I'm a guitar player who loves Dave Gilmour and Mark Knopfler, and my guilty pleasure is 80s hair metal so I know a lot of solos - and this unlikely monster is my favorite.

Chances are you've heard this song but NOT the solo, as they chopped off the like 80% or so on the radio version. In the video go to 2 minutes and 38 seconds and be amazed by the ferocity and accuracy of this dude's bending and his right hand technique. He was machine on this thing - and it's a long solo!

My friend and I got to see them play in a small bar in California once.  We ended up sharing a table right in front of the band with this little older lady who was dancing and singing along to every song!  During the break, the lead guitarist came over and introduced us to her:  His Mom!  She had never missed a gig.  Very cool story. 😊

This is pretty awful, but I bet you watch the video to the end.

Bad Gyal, Anitta - Bota Niña

It's even funnier if you watch it muted and pretend they're just saying "Blah, blah, blah..." over and over! 🤣

If you listen intently all the way though some of it, you have refined listening skills. The interest holds you, I get that.

If you listen to 1 hour of classical music intently, you would be a nerd. I say that in the most respectful way possible.

Some Prog can keep my interest but, to be honest, a lot (as well as Classical which I listen to quite often) acts as perfect background music while I'm programming.  They both help me focus.

  4. Actually, I've off and on practiced a form of Yoga called Surya (or Sungazing) for over four decades.  Although you don't stare at the sun when it's right above (usually just the first 20 degrees in the morning and the last 20 degrees around sunset), I can stare directly at the sun without blinking.  Even though I don't live in the UK and can actually SEE the sun! 😜

Also, I'm now in my 60's and still have 20/10 vision (i.e., "better" than perfect)!

    YMMV.
