  1. I think they've made a bit of a rod for their own back.  We've all grown accustomed to their $29/$49 offers on some of the great plugins and it makes $229 (heavy hitter introductory discount) really high for that new focusrite plug pretty high IMO

edit - piotr beat me too it - same sentiments here

  2. yes, slightly underwhelming at this stage...considering all the hype

I'll wait for the 2 follow up emails before judging

    EDIT

first email is in - so the yearly deal for subscribers (who don't own anything) is $199 per year and the deal for heavy hitters is $179.  $20 discount doesn't seem like a great deal for those of us with a lot of plugs already and who knows what those prices are going to be next year.

    EDIT 2

2nd email is in - the introductory price for the new plugs in not particularly attractive -  I assume that's to encourage you to go for the mega-deal.   Also most of my voucher codes are missing from the email (some of the emails were sent twice, once with codes and once without).

Really nothing at this stage that's in the least bit exciting or groundbreaking here.   I'm probably just going to use my monthly voucher on an existing plug.

  3. just noticed that RME have updated drivers for PCI (e) cards - dated 25th june

    http://www.rme-audio.de/en/downloads/driver/hdspe.php

    Update 4.29, 06/25/2019

    New in TotalMix FX 1.61:

    - ARC USB: New option Push-Off

    - ARC USB: Refresh problem of Key settings fixed

    - ARC USB: Key settings cleanly initialized (change push to encoder)

    - ARC USB: Phantom and Inst did not light up the respective button when active

    - Improved OSC start behaviour with delayed WiFi detection

    - New command line option /nc prevents the confirmation dialog when loading workspaces via command line

not sure I need any of that but newer is ALWAYS better, right ? :)

I liked what I heard on the demo's and video.....sadly, I don't have anything from

Did you get Valves from the Focusrite plugin collection? I only had licenses for Deleight and Distortion 1.

I also just registered with Audiority today, so maybe it's free to all the established accounts....idk?

It sounded pretty good on the video.....how to get it now (preferably  for free) is the question.

"valves" is audiothing not audiority ?

  5. Just an FYI there is a new version of wavelab due soonish, PG (the developer) has stopped working (temporarily) on fixes for 9.5 so he can get version 10 out of the door.

It wouldn't be totally out of character for Steinberg to make any grace period for upgrades AFTER the promo has finished.....but of course it could still be months away.

  6. both nuendo (10.1) and cubase (10.0.30) get their ARA2 updates today - the jury is still out on how stable they are.  They are already talking about fixes in 10.0.40 and as these updates were very delayed and they were under pressure to release something I would suggest hat you proceed with caution.

Does the N3A demo overwrite existing NA or does it install separately? When I got NA I had issues with the installation and had to get workaround from Izotope to solve the problem - can't remember the details now, something to do with vst2 and vst3 conflicts I think - don't wan't to go there again.

the N3 install leaves the existing N2 in place  - some of the plugins are the same so I'm not sure if a uninstall of N3 would remove these, you could take a snapshot of your plugin directories first ?

I have MP2, I wonder how long this sale will last? I would like to upgrade. Thanks for the tip Larry.

it's showing in my upgrades section on the izotope website for $99 - and says "Limited time promotional pricing through June 30th"

  11. ^^^what Larry says

normally when you get an upgrade from SB it asks which licence you want to upgrade - it gives you a list of licences registered in your account.

elements runs on a software elicenser but you need an hardware elicencer to run full cubase - so factor the cost of that into your purchase

No, I just thought that it was the usual iLok activation code.  I haven't installed it yet,
so my apologies.  Have you tried launching it in a DAW and seeing if the "Serial #" Dialoq
    pops up?

Hi Larry - it installs and runs just fine with the just sonible  serial - BUT - it's just  that I'd like to convert to a 'normal' ilok 'dongle' activation and that requires sonible  support.  They remove one of your 'serial' activations (you get 3) and send you an ilok activation.  That's then obviously transportable and lives in your ilok account.

Worth doing IMO if you have an ilok - you still get 2 extra 'serial' activations.

(sorry I wasn't totally clear in what I was wanting to achieve)
