I have often heard yesterday is a prescription for today?  No doubt it this song has your signature and that is a compliment.  Great lyrics and performance. Well done Allan!

Hey Freddy -- I'm glad you  appreciated it -- thanks for listening :) -- Allan.

I think once I stated Allan made me think of the band The Association.
But that's an over simplification. His "style", if you like, is ABull...

Hey Tom, thanks for those generous comments -- much appreciated. - Allan.

Good tune that, to me, has a retro feel.

Thanks for listening & commenting mate :) -- Allan.

  1. Hey Paul, this is a terrific demo of your song -- nice arrangement with good vocals and sweet acoustic guitars -- (wish I could get acoustics to sound that good -- one of the major banes of my recording existence!) :) Allan.

I Really like the light hearted smooth feel of this song.  Great lyrics/Great writing !  Reminded me a little of some early works by Stephen Bishop.   Very Nice ..   mark

Hi AB I always like your melodies and songs ( i always think of the kinks ), really liked the loose recording I wouldve doubled recorded  the backing  harmonies, although they were a tick out in places.......I  cant talk though, getting harmonies right is always one of my biggest problems and takes me hours , looking at the credits your a one man band like myself so I can empathise  cheers nice one P

Hey Paul. glad you like it -- thanks for listening & commenting -- ;) -- Allan.

    Hi Allan

Like this one a lot - as I think someone else said was a bit quiet, apart from that cool stuff

Hey Nigel, thanks for commenting -- yeah, it's so quiet cos it's an unmastered rough mix -- so no limiting and such -- thanks mate -- ? -- Allan.

Another wonderful piece from you!  I love the lyrics!  The vocals (lead and harmonies), and over all performance are excellent. This a well constructed, very creative piece and the mix sounds good on my system.

    Well done my friend!

Hi Freddy, thanks for those kind comments -- I'm pleased you like the song and performances ? -- Allan.

Nice job Allan - you're a top-notch song craftsman - I was most impressed by your vocal and vocal harmonies in this one - nicely done.

Only crit - the volume overall was a bit low for my listening experience.

    Thanks Douglas ? -- Allan.

  7. Yeah, Paul, those drums need some work and they need to be up in the mix too!  Some good changes in this and your voice is really good -- phrasing and tone.  Some very nice guitar lines and such particularly in the instrumental section -- lots of creativity-- another good one ? -- Allan.

  8. Hey Douglas, this has a very New York circa late 70s feel to it -- esp. your vocals.  The mix is great on this -- really like that bass (what kinda bass is that?)  I like how you brought in the different guitars later in the song -- makes for interesting listening.  Cool guitar part and tone on that lead section -- almost getting a bit Tom Verlaine there. -- Good work, mate.  This is my favorite I've heard from you -- ? -- Allan.

I've just listened to this song, took a short break, then listened a few more times in a row. It's really great! Love the lyrics not to mention the irony of posting it at this time of year ? I really enjoyed the use of harmony also. All the other instruments fitted the song perfectly. Well done!

Hey Craig -- thanks for commenting -- I'm glad you like the song and performances -- this song is not anti-religion per se -- it's against anyone thinking that any mere mortal could ever know the reality of the ultimate mystery (and yeah, I realize that stating that is also presumptuous) --? -- Allan

I can't believe... how many good songs are on this forum.  Reminds me a little of Lennon or maybe George Harrison in the Traveling Wilbury's.

    NICE!

Hey Jimbo -- glad ya like the song and thanks for commenting :) -- Allan.
