  1. This is interesting. In my experience, admittedly limited, every Pro Tools operator employs punching virtually exclusively. While there are instances where that makes a lot of sense and is more efficient, there are many other times when it eliminates the the possibility of getting a better take or even a better passage than the one where just a small segment is being replaced with a punch. I have not really driven a Pro Tools system so I don't know how difficult comping is in that workflow, but there are so many applications where comping just seems to be a better approach and I am so used to doing it with Cakewalk.
  2. Make sure you have checked for updates to EZD3. There were some issues with the initial release but Toontrack did an update fairly quickly that addressed them. Latest version is 3.0.5. Second, are you adding EZD3 as a simple instrument track or as an Instrument Track per Output with a MIDI source track?
  3. Well, thank you. That was embarrassingly easy.
  4. I was doing some comping on an audio track this afternoon and when I finished and had done a bounce to clips I found that the clips pane no longer scrolled with the Now Time marker during playback. I did a search on this forum which led me to a related discussion from a couple of months ago. From that I went to the Options menu in the track view, Click Behavior sub-menu and discovered that the Left Click Locks Scroll was enabled . I disabled it but the non-scrolling behavior persists. Did I miss something or are there other thinks I can attempt? Thanks for any help.
  5. The newest ToonTrack update to EXDrummer 3 appears to have resolved the issue where trying to insert EZD3 into a project caused CWB to crash. Update available via the ToonTrack product page. I'm not sure when it was released but I just downloaded/installed it now.
  6. New EZDrummer 3 update appears to resolve the issue.
  7. Thanks, Terry Kelley. This worked for me. I do look forward to the fix from Toontrack however.
  8. Each time I open Cakewalk I get the message box asking if I want to allow Cakewalk to make changes to this device. I am used to getting that message when installing an upgrade. However, since I upgraded to 2021.11 I get that message each time I open the program. Is this to be expected or am I missing a setting that will end that behavior?
  9. Thanks. I had not read that section and it has the best explanation of what is going on that I have read. Interesting that the Reference Guide recommends placing the Console Emulator first in the chain while Craig A. recommends that it be last. (Thanks for the link to that video, Jackson White.) I'm curious as to the reasoning behind each approach.
  10. Thanks, scook. Boy, that answer wasn't even that long ago. I swear I did a search before I typed all that out.
  11. I recently bought a Microsoft Surface device and have finally gotten around to trying to install CWB on it. I also have an installation on a desktop PC which is my primary. Anyway, I installed Bandlab Assistant, signed into my account, downloaded CWB and started the installation. What I figured to be about 2/3 of the way through the install it stopped and gave me this error message - DLL/OCX RegSvr 32 failed. Exit code 0x3. It gave a choice of 'Abort', 'Retry' or 'Ignore'. I hit Abort, the computer hummed away for a couple of minutes and closed BandLab Assistant. I tried again - same thing. This time I tried Retry - same result. I tried Ignore. It returned the same error message a few times so I finally hit abort. Then I thought I might try installing Sonar Platinum. Downloaded Command Center, signed in, downloaded Platinum, started the install - same error message at about the same place in the install. Microsoft Surface Pro 7, i5 processor, 8GB RAM, Windows 10 Home (updated today). Any thoughts on what to try next? Thanks in advance.
  12. I met Mike Balzarini at the booth at AES in New York last fall. He is a great asset for BandLab and Cakewalk. He is both knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Cakewalk by BandLab , an affable guy to talk with and interested in hearing user feedback. I hope he is around for a while.
