  1. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?id=ModoSEKrazyDeal2021 and https://www.jrrshop.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Modo&order=relevance&dir=desc I'd like to know, if I benefit from a better upgrade to the real deal by buying Modo Drum SE, when I already have last years Total Studio......
  2. It's absolutely a usable machine and most of us have used slower machines running a DAW. But for the capabilities it is at the threshold where people are throwing away faster machines. I certainly have put together faster machines for kids of friends from parts given away. The nice thing is that a 1TB disk is in the deal, a non SSD of course, that for Windows 10 means that it has to be practically turned on at all times, or you have to be ready to wait over 20 minutes after starting it as the Windows Defender kills all performance while scanning. Windows 10 is designed nowadays to run on an SSD.
  3. Yes, I mean GTX 1060. It's a strange situation but I saw them last year going down to around 120 dollars. Still ebay is the typical opportunist haven, so the prices there are unfair and unrealistic, but local facebook groups or sites are a better bet.
  4. That's why I recommend a second hand GPU right now for beginners. If the kid turns out to be a hardcore gamer, it's easy to upgrade when the market is better. If he won't turn out to be a gamer material, he has at least a decent computer.
  5. Amd and a second hand 1060. Avoid any intel older than 8xxx.
  6. Funny. I bought BIAB this week and was looking here for a post from you about BIAB, that I remember seing. You just gained a subscriber.
  7. Doesn't work in Cakewalk for me, VST3 doesn't even appear as a plugin. Works in Mixcraft though.
  8. Well. I listened few years ago to several test comparisons where one version was mastered by a human and the other by LANDR. I could recognize the human one every single time and it wasn't difficult at all. The main fault was obvious lack of finish in the lower end. Bass sound wasn't distinct enough from other instruments reaching to lower frequencies. Something where human ear can clearly make a distinction, but not their algorithms.
  9. Pathetic, is a word that would descripe a considerably higher number of supported headphones. A somewhat similar program from a competitor, supports at least four of my headphones.
  10. As far as I can see, that means a 149$ minimum, as the next thing cheaper is at 99$, below the 100$ mark. Sneaky.
  11. The website was suddenly working again and I was able to register. I have no interest in doing business with this people in the future. They don't bother to reply to any mail. And who knows how long tthis site will work this time....
  12. I actually have it, got it for 1 cent or something like that. 9 audiofiles that amount to total 20MB. I would wait for a better discount.....
  13. It's impossible to register the plugin as the webpage for registration, http://www.wayoutware.com/ is dead, and has been for quite some time, or so it seems. This is what you get if you buy the plugin from this offer. There might be a newer version elsewhere that works, but that ain't it.
  14. The best method to find false negatives, is to look at the type of purported infection. For false negatives, you will find it usually based on patterns from the 90s or early 2000s and the chance of infection is extremely thin. A lot of engines are repackaged garbage, or even malware, made to milk you dry. The reputable ones let you upload the "infected" file for analyzis, and give you answer in few hours. Almost all active infections today will include rootkit infections, not all virus engines will find them, not even the good ones. That's why I recommend to run online scan and anti-rootkit regularly.
  15. All the hallmarks of a malware. DNS record created on 13. of november 2020. I suggest running online scan at housecall.antivirus.com and anti root kit at https://www.malwarebytes.com/antirootkit/
  16. Grab it until 20th november. https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2020/11/17/t-racks-equal-free/?fbclid=IwAR1jMkoSccsOq26SbymqvL5QXLIGcKIiSqS8vbOyYFAcHX9FqwitenIvDRE
  17. I was just joking, trying to picture an electric harp with Modo Bass and Drums with Amplitube effects, but I agree that the harps instruments at Pianoteq are really great.
  18. Damn, you must be right. But the effect range for a Modo Harp would have been very interesting. Probably not their intent, but the sign reminded me of a futuristic harp...
  19. Programs using the WASAPI through the "new" Windows 10 Audio Engine, should work just fine, in regards to latency. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/audio/windows-threshold--what-s-new-for-audio "In Windows 10 work was done to reduce the latency in the OS. Without any driver changes, applications in Windows 10 will experience 4.5-16ms lower latency. In addition, if the driver has been updated to take advantage of the new low latency DDIs that use small buffers to process audio data, then the latency will be reduced even more. If a driver supports 3ms audio buffers, then the roundtrip latency is ~10ms."
  20. The most sensible way is having the option to have it as Steam does it, with offline option for a time limit of your own choosing, say 1 to 31 days. The current cloud option at iLok is a step towards it, but doesn't work for older licenses. That's a big shame. It would mean no problems if your motherboard fails or disk drive, or for something unpleasant as happens every time Windows updates with XLN Audio plugins
  21. It gives you temporary licenses, but you will still have to contact developers for resetting authorizations.
  22. iLok licenses are tied to the motherboard (that is, if not on iLok key). You motherboard dies, you will have to contact the developers. Some of them will answer after several weeks only, some almost instantly.
  23. I wrote the most probable reason and solution in the original thread.
