  1. If Hyper-V got installed in the update, you will have this problem. It practically takes over the network interface setup. If you uninstall it, temporary or not, you will get chance to move the licenses to a USB stick.
  2. Nope, the diaphragm is small and probably crap.
  3. I just realized that the word "capsule" can mean two things. I meant the (donor) body.
  4. Some people by the XLR version (type BM-700, various names) for the capsule, for modding. The stand is decent, the cloth in the pop filter is on the thin side. The capsule is nice, the mikes can be from terrible to OK, they are not all real condenser mikes, but some actually are. I bought one such kit for pittance (called Tonor) and have a descent condenser for it, I indend to mod it. Got a box that provides phantom power with it that is actually nice.
  5. Didn't work for me. Sent in a support ticket that was resolved quickly. Apparently there was no username set in the system. They put one in and worked.
  6. The bookkeeping of the utility is a hit and miss for me. It only recognises recent products (ok then) and shows Lurssen and T-Racks 5 marked as not intalled. That's incorrect. It says it has update for Amplitube 4. Running the update fails. There are other updates that I am not gonna bother to update with this utility. Sound installation is also hit hand miss. I have Syntronix Deluxe installed, it shows some of the packages installed, but they are all there.
  7. If the GUI in Windows 10 annoys you, try http://www.classicshell.net/ Certainly helped with the abomination that Windows 8 and the Microsoft servers had as GUI from that era.
  8. Of Corel products I mostly use Aftershot Pro. My daughter is a subscriber of Adobe CS (she’s a designer/web designer and a much better photographer than I am) and was pleasantly surprised how good Aftershot is. I don’t think the rest of the Corel products are a match of their Adobe counterparts but suffice for me. I can’t justify the subscription price.
  9. Can't remember what I did, probably the same that Canopus mentioned, I got no such spam. The Corel products are great for one dabbling in photography.
  10. Air plugin update.... rare as Supernova in the Milky Way. The version number is exactly the same as before, 3.0.7.19000. That's not very reassuring.. Perhaps only a Catalina update?
  11. To clarify, you only need to keep the key safe, you can at anytime download the media creation tool and build an install image. A home windows version cannot be administrated by a domain or be a part of a domain, although you can login to a fileshare or a printer. This is mainly an issue for those running the domain. I would personally never buy the Home version, but many cheaper laptops have that version preinstalled (non retail version) It is still possible to upgrade from Windows 7 and onward to Windows 10 https://www.zdnet.com/article/heres-how-you-can-still-get-a-free-windows-10-upgrade/ Non retail version licenses are bound the motherboard they are first installed on. It's not a good choice for a homebuilt PC that you might upgrade later. There is no reason to buy a retail key for a computer with preinstalled non retail version unless you want to upgrade from a home version to pro. The home version lacks bitlocker, but still has device encryption (well, if you are interested, google it). The enterprise version is the third version. You only need it in large domains/companies/corporations. Some grey markets (not all) will sell you a key that might have been sold to others. It might work for a while but you can later get in trouble.
  12. Try to run Melodyne Standalone to solve the issue. If you were not using a demo version, the problem could be that it is demoing a higher version than you have, you have more than one version installed or there are issues with activation that you must resolve by contacting Celemony.
  13. I jumped on it. Even though I had large amount of Amplitube plugins, Syntronic Deluxe, Miroslav Philharmonik 2. Sampletank 4SE and about 14 items from T-Racks, it's just an insane amount of value. My reasons? Lurssen, Master Match, Mic Room and Stealth Limiter. I have enough of the rest. But Modo Bass is awesome, far more than I expected. In my experience, All IK products have been stable for me, even old Sampletank2 that I also have. I can understand that some don't like the download and generally the upgrade policy. Now I have many redundant licences...
  14. There is a Google Translate plugin you can use in Chrome that translates nicely. Much easier than other options. Luckily I can still remember most of the german I learned in school.
  15. Waves doesn't. I put it on an USB because their implementation for a network card lock doesn't work if you have a Hyper-V virtual machine installed. In the end, I prefer it that way. But I hate the guts of Ilok, had a motherboard failure 2 months ago. Licenses tied to the motherboard. Slow and painful process getting the licenses back.
  16. You can tie it to a USB key though, similar to Ilok.
  17. Behringer actully did offer Tracktion with some devices. https://www.tracktion.com/news/behringer-bundles-tracktion-4
  18. After looking at previous posts about this synth and the guy behind it, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it.

  20. I chose to have only a short comment as it was getting more and more out of a "deals" discussion, but previous posts were about the communication, although I could say a lot about the opportunities ahead.
  21. This is the essence of the two way communication. From Midi.org "1.1 MIDI Capability Inquiry (MIDI-CI) The additional capabilities that MIDI 2.0 brings to devices are enabled by MIDI-CI. The basic idea is that if devices have a bidirectional connection, they can exchange their capabilities with each other. Devices can share their configuration and what MIDI functions are supported. Devices use a bidirectional link to configure MIDI features when both devices agree to support that feature. MIDI-CI discovers and configures device features using 3 categories of inquiry: Profile Configuration, Property Exchange, and Protocol Negotiation. If a device does not support any new features, it uses the MIDI 1.0 as usual. Devices connected to that device will continue to use MIDI 1.0 in communication with that device. "
  22. You are in luck. The current version of Waves Central is the first one in years that works reasonably. The only workaround for me was to uninstall everything and reinstall. Otherwise Waves Central spewed out errors.
  23. I have P52s at work with 32GB memory and 4K display. The machine itself works fine and is great. But I have a brick shaped Thunderbolt 3 docking station that was extremely unreliable at first but now crashes "only" once a week, was at first 2 times a day. Firmware updates made it more stable. My P52 has never crashed when not plugged in the docking station. My colleague has a conventional looking docking station (also Thunderbolt 3), that his P52s rests on, it has never crashed.
