  1. I picked it up too. Only had 10 mins to play with it. I like it. Sounds great. Comes with some MIDI but clearly needs a lot more.
  2. Falcon plus the UVI libraries is pretty awesome, if you have the CPU to run it. I think they could do so much to make that better/multi-threaded.
  3. My question is doesn't some of the "magic" of fretless vanish when you sample it? MODO Bass in theory may do fretless better than any sample based bass (because of the simulation). Though perhaps with enough round robins it won't really matter that much. Seems kind of like the violin sampling problem. But bass lines tend to be the same note over and over and over a bit more.
  4. I will admit I had fun playing with the ACID loop products I got from the Humble Bundle vouchers plus the three they sent for the 10.5 update. I still love the loop work flow. Though I finally did switch the color scheme back to light. In dark mode you can't see the indent showing you the loop point very well unless the loop is selected. Kind of surprised they removed the stem maker feature (not that it worked that well to be honest).
  5. There was another Acid Pro update this weekend. It's still calling itself 10.0.5 but they updated something. Did install correctly for me, so some progress. The Store background exit still crashes on exit though. It also appears they have removed the Stem Maker feature. The button is in the toolbar list but it is gray. I think they have disabled it. And all mention of it from the website is gone. Their forum (which has no links to the website anymore that I can find) are referring people to open support tickets. Looks like they disabled it and are trying to act like it didn't exist.
  6. Or you could subscribe to Readly for one month. That would get you every issue of Computer Music back to March 2015. It will take a crazy amount of time but you can add all of them to FileSilo. You also get Beat magazine in German and English back to July 2020. While many of the offers have expired or are no longer redeemable, it's a crazy amount of magazine wear. And I think Readly is offering two months free now, so you might be able to sign up and then cancel (don't hold me to that they have a lot of promotion deals and the terms may have tricks) https://us.readly.com/ They also have a ton of other computer music magazines, including Electronic Musician, Future Music, Music Tech and lots of instrument magazines like Guitar Player, etc. Yes it's $10 a month, but at least for me it's worth it. The only major computer music magazine they don't have is Sound On Sound.
  7. Just wanted to update, AAS did finally get back to me about the crashing on exit their 4.40 update series were causing. They sent me a hot fix test build and it fixes my crash issue. Not sure when it will be released into the world, but I'm pretty happy they are fixing it. I may have to add CV-1 to complete my collection.
  8. Using NoteMapper, RandARP and FM8 (I don't have Dexed installed but I don't think it actually matters what the final audio synth is) I was able to reproduce your bug. The inter-track midi routing is lost when loading the track template. In case Cakewalk needs them those MIDI generating synths are all freely available on the net.
  9. It looks like your using simple instrument tracks and assigning their outputs to the inputs of other simple instrument tracks. Then saving and loading a track template of a group of them (which isn't the same thing as loading/saving a project). I almost never use the simple instrument tracks, which might explain why I've never seen these reassignment issues. And I'm not surprised that track templates can't restore the MIDI routing correctly to be honest, when the routing involves other simple instruments. Does this happen if you split everything into separate audio and midi tracks? It might be useful if you were to write the exact steps to reproduce the bug(s) as text, it's very hard to follow the animated GIF. You should also list/name the synths you are using (and if they are VST2 or VST3). Those kinds of details can be very important. If you can create a 100% reproducible set of steps, the odds Cakewalk will be able to fix it goes up a lot. In this case I think you have a lot of factors including simple instrument tracks, track templates, and synths with outputs. Each part of that mix has been know to have issues for one reason or another. Combining them all together I'm not completely surprised it doesn't work right. Yes I know that doesn't help much. This specific issue you are showing also may not be related to your overall issue either (of MIDI routing being lost in projects) this might just be one of dozens of situations where the routing can be lost.
  10. I'm thinking maybe Groove Monkey MIDI files? I really wasn't using BFD3 all that much to be honest. If I did lose something it was definitely a 3rd party thing.
  11. I didn't have any problems migrating but I owned none of the expansions. Though now that I think about it I may have lost something when I deleted/uninstalled the old version. I may need to look. I might have installed something that wasn't from them and just didn't realize it in my zeal to clean up and move to the new stuff.
  12. Here's a translation of the email I got (with my serial number removed):
  13. Google Translate. Copy and paste. https://translate.google.com/
  14. Kind of disappointed with them. Still no response at all from AAS about their latest release crashing on exit in every DAW for me. I've sent them two emails (a week apart) and they haven't bothered to reply at all.
  15. I was able to re-buy 3 (for $1 each) more using Paypal this afternoon. (after doing all 9 before). But it wouldn't let me use Amazon payments again. So it is reseting at least Paypal. Didn't try the direct credit card. None of the Sony/Acid sound effects seem to be on sale though. Just the normal Acid Loops.
  16. If you subscribe on Zinio or any place other than direct you don't get the PDF versions and can't read them on the website until they become available to everyone (not sure what the schedule for that is). By doing this though you can get the subscription for a large discount. I switched my sub from direct to Zinio because the savings were substantial.
  17. They still are trying to keep the post production stuff separate which is a mistake (the music engineer/video engineer line is not clean). Neither of these two subscription levels really even match what I already have. If they want me to subscribe they have to offer totally new products that I don't already own. I already have everything in the Music Productions Suite Pro, I'd get nothing new for my $124.95. I think I'll pass.
  18. Sadly my Zinio sub is for the US version. Can't extend it with this one.
  19. Try adding /NOVSTGROVEL /NODXGROVEL to the shortcut for the exe. At least for SoundForge that stops the VST scanning. Might work on Vegas. I uninstalled Edit 15 so I can't test.
  20. So does Opus fix the issue with not playing the release tails on notes unless everything is fully loaded into ram? I gave up on Play and HO when I got tired of renders missing huge chunks of the audio. Unless they addressed that, I can wait.
  21. I have Diamond from upgrading from Gold. So technically I have both. But it looks like I can only upgrade Diamond. Then I will be stuck with Opus Diamond and Play Diamond and Play Gold. For a crazy high price compared to a full purchase. I'm just having a hard time seeing the value here. If they had released Opus player even with a price for the older Play libraries I might be able to see. But as things stand, I'm going to have to gamble that they will at least repeat this intro upgrade pricing or I'll decide I don't care and will never upgrade.
  22. I used my voucher on Bass-Mint seemed like a reasonable deal, I really like Unfiltered's stuff and this was the only one I was missing.
  23. They are pretty nice. Definitely worth it at that price. Provided of course you'd actually use them (my problem).
