  1. Hi all, Recently purchased a new PC 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700K 3.40 GHz, 1 16 core - 8P + 8E, 24 threads 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 48GB (2x24GB) 5200MHz Motherboard: GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS ELITE AX WiFi 6E GPU/Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT (8GB) Windows 10 pro Using - Focusrite Scarlett-Solo Gen2 USB Audio Interface Previous PC: 8th Gen Intel 6-Core i5-8400 Upto 4.0GHz, 6 thread RAM: 64GB, 64 bit operating 1TB SSD Plus 1TB HDD, Wifi, GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Windows 10 Professional Used - Focusrite Scarlett-Solo Gen2 USB Audio Interface I installed cakewalk and the programs isn't running well. The engine load and later buffers are constantly glitching out causing pops and clicks to be recorded. Recording is teeth grinding now having to constantly stop and redo the take because of some pop or crack that occurred during the recording of the take. I'm using literally the same VSTs as in my previous PC. I've read through the forum and saw some old posts about this but all suggestions in those posts have not resolved my issues. The first screenshot is all the tracks turned off and raw, yet the engine load and buffers are still glitching. I've played with the buffer size maxing it out to 23.3 but the latency is so big it becomes impossible to play along and the glitches still occur. I tired clean install and spent 8 hours, installing and downloading all the plug-ins and everything is still glichy. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, checked drivers and updated whatever needed updating. Gojira, fabfilters, metallurgy, guitar pro 6, neurontube are some of the plugins I use and I also use free ones like Emissary, NadiR and other miscellaneous decent free plugins. Pretty much the same 64bit plug ins I used in my previous PC. With my previous PC, I only had plugins in a few tracks on when recording while the rest were off. I would adjust to 1024 samples if I wanted to hear everything on at the same time. I've disabled many programs from running in the background and I'm at a loss of what to do. Maybe there is something I'm missing that I'm not doing. I've read, re-read and re-read again through the forums and everything is starting to blend into each other. As per the first screenshot, the CPU is at 2% and ram is only 27% when the tracks are all playing (all on) with 44100 sample rate 144 buffer but the program still glitches. I've played with the sample rates and buffer sized to no avail. The bottom screen shot is of empty tracks yet there are still late buffers and engine load is high!??!?? Any and all suggestions welcome.
  2. Maybe the M key got stuck after I smashed the keyboard a few hundred times out of frustration 😡 You are correct, the stutter went away. My KB is not wireless and I don't eat or drink anything but water in my studio. I have since vacuumed the KB anyways. Oh, how quick some people are to make stupid comments before even asking what type of trouble shooting someone has done. Because you know, looking to see if there are thousands of markers is "the most basic troubleshooting" Well played.
  3. So after much digging it turns out that cakewalk was creating unnecessary markers everywhere. Looks like markers on top of markers on top of markers with multiple markers on the same time. 010th of a second at times (if I'm reading the numbers correctly I'd say they were in the 10's of thousands judging by the scroll. After deleting all the markers the program worked as before. Below us a screen shot of the markers of one song. First SS is start second SS is the end. This makes very little sense to me. I know I've been using the same template for the songs. I just deleted all the tracks, adjust temp if needed and start recording again. I suppose it's possible that the markers weren't deleted and more were added over time.
  4. Thank you all for replying. My specs are: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8400 CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.81 GHz processor, 64.0 GB ram, windows 10 pro, I have a basic sound card nothing special. This happens with every project I have now and at times I can't even open up a project. Everything works just fine when I'm zoomed in at 1/64, 1/32, 1/16 but starts lagging at 1/8 (snap notes) I've deleted the picture cache folder which does not help. I haven't tried trouble shooting by removing plugins but I will attempt to today. I will also look to see if I have the most current updates for my pc eg. sound, graphics etc.
  5. My cakewalk is starting to be very difficult to use. There is a massive delay whether I zoom in or out using alt + mouse scroll. Usually 6 to 10 seconds and sometimes up to 15 seconds. Seems as though the further I zoom out the longer the delay. Also delays for 5s - 10s when I scroll using ctrl and mouse direction. I haven't changed any settings and the only thing I've literally installed in 10 months are the updates. Buffer size 23.2msec/1024 samples I also have a latency issue I never had before. I've tried .20sec /8samples and still lags behind. I find each new update is making my cakewalk more unstable than the previous update. Each update I keep saying I won't install new updates but I do in the hope of more stability.
