Once I figured out the WA plugin authorization system - I put a pause on purchases at any level with them.
Not a fan of companies that give you a couple installs then you have to contact support to see if they will reset to allow you to install again. Hopefully I get use out of composer at some point - that is the only thing I paid "real" money for.
Wasn't aware of this; thanks for letting us know.

I like Overloud. They make some great plugins and offer free updates.

Windows programs can only be native to UNIX or Linux (or vice versa) if their program binaries have been compiled specifically for the target OS.
True, though the line is ever-so-slightly blurred for Linux software running on Windows using the Windows Subsystem for Linux. Still, I wouldn't hold my breath for running something like a DAW in WSL (yet?).

No plugin can ever hope to escape the gravitational pull of Ed's plugin collection, and the field grows progressively stronger with each new addition 😁

No, but you should get an email with a code that makes NEOLD U2A $99.99, and combine your voucher with that.

But how would you pronounce that?
Maybe A-ca-ca-cu-cu-ba-boo-ga? 😁

Dang, @antler already noticed. Anyway, I’ll leave it up here for the free Player. So you can run it all free.
Not quite - I posted a deal for the (paid-for) Platinum version with 250 IRs.
Looks like Hybrid Free is a taster version with 10 IRs, but is free. So this is a deal in its own right!

EXTREME MODULAR ENVIRONMENTS is an amazing and unique sound design tool that allows you to quickly and easily create dense and complex ambiences based on modular sources, ranging from musical pads through to extreme sounds to give you almost limitless sound design capabilities. Many of the sounds are from the creator Si Begg’s personal library of sounds and have been used in trailers, scores, and other compositions. The sounds used were intended for use in a wide variety of projects, but broadly speaking they are particularly suited to cinematic or experimental music where you need something atmospheric, rich and with a contemporary feel.
IMPORTANT: The included Kontakt Files require a full version of Kontakt 6.7.1 or later.
They will not work in the FREE Kontakt Player.$39.95

HYBRID REVERB SOURCES. UNIQUE SOUND TEXTURES
Hybrid is a Reverb Impulse library, designed by Sabino Cannone (MoReVoX), that synthesizes the fascinating life of the real spaces with the soundness of the digital reverb units. Up to ten multiple reverb sources have been spread in the stereo field and mixed together using Tube summing mixers in order to achieve unique textures.
A collection of 250 IRs and 100 individual presets
The custom MoReVoX IRs developing process based on the harmonic distortion is in Hybrid Platinum at its best; the biggest part of the Hybrid processing has been done with multiple stages of Analog processing in order to increase as much as possible the harmonics contents.
The library is created for REmatrix, the first multilayer convolution reverb based on a new concept of reverb creation.

Thanks for sharing.
It's the first time I've seen a video from that guy, but I like his style - I appreciate the unbiased opinion.

I'm trying to avoid impulse buys, but getting Augmented Voices and piano for $29 seems too good a deal to pass up. $14.50 each! Less the price of many preset patch sets.
I'm probably misunderstanding what you're saying, but please be sure of what you're buying: Cinematic Trio is a 3-pack of sounds/presets.

For the sake of argument, what is likely the best (sale) price for an sdx 3-pak/value pack that one could reasonably hope for (BF?) ?
Seems to be in the ~$325 range currently. Does/did it ever get down below $300? $270?
I can't remember a single time when Toontrack multi-packs (Drum Midi/EZ Keys Midi/SDX 3-pack) went on sale; I'm guessing this is because they already represent a discount vs buying the individual items.
Your best best is probably to wait for a store-wide coupon. T+S used to do these (but are unfortunately out of business). Best Service sometimes have something like $20/$40 tiered vouchers.

"Aging
The quest for referencing “The One” hardware unit
is pretty much in vain, simply as it does not exist after
all these decades. The electroluminescent panel
and the photocells inside the T4B circuit as well as
further electronic components are subject to aging
effects which significantly alter the compression
characteristic of each individual device.
The Aging knob makes use of this phenomenon by
granting control over the physical material constants
of the EL panel and the LDR components inside
the T4B cell. Basically, this lets you blend from
a stock unit with a brand new opto cell to a very
old device after decades of operation. This complex,
non-linear behavior modification impacts sound as
well as compression characteristics."
This obviously rolls off highs.
If the peak control is set to 0, the plug in can be used as a saturation plug in with no compression.
"R37
Basically a relic from its roots in broadcast, the R37
trimmer controls the response of an emphasis filter
inside the sidechain circuit. Turning the screw
counter-clockwise attenuates the lower frequencies
in the sidechain signal which results in a higher
sensitivity of the compressor to HF content. Like
on the original, flat is fully clockwise."
I saw the short lines and initially thought it was/tried to read it as a poem. Only half way down did I realise that it's just columnized text 😂

Said every studio musician when synthesizers came on to the market.
There's a slight difference though. You can copyright and earn royalties off a track made with synthesizers; I don't think you can do that with AI generated music.
Makes no difference in my case though; I would need to finish some tracks before I have anything to sell 😁

Interesting how the video equates a modern-day riser to a classical-period crescendo; I'm guessing crescendos are no longer viable because dynamic range has pretty much been eliminated in modern day mixes.

Looks like the issue has been resolved; I got a correct serial.

I DO occasionally use Izotope Mastering Assistant to slam out a quick reference for a client on the road to final mixes, but it (the interaction with AI) stays in the studio building, not out in the cloud
I think that's an important point that many overlook. Some cloud-based AI solutions run on a neural network and we don't know 100% what they do. ChatGPT was recently banned in Italy because of GDPR; it takes in data but it's impossible to extract, correct, or remove the data that's been input.

My excel file says NY Studios 1, 2, 3 were $42 each (was that this past BF?), rock warehouse was $44, metal foundry was $49 and progressive foundry was $56.
By any chance were these bought in the era when you could only buy boxed DVD products?

Yup, already have done first two steps, multiple times, tried three different drives (NAS, Samples drive and Projects drive) each time making sure the download folders I select in IK PM was abso empty.
Moving on to steps 3 - 6.Good luck. Let us know if you manage to fix it; it might be helpful if we ever get into the same situation.

Any advice
The error suggests it’s trying to use a corrupted file. Losing power during a write operation could have caused that. In no particular order, I would suggest:
- Change the download folder (though it looks like you’ve already given that a go).
- Go to the download folder and delete (or move) everything in it including any hidden files. I probably wouldn't remove any system files, though there shouldn’t be any in there.
- Turn on Windows Sandbox. It’s a Windows Feature that you can turn on and off, designed for running ‘risky’ software. Running it will give you a pristine Windows environment and closing it will discard everything. Install and run IK PM in there to do your downloads, and copy the zip files out before closing it down.
- Uninstall/reinstall the IK PM.
- Contact IK support.
- Ask if Peter has any ideas.

I don't know what it is about Native Access, but at least they're consistent. In v1, every time I started it, I got a message at the bottom saying that Reaktor Player 6 had been successfully installed. Every time.
I get that with Kontakt 7 Player.

Plugins like Mastering the Mix Expose and ADPTR Streamliner will help you with target loudness levels for the various platforms. From the Expose release notes, it looks like Spotify is -14 LUFS ±2dB.
My advice (for what it's worth) would be to aim for -14 LUFS. That way you'll have a good amount of headroom to preserve dynamics. Dynamics are important because they are what keeps your song sounding punchy where it needs to be, and also preventing ear fatigue. I have a few CDs from circa 2000 during the loudness wars. They sound great when you start playing them because of a psychoacoustic phenomenon that makes louder sound 'better'. Problem is, the constant loudness starts to grate after a while and it's not that pleasant to listen to the whole album even though the music's good.
If it's too quiet, it'll get turned up. If it's too loud, it'll get turned down. But nothing can restore the dynamic range. If it's mastered too loudly, you'll end up with a squashed and quiet song that will sound weaker than one that fully utilises the available dynamic range.
