Hmm just spent $52 with them yesterday and the bucks offer was $2.5.  Doesn't equate 10%

Sorry - my bad. Now that you mention it, I think it depends on the product. Just clicking on random products, I can see that you'll get $9.90 DeluxeBucks for Zynaptiq WORMHOLE (currently $99.00); but $2.31 DeluxeBucks for Robotic Bean Hand Clap Studio ($29.00); I also seem to remember that some don't qualify for them at all.

Just a bit sad about JRR. Used to get my fix there. That said, also still like Time+Space.

Time+Space are good too. They offer 5% money back in points, plus 500 points per review (only from the email that they send you with each purchase) - that's the equivalent of £2.50. They sometimes offer unique specials, and the occasional one-off coupon. Support is very good too from my experience so far.

I've always liked Audio Deluxe because I like the layout and navigation on that site. But PB has been getting my business lately in part because of their freebies.

Audio Deluxe has the best money-back loyalty scheme - 10% in DeluxeBucks. PB gives you the equivalent of 5%; you get monthly freebies and reward tokens though (which you can either trade for more freebies, or further money back).

Do you have to use the voucher all in one purchase or do you get "credits" you can spend anytime afterwards? (Too lazy yo look it up, sorry.)

When I read the Ts & Cs last (which was a while ago), you have to use it all in one go.

Oddly the installer still asks me for 32 bit path.

Probably to remove the 32-bit versions.

My guess is that they remove them so that you don't get into a situation where the plugin can behave differently under different hosts, e.g. the newer 64 bit version in one host, and the older and buggier 32 bit version in another host that can't support the 64 bit version.

Toontrack treats existing customers like crap and tries to fleece them. I got rid of everything I had from them , which was quite a bit.  I despise them.

Ironically, the worst way that you could have 'punished' them was to keep it - by selling it on (assuming you did), whoever you sold it to would probably continue to support them based on what you sold to them.

I think the limited time upgrade thing wasn't cool, but I don't think they try to fleece people significantly more than any other company - they have 50% sales (or maybe its 40% - can't remember) on their drumkits usually at least once a year. They also have previously done 12-days-of-Christmas sales where they offer some stuff at good discounts - I managed to pick up EZKeys Classic Electrics for ~£20.

They wanted something like $300+ for people to upgrade to Superior Drummer 3 even if they purchase 2 in the last year and only even offered that outrageous pricing for a few months then took away the upgrade option.

I do remember upgrades being a limited-time thing, but I think $300 might have been the full price (rather than upgrade); my upgrade was ~$170.

The idea of recreating an analog recording chain in the box is to use a tape sim on each track or bus/aux track/sub-group along with console/preamp/hardware emulations.

The only plugin I can do this with that doesn't grind my PC to a halt (though admittedly I haven't tried that many different plugins) is Overloud TapeDesk.

The Tape Machines are not very useful as they crush CPU cycles into dust.

It's true that they're very CPU heavy, but I find that a single instance of Tape Machine 24 on the master bus adds a sprinkling of magic and doesn't grind my DAW to a halt.

😮  You're right!   Now that I read it, my email says: expires March 29 - 11:59 PM California Time!!  Who ever heard of a "monthly voucher" ending TWO DAYS BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH!??   That's bogus.

Monthly vouchers expiring before the end of the month are usually a sign that there will be some sort of sale.

  13. BELA D MEDIA'S STIRRING VOCAL SAMPLE LIBRARIES FOR KONTAKT WILL ADD SPLENDOUR AND EMOTION TO YOUR MUSIC...

For one week only, you can save an extra 40% on top of the current 50% off sale on all of Bela D Media's vocal libraries giving you a total saving of 70% off!!

    https://www.timespace.com/

@Reid Rosefelt I seem to remember you're a fan of the Native Voice libraries (SORA, MAYA); do you know if the libraries allow pitch shifting (so you don't have to write in exactly the same key as the phrases)?

It looks like the expansion version might be pricey as you qualify for the 4 for 3 deal if you get it.

If there are other libraries that you don't have, the best time for this offer would probably be (IIRC) near the end of the year when they have their best-prices-of-the-year sale, as you can benefit from both discounted product prices, and the fourth product free. That said, it'll most probably be outside of the best-intro-price period for this one.

Under LogMeIn's ownership (but predating Francisco's) the price doubled then tripled, to be fair not highway robbery: $1 to now $3 a month. I used to gladly pay $12 a year, but never actually needed the paid version and quit before it tripled.

In February they told free users they could not use it both on desktop pc's and mobile devices without paying, which is one of the main points of the product. Users who had been with them for years, even a decade, were given the choice of paying up or moving out.

I'm not that surprised by that - LogMeIn used to have a free remote-desktopping tool that they one day decided would be discontinued in favour of their paid-for version.

Heck I do have Office 365 subscription as it does make sense for me!  Corel Draw went Sub and I realized I didn't use it enough to justify the price.

Me too. And like you, I've started using Affinity stuff.

I originally learned CorelDRAW because they gave a free copy away with a printer

Didn't Revalver come free with previous versions of Sonar?

I'm pretty sure I've got it on my system...yep, just checked. It came with Platinum.

IIRC that was ReValver (1) SE. I think it's at version 4 now.

I could see dropping support for 32 bit and not including new version in the installer.  But I don't understand why they (and other developers) feel the need to delete existing 32 bit installations.

Maybe it's to ease potential support issues: if they only install 64 bit you could end up in a situation where you have e.g. v2.8 64-bit and v2.4 32-bit. People might then get confused as to why something works in one host (that's using 64-bit), but doesn't in another host (that uses the 32-bit). Another reason might be that the installer does an exact file-directory sync. All just guesses on my part though.

Still not enough for me, I am waiting for 70% off, plus full compensation of your Optometrist fees, and free industrial strength eye protection. 😇

    Depends if you're a first-time buyer.

    It's currently a 60% sale, meaning that you're paying 40% price.

Use someone's referral code and you get 20% off 40%, meaning that you're only paying 32% of the original price.

Paying 32% original price means that it's effectively a 68% discount.

If you have any credit (e.g. new account signup credit), you can drive the price down even lower.
