3 months well spent. The sounds/instruments are very good choices. The mix sounds good over here. One of my songs is about a mandatory evacuation I had to do due to a nearby large wildfire threatening my area. I used actual helicopter sounds, some clips from news broadcasts etc. So I think including news and reality clips in a song is a good way to add to the authenticity and add to its meaning as you did here. Good job.

Thank you very much for your feedback! I'm glad you liked the track! I agree that voices and effects bring music add to the authenticity!
    Have a nice day!

  2. This remix is dedicated to the feat of the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, who on April 12, 1961 did the impossible 🚀

The composition contains voices from the mission control center, Yuri Gagarin and the news about the flight.

I calibrated each instrument in terms of sound in accordance with the original track. In total, the work on the track took about three months.
This is probably one of my coolest compositions at the moment.
    Cosmic, symphonic, mind-blowing

And I also dedicate this composition to Ray Lynch himself, who is already 80 years old 🔥

    Hi,

just wondering, is Cakewalk still under development? Are you guys still working on it?

It's silent and while normally we would see a new version every 3 months now there is nothing new since 5+ months and no early access.

    Holger, I perfectly understand you!

Updates are constant and predictable in the all DAWs, but here is a silence.

But let me clarify, what do you really need? What do you lack for creativity and inspiration? Next update? New interface? Some cool plugins?

I would like to share my experience.

I also sometimes catch myself thinking that I want something totally new 😂 And I also think that new cool monitors or a top midi keyboard will help me.
At times like these, I ask myself:
    - When I worked with the 6th or 7th version of Cakewalk Sonar about 15 years ago, did I need updates?
    - All this abundance of plug-ins and synthesizers - do I really need it?
    - Any super-new features of Cakewalk or any other DAW - will help me write a musical masterpiece?

    My intuition tells me "no".

It's been a bit sketchy for me, but if you have Melodyne already you can just drag the wav clip to a MIDI track and it should convert to MIDI. Just depends on how complex the part is if editing will be needed.

Go to Help>Documentation>Using Regional FX>Melodyne>Using Melodyne>See:To convert audio to MIDI.

    Thank you very much!

The problem is solved!!! I found the old version of the project on an another disk! 🔥

  5. Dear friends, I need help!

While working on a project, I accidentally deleted a midi piano part.  And saved the project 😭

As the project is saved on an SSD drive, it is impossible to restore the original version.  But I still have a wav file of the final render.

Who has had a similar experience?

Tell me, please, how can I extract the piano part from this render?  What programs are best for this?  Melodyne?

You can also use the shelf tool:

    ChangeAutoVolume.gif

It's a very useful feature!! Thank you!

But are there in plans to make a possibility working with not only a vertical line for working with envelopes (which is activated by pressing X), but also a horizontal one? Like in the Studio One example?

It would be very convenient! You can not just visually build, for example, the volume, but do it along the line.

You could apply trimming to the clips to shorten them to their new extents.

Just right click on the clip and select "Apply Trimming".  This command is selection based, so if you want to apply to more than one clip, just select the other clips before executing the command.

    Thank you very much!

But how can I understand that Trimming is applied for all my audio clips?

Is there any check mark for visual understanding that the effect is applied? I think it would be great to add this feature in future releases 🙌

  8. Hello, there!

Colleagues, I faced an unusual problem.

I have 3 audio files in my project, with a total duration of about 20 minutes. And some VST synth tracks.

I edit these audio files for the purpose of grid binding. As a result, I get about 50 or 100 small segments. The original files are not changed.

And here is the problem itself: the more small segments of audio inside the project become, the longer the project opens and saves.

It can takes about 5-7 minutes and appears windows 10 system pop-up window , indicating that the program is frozen, and it is proposed to wait, or exit the program.

I paid attention to the swap file. While I'm working on the project, it starts to take up 33 GB, and after rebooting the system it takes 16 MB.

Perhaps the fact is that the Cakewalk uses non-destructive audio editing.

My computer: intel core i5 10400f, 16gb ram, ssd drive. Cakewalk version is 2022.11 (build 021).

Question: how to solve this problem, and how to record and process subsequent projects with long audio files?

    When Using as controller:
(PLAY, STOP) A-Pro Hardaware "ACT" button on = ?

For your case A-Pro Controller will not work.
It provides only the automation of the console, tracks, synthesizer and effects that are written in it.
    I couldn't fix it )))

Everything worked for me (for your case) only when nothing is included in the control surface.
Otherwise, the parameters will be duplicated (with A-Pro Controller).
And I turned "ACT" button off.

Try to do the same by removing the controller from the control surface

  10. @sadicus

    I also own a Roland A300 😅
For example, I'm using an electric piano, but your synthesizer should work from the same principle.

    1. You should check your A300 connection settings in control surface.

    2. Then you need to go into the Remote Control module, press the Learn and turn the Rotary Knob 9 at the same time. After that, press OK

    Everything should work!

  11. Many DAWs (Cubase, Ableton, Studio One, Reaper, Bitwig) have convenient functions for working with midi and envelopes from the computer keyboard or a laptop.

Many tasks can be implemented from the keyboard (via hot keys), and not just with the mouse.

Those who have experience with these DAWs understand what I mean.
I don't write orchestral music 😅 but already at this stage I am faced with the fact that I have to make a lot of mouse movements to edit midi and envelopes. And it really slows down the workflow.

Editing the piano part in the new composition took me a very long time 🙄

I propose to discuss and implement several features.

    1. Working with the notes by keyboard in the Piano Roll.

Switch to editing the next or previous note in the Piano Roll. Lengthen or shorten a note. Combining groups of notes and working with them from the keyboard.
There are no such functions in CakeWalk.
You have to make a lot of mouse movements and spend a lot of time working with the midi part.

    2. Working with envelopes with the keyboard

Working with envelopes in Cakewalk is also available only with the mouse, although it would be extremely convenient to mark points and then work with these envelopes from the keyboard (raise, lower, move right or left).
Here, too, you have to make a lot of mouse movements and spend a lot of time working with automation.

I don't want to use other DAWs, so I want my favorite program to become better and more convenient! 🔥

Dear developers! Can these additions be planned for future releases?

Dear colleagues, I ask you to support my proposals so that it can enter the next releases!

    Hi Asato

I had a listen, it was pleasant enough but i did think far too long.

Perhaps a little editing might help

I do think this could be pretty good apart from the length

    Cheers

    Nigel

    Hello, Nigel!

    It's an ambient composition, I think 😅

I wanted to immerse the listener in a special meditative mood.

But I understand what do you mean!

    Thank you for the listening!

Might be better if you post the song somewhere where the listener doesn't have to have an account or post it on Bandlab  where I think everyone here has an account.

    -Bjorn

Bjorn, thank you for the feedback! It's a very good idea to post on Bandlab! Have a good day
