  1. I have been using the Nektar LX49+ keyboard very successfully with Cakewalk. The Nektar LX+ is one of the few keyboard series (25-, 49-, 61- and 88-key versions) that have mappings specifically for Cakewalk and they are pretty good not just for triggering notes, but also for controlling the DAW and various virtual instruments. It is a shame that more manufacturers don't include Cakewalk integration in their products. I guess because it's free, they view it as a lesser product than, say, Ableton or Reason, etc. =
  2. I tried using Zampler with Cakewalk on another computer and it showed up and worked fine. Somehow, I guess my .pgl file got corrupted. I tried manually adding Zampler to .pgl using an XML editor, but that didn't work out for me either. The solution, finally, was to delete the old plugin file and rebuild a new one. Lesson learned.
  3. [Note: I changed the title and the topic of this post after realizing that the problem was not with Zampler, but my plugin layout file.] Hi, guys. I know some of you have used Zampler, so maybe I'm doing something wrong. I just downloaded Zampler 2.5 from Beat magazine, installed the vst (dll) in the appropriate directory (X:/Program Files/Vstplugins), and fired up Cakewalk. Here's the weird part: although Zampler shows up in thePlugin Manager's list of VST2 instruments and I can add it to my Instrument Layout file, it just never "sticks" -- meaning that it never actually shows up in my instrument list and can't be selected. And, yes, I did remember to save the updated Layout file. This is the only plugin I've had this trouble with. Anyone else experience this? Suggestions welcomed.
  4. Thanks for your help, 905133. Appreciate it!
  5. Just saw your image -- yes, that's what I want to do. But I'm wondering what element I need to change to make that happen.
  6. I should have been clearer. All I really want to change is the color of the icons in the browser.
  7. I am using the Mercury theme and would like to know how to change the colors of 32-bit and 64-bit VST3 plugins as they appear in the Plugin Browser so that they are not the same color (blue) as the old DX plugins. I tried changing these using the theme editor (Theme Editor-->Browser-->Plugin Browser-->Plugin Types), but the changes I made were not reflected in the drop down list. Can someone help me out with this?
  8. Since several people (including me) have been looking for the Dimension Pro manual in a format that's more accessible than the help file, I converted that file to a PDF. Hope this is useful to someone out there. Dimension Pro Manual.pdf
  9. Sorry to resuscitate a year-old topic, but I also tried to load Proteus VX in Cakewalk... and got the same results as the OP. However, when I load it as a VSTi in Cakewalk Music Creator 6 Touch (basically a stripped-down version of Sonar X2 that was available a few years ago), it runs perfectly. The UI appears and all presets are available. The only reason I can think of is that MC6 Touch must be a 32-bit application. Anyway, I now save any Proteus tracks to audio tracks and use those in Cakewalk.
