Hey Craig. Thanks for all you do in this forum! You're truly an expert! Question: I tried your solution for my NI Komplete Kontrol M32, and I get an error message that there isn't enough memory to install the M32 as an output device. I have 32GB of RAM and I'm definitely not getting close to using it all...I'm wondering if you've had experience with this before. Thanks Donnie

OK. So I saw the update info on the new version of Cakewalk by Bandlab with the "Arranger" feature! It looked killer! So installed it, but for some reason the program is really buggy now. The toolbar across the top resets to a minimal set of modules every time I open a new project (or reopen the same project). Clip automation is buggy. I can draw in a few edit points, but then automation freezes. The only way I could finish a simple clip automation was to save the project then do a track automation. My changes to the track view don't remain...I'm always needing to click the little box that says "Workspace" directly above the tracks to say "all" so I can get "Mix, FX, I/O" and everything else. Project is starting to freeze quite often...I have to reboot Cakewalk to play a file. Anyone having the same problems? Is this update too fresh for prime-time? Or am I doing something wrong. Thanks. Thanks Lynn! I just checked and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Regardless of whether or not I have the interleave in mono or stereo, the same behavior happens on the individual track. 😞

I love Cakewalk - I've been using the Sonar version forever, and now I've switched over to Bandlab! Great work, BandLab! But I have a problem. I have a project that is now responding as if it is corrupt -- on some tracks the pan and send controls are way off. All of them have reset to center - even though if you solo that channel, you can clearly hear that it's panned to either left, right, center, or somewhere in between. And if you try to correct the pan control to move the dial to where you visually want to hear the signal, some weird behavior occurs. For example, if the track was initially panned hard left before the corruption, then 12:00 on the dial has now become "hard left". I move the nob all the way to the right (5:00), it does hard pan the signal to the right. If I then move the nob back to 12:00, the signal is panned hard left. To get the signal to actually come out of both speakers (i.e., center), I need to have the pan control at about 3:00. And turning the nob any farther to the left of 12:00 doesn't help -- the channel's signal is still panned hard left (like it is when the pan control is at 12:00). The exact opposite occurs when I start with a channel that was initially panned hard right before the corruption occurred. A similar wierdness is happening to the send controls. Every send control is now set at 3:00 (even though the underlying send amounts vary). It's a rather large project with lots of midi, animation and plugins, so I really don't want to restart the mix from scratch. Any ideas? Thanks. Don

I recorded a bunch of tunes back in the early 1980's on a Fostex 8-track machine. I would record 8 tracks, bounce them down to two tracks on a separate machine, then transfer that 2-track sub-mix back to the 8-track machine and have six more open tracks to do overdubs on. At the time, I felt that the sub-mix would sound a bit tighter if I sped it up slightly (40-60 cents), so I often did that when transferring back to the 8-track to do overdubs. I've found those old Fostex tapes and have transferred the original 8 tracks (drums, bass, rhythm guitars, keyboards) plus the 6 overdub tracks (vocals, lead guitars, keyboards) down to Cakewalk. The only problem is that the original 8 tracks are slightly slower than the overdubs, and it's causing all sorts of problems. I've tried audiosnap, but I can't seem to figure out how best to get this to work. Any ideas? Thanks. dB
