  1. System is a Dell E6530 I7 with 16GB Ram, 1TB SSD, Latest build of Windows 10 Roland VM3100 mixer, SPDIF connected to an M-Audio Fasttrack Ultra. Everything works like a charm, apart from if I attempt to launch Cakewalk with the clock set to external on the M-Audio ASIO control panel, it locks up on start. Tried the same with VSTi's in Nanoost, no problem, with Reaper, no problem. Clock out on the VM is 24/44.1K If I launch Cakewalk with clock internal, no problem, apart from nothing comes in to the M-Audio on those channels (7/8) from the VM3100 (as it will only record when clock is external). If I set clock to external "after" starting Cakewalk, it works perfectly no issues... so it's just on launch I tried clocking the Vm3100 from a Behringer UCA202 on a second laptop, and then SPDIF out from the VM3100 to the M-Audio on the Dell, same issue. Same things worked/didn't work Demo version of Cubase, again, no issue with ext clock, so I know it's not the setup, or the drivers for the M-Audio etc... Any thoughts appreciated... as I say it literally locks on the splash screen, and the only way around it is a force quit and kill all Cakewalk processed, launch something else, set the clock on the M-Audio control panel to Internal, then re-launch Cakewalk Not insurmountable, but a bit of a pain
  2. Sorted it, the Volca's lack of OMNI, and some of the MIDI data sent on start seems to throw the Korg's a bit, but managed to get around it
  3. Some issues since the last update with previously recorded tracks that use the Roland Jupiter 8 and SH101 (cloud VST versions), but not a major issue (the sounds had reset) to get back to how they were, and then store then in the VSTi/Patch memory... However Vastly more annoying however is the latest version of Cakewalk and Korg synths. I have a Micro-X, Volca Keys and Prophecy. On start/stop (and this is with filters and not chasing events set), it is sending messages to ALL MIDI ports (even ones that are not active in the track) I verified this with a loopback in to MIDI-OX. What this means is that the Volca in many tracks if specific CC's, NRPN's etc are present, will just NULL and make no sound nor pass through any MIDI (yes Bizarre!) I ran the same config using Reaper, and no issues, ran the same setup of pass through (Keyboards as controllers include a TS10 and Oxygen 49), using MID-OX, and no issues at all. Cakewalk seems to be sending reset/events even when filtering/told not to... any help much appreciated I tried event using the MIDI event filter plug in in the tracks (they don't appear actually filter properly), settings in prefs, nothing gets around this issue I am seeing Is there a way to force Cakewalk to ONLY send all notes off, and reset all controllers (nothing else) on start/stop, and has anyone else seen this issue with the Volca Keys (it seems to manifest if you're using a lot of VSTi's in a track, as (and this is where it gets very weird), on some tracks it works fine) . Wondering if MIDI files with GM/GS/XG resets in cause this, but looked through some event lists on a few tracks, and nothing was obviously popping up Korg's MIDI implementation leaves a lot to be desired (The Micro-X is a headache too, and the VST editor doesn't work well at all), but if I can't get this resolved, I'll have to jump to Cubase, which I don't really want to do right now (as I have about 80 songs in Cakewalk) TIA for any help
  4. I have seen this with the Roland Cloud, but it is intermittent (usually the Jupiter 8 and SH101), but if you save the preset into the synth itself, it gets around it (or freeze the track and then only unfreeze when you wish to edit) Vastly more annoying however is the latest version of Cakewalk and Korg synths. I have a Micro-X, Volca Keys and Prophecy. On start/stop (and this is with filters and not chasing events set), it is sending messages to ALL MIDI ports (even ones that are not active in the track) I verified this with a loopback in to MIDI-OX. What this means is that the Volca in many tracks if specific CC's, NRPN's etc are persent, will just NULL and make no sound nor pass through any MIDI (yes Bizarre!) I tried event filters in the tracks (they don't actually filter properly), settings in prefs, nothing gets around this Is there a way to force Cakewalk to ONLY send all notes off, and reset all controllers (nothing else) on start/stop? Korg's MIDI implementation leaves a lot to be desired (The Micro-X is a headache too, and the VST editor doesn't work well at all), but if I can't get this resolved, I'll have to jump to Cubase For the record, I have used Cakewalk for about 20+ years, and worked for Yamaha's R&D for over 16 years TIA for any help
