Great tune - and cool guitar solo. My only comment would be that the drums are a bit "lost" - they don't seem present enough - but it could be the fault of my speakers.

I don't see it either and on current build (417).

It should be in a Cakewalk subfolder within the Downloads folder in Windows. It seems like it might have been a blip when the installer was just trying to launch the app, particularly if it was when you hit "Finish". If the app is displaying that you're on build 417, it's likely you're fine. That error shouldn't be related to anything actually updating for the app components. If there's any problems,  you might want to just make sure there's nothing unusual going on in Windows like a pending update or anything and then restart and try the installer again if necessary. 

Thanks Jonathan. Won't be back at PC until later and will see if all looks well. I may try running the update again just to see if it reoccurs. No updates were running or pending.

@Jonathan Sasor, I think it was at the end of the update. All seems to be OK. Not sure if I should try applying it again, and I don’t think I saw the update file in my downloads folder. 

Yes, @Helios.G, I was online during update. 

Got notifies of update and installed. All seems to be working but got this error at end of install. Anyone else get this? I submitted a Problem Report.

Thanks for the input @David Baay. I agree that we need to give the Bakers some latitude to process all the user input. I'm confident that they'll address everything in due time. I'm a long-time user and look forward to using Sonar for many years to come!

I mentioned this earlier in this thread. Is it just me or does anyone else find that the ProChannel strip overlaps the track strip? Seems to me that the ProChannel strip should be more to the right and there should be some kind of separation line between the 2 strips.

That was a fabulous interview - it's amazing how he effortlessly recalled events and people in his amazing life. 

I signed up for Backstage Pass trial, then paid for monthly. Got billed $14.95 on March 15th. Today I got an email offering me 50% off but the link takes me to my account page with nowhere to redeem it and tells me I'm already subscribed? Anybody else get this and figure out how to get the 50% off?

On my 4k 3840x2160 @100% the Fader levels are tough to read. They look gray and, um, faded  🤪
It would be nice if the numbers were a bit larger (or you could customize - Themes!!!)

check for the Windows and OS related updates as well. the supposedly backward compatible redistributables can be the cause. like today for me - new KB updates on the OS - so a quick run of the redistributables and rescan VST to be sure. everthing seems to be running normal. i just get into the habit of doing this to avoid finding out i have issues when i'm working on a live project...

Thanks @Glenn Stanton. No Win updates installed, and as mentioned above, build 403 seems to have fixed the issue.

I did not try a reinstall of Sonar yet. I can reproduce the issue, and it seems to only happen with my local projects and with one of my templates.  It does not occur (AFAIK) with the stock templates. This was not happening a few days ago. Wonder if it was the latest update that caused it?

There are a couple of things in the pipeline that should improve the look of Sonar vs CbB.

1. We'll be including a "Tungsten Classic" theme that more closely matches the colours of CbB, and certainly to my eyes has a more preferable contrast to the new Tungsten.

2. We're using a different graphics framework not only for the vector images, but also for drawing text. This is the same framework we're using in Next for cross-platform support.  Unfortunately, because it's cross-platform, the text rendering doesn't look as good on 1080P as it did in CbB.  We have a plan to fix this and will be addressing it very soon.

@msmcleod, will things also improve for 4k 3840x2160?

Note how many menu items are missing! No Close, Save, etc. Also, only File/Edit/Utilities/Help appear. Very weird.

 

It's the menu you expect when there is no project open, when it should be the full menu (when a project is open):

It was happening sporadically, but now it's happening every time I open a Local project. Even if I open multiple projects at the same time, there is no way to switch between them. I have to just exit Sonar to close them all.

If I open Quick Start, use the "Create" option, and then load a template, and all the menu choices re-appear.

Also, sometimes I see 2 instances of Workspaces in the Control Bar with only 1 project open:

And, even if you close the last remaining open project, you still see the 2 instances when the Quick Start Screen is displayed (and there is no project open):

Add me to the list experiencing blurriness in Sonar.

This is on my Samsung 55" Crystal 4k UHD AU 8000 HDR TV, 3840x2160 with Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Gaming OC (rev 2.0), 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM / 7680 x 4320 Max Digital Resolution.

Here are some side-by-side images from CbB and Sonar. Sonar seems more blurry.  I'm clueless when it comes to this vector graphics stuff, just hoping things can be made sharper and maybe with larger fonts - note how much smaller the fader font is on Sonar.

I'm having this issue with Sonar, but not sure it is expected behavior, as I get conflicting messages saying Sonar is fully activated and also that it must be reactivated?

Also strange is that under Help it says this:

I signed up for monthly pass, so I'd assume it would say through 4/16/2024.

Nothing has changed on my system (other than installing Sonar). It did not happen today after a restart last night. Hopefully it was an anomaly, 

"Sonar is now activated"

However, "Sonar must be reactivated within 1 day"

???

Did the update - did not help.
