn
But I still have faith
That one day I'll be safe
Prech
You need to press the button, don't you wait
Help is on the way, don't hesitate
From the depths of despair you'll rise
A life alert shining in your eyes
Chorus
I'm on life alert
Waiting to be reborn
I Need a new start
I'm tired and worn
V2
I'm tired and worn
I've been lost and forlorn
But I still have love
And one day I'll rise above
Prech
Chorus- 8

Daryl , That was a Fantastic clean production. I for sure got some Steely Dan impressions. I Loved the low harmonies you laid under the main vox and the main was smoooth. I liked the synth work especially that change at the outro. Enjoyed it .. mark
Thanks so much Mark

One thing I would do; drop the “I” on “I expected the worst”. It makes you “rush” the line (IMHO).
