  1. It's certainly not perfect - but I'd suggest at $49 it's well worth picking up.
  2. yes - odd that they would wait a month, but we have to remember that the BFD use a different timing system to the rest of the world. A day in BFD land = a month for everyone else
  3. Possibly - but the evidence suggests they are also wanting to gouge as much money out of people as possible. Originally they were going to totally cut many of the PA customers adrift - they have backtracked a LITTLE on that and are happy to welcome you onboard if you pay $169 upfront some of which they may refund. Also they want an additional $15 'admin fee' from PA customers - what is that ?........well it's nothing but a PA Punishment Tax. Why do PA customers have to pay an ADDITIONAL $15 compared to Deskew customers ? What is the $15 actually for ? yes - and they even posted ON THIS FORUM that they knew that PA offered vouchers and sales. They were well aware about it on their own forums too. They are now just looking for excuses to charge you again for the software licence you already bought. --------------------------- Gig Performer 3 is fairly late in it's development cycle - there hasn't been an update for over a year. I'm betting NO additional features will be added. This means that the $169 (ish) payment is actually for bug fixes in the version you already have. That stinks. We can also assume that GP5 (corrected typo!) is around the corner. What they should have done is welcome ALL their existing customers on board, charge them ALL an upgrade fee to get to GP5 (corrected typo!) and move on. Personally I'll vote with my feet and stick with the PA version I have. People who run a company like Deskew don't deserve ANY of my money, they make Waves look like amateurs.
  4. indeed - so I my reply is meant very respectfully..... yes, and I've been with Gig Performer since v3 - via PA. I bought it in good faith - fair and square - with my own money. We should ALL pay for the software we used. great but I'm not sure how your personal career experience is relevant to this current situation ? But I would point out that Deskew NEVER provided support for PA customers - I know because I tried. yes, I bought the PA UNLOCKED version, in good faith. But there isn't a new release ? they are asking for payment to get on the .x updates - although they haven't actually said how many of those updates there will be, if any ? ahh - again you are talking about the PA-locked version...I bought the UNLOCKED version (twice, both v3 and v4) - and why shouldn't I complain ? It's their product but I am still a customer and just because they 'have a right' (not actually true!) to price it any way they want - doesn't make it ok. Basically because they think PA screwed them they are screwing us - great! you too 🕊️ but slightly less of the 'love' to Deskew (on the contrary!)
  5. not really (IMO) ? can you imagine if anyone else did that: Waves: ahh, sorry you bought from everyplugin and they discount....so your licences are worthless to us. Izotope: sorry you bought from JRR with a 'group code' , there is an admin fee if you want to stay with us. NI: sorry, you bought from TimeAndSpace and they don't exist, so you need to pay extra. Toontrack: ohhh, you bought from BestService with their loyalty program and so you need to pay us the extra $$$ etc. Everybody deserves to get paid for their work, including ex-IBM developers, but customers are also entitled to get what they paid for. The $15 'admin fee' is just an extra slap in the face and shows the true reason for the decision - they just want more money $$$ - in some sense this is worse than what Waves attempted. Deskew should be ashamed of themselves - but I feel they are probably not
  6. thanks - wasn't logged in I certainly am - especially now that Deskew trying to 'spin' it as they are doing us a favour.....and still adding on mystery admin fees too - and all the time cllaiming to know nothing about how PA actually does business. FWIW it hasn't been updated for over a year. your mistake and yet your customers have to pay for it - classy move - and nice bit of 'double dipping'. "buy once - pay twice" You say: "Own The Stage" - well it turns out we don't even own our software
  7. I've gotta say that this is pretty poor behaviour from Deskew (IMO) I paid for my licence fair and square - and I used PA voucher codes that I 'earned' by being a regular customer of PA. It's not MY fault that Deskew signed a bad deal with PA. Additionally now they are asking me to buy a FULL PRICE licence and then to put a ticket in to get a partial refund......possibly ? also: An admin fee ! WTF !? where's the 'admin' and how much time does that take. The 'compelling' reasons are not reasons to pay TWICE ! I'm sure the developers are great people but this move totally stinks - hey, some of us are nice people too, we just don't like being milked. FWIW can't see the downloads on the PA website anymore - are we outta luck if we need to reinstall ?
  8. interesting - it's never done that on mine. My SDA seems to have zero knowledge of what is installed. The library manager knows and has a list, including version numbers...but it seems to be keeping that secret from my SDA
  9. nothing here SDA has got to be one of the worst/most useless downloaders of any of the big developers. We still have: Steinberg Download Assistant Steinberg Activation Manager Elicencer manager Steinberg Library Assistant none of which actually seem to talk to each other - and NO way to see if any updates are available.
  10. can't seem to find any version numbers in the SDA - impossible to know @cclarry where did you get the update notification from ?
  11. thanks Larry - any ideas which ones are updated? my SDA never seems to know and I just update manually

    PSP auralComp

just flagging that Hornet have something similar for a tenth the price.
  13. I'm not sure what Nugen plugin you are referring to ? Some of the 'cheaper' plugs are serial but the expensive ones are still ilok. I don't have any of their plugins that I'm not able to update. Nugen support are pretty responsive and I'm sure they will sort you out if you drop them an email.
  14. working fine here on windows ? It did need the "install twice" dance that ALL the labs need but all the patches seem to play

    SSL Meter

it seems to me that this is for the new UF1 controller - which includes it for free. Can't see anyone buying this separately ? It's only being offered for sale so satisfy the anti-subscription type backlash they got when they released some plugins that were locked to the subscription or hardware. Plus if you want to sell the UF1 the SSL Meter licences doesn't transfer so those people will need to buy ! FWIW - UF1 > Cakewalk not supported.
  16. Can anybody see any warning on the NI website that your "ANY plugin for $29.99" isn't actually true ? Seems a bit of a "bait and switch" to me ?
  17. they are just slow to update the page - took a couple of days when they did the update to RX9. The update is there though........if you change 9.12.2 in the file name in the link to the direct download page to 9.13.0, you can download the update directly.
  18. Ozone appears in Native Access and not in your Izotope account

    Super 8 Update

thanks - there was a new Super 8 serial deposited in my NI account
  20. RX10 still comes with a standalone version that can be used in Resolve - are you confusing it with Ozone 9 ? Ozone 10 doesn't have a standalone.
  21. FWIW I spoke to Izotope and they said: Compatibility Updates & Improvements Added macOS Ventura support. Added AAX Apple silicon native support. Added Apple silicon native support to RX 9 installers. Rosetta is no longer required to install RX 9 on an Apple silicon Mac. Bug Fixes Fixed issue in UAD LUNA where all instances of an RX 9 plug-in would become unresponsive to automation upon interacting with a control after adjusting or trimming an RX 9 automation envelope. I'm still confused why they did this for 'legacy' software.
  22. a joke ? it's an update to RX9 as @cclarry mentioned. Latest RX 10 update was in March IIRC. Most of the plugins in RX10 are exactly the same as RX9, my guess would be that it was an easy win to update these plugins to the current RX10 version (10.4.0) and call them 9.4.0 ? no info or release notes on the Izotope website though.
  23. odd that they would update RX9 ?
  24. I think they normally release around 2pm Sweden time (EZbass/EZD3 for example) EDIT - on their FB page they say although I think they got the CET to US time conversion a bit wrong
