  1. Hey thanks guys. Tried the external drive and still got issues with not being able to open any projects transferred just as before. But aparantly Win 10 gives you a prompt to open the project in "Safe Mode" by holding the shift key down when opening the project. This works! But one has to save the project again if you want to avoid the "Cant open this file...may be corrupted...old version...blah, blah, blah..issues. I know the per project save is a work-around but I've got 110 GB worth of projects on my old computer and that would take up too much time. That's why I wanted to do a one shot transfer of the entire project folder. Thanks again fellas...Someday I'll get around to BandLab, but I've owned too many Cakewalk programs since the early days and I'm tired of killing time re-learning stuff. I'd rather spend that time making music. It's installed in one of my Desktops and it looked frightening. Just like every other Cakewalk DAW I've ever opened the first time...LOL!
  2. OK...so were is this Global Audio Folder located?
  3. Tried that and got many errors. I'm going to try the external drive method. I wont remove the drive on the old set up because it is still a fine tuned excellent set up. Its just that my new 64bit system did not include the option for Win 7 or 32 bits, (the MOBO was strictly a Win 10 64 bit bit system). In addition to a lot of the software and plugins I use are no longer supported past Win 7.
  4. Hello everyone! I'm still using Sonar 8.5, (although installed, I still haven't had time to figure out the new Bandlab yet). Anyway, I've built a new computer with Win 10, (my older one is Win 7). I've installed Sonar into both with no issues. My older Computer has 110 GB worth of projects contained in the project folder. Some are per project, most are random. I want to transfer that entire project folder into the new computer, or at the very least everything I've ever done in Sonar from my old computer to the new one. Short cuts? Ideas? Thanks guys....
  5. Yep, figured that out yesterday. LOL...asked too soon before I tried to solve it.
  6. LOL. 1974 Fender Jazz, (OEM), 1968 Ampeg ABB-1....other cats drool when they see my axes...and the sound....amazing! New stuff is cool, but there's something about a well beaten classic that stands on it's own even by modern standards. Audiophiles rave about turntables, analog sound....and there's a whole following of old technology fanatics. There's a reason why these tools are still out there.
  7. I do have a legacy environment and I've always been self supported. (BTW, I do have both 32 and 64 bit windows 7, 8, 10). You're correct on that many of my favorite plugins are older. But contrary to what you stated, most are not supported in 64bit. So I'm SOL with this upgrade. My stuff works fine. Just that I cant jump on the bandwagon this time around. I'm an IT graduate and I know enough to say that windows 8 is the last of the non service oriented OS. Windows 10 is an atrocious piece of garbage. If that's were things are moving to I'm OK with it. It's happened before. Windows will back track and so will the software developers. 🙂
  8. Man some of you guys choose and pick what you wanna hear. Try reading my whole post.
  9. Yeah...wanted to try it. But it's only for 64 bit machines. I have on my WIN7 machine the 32 bit version installed. I do have both versions but I have a lot of stuff I like that is not supported on 64 bit platforms. That's why I use the 32 bit.
  10. Only 64 bit need apply.....AHHHHH!!!! 🤬
  11. Need to bounce a mono track to include pan envelopes, (automation). Gain envelopes bounce fine but not panning. I selected all the mix enables for the track except for anything bus related. What I'm I doing wrong? Can it be done? Can anyone help? I'm still using Sonar 8.5....
  12. Hey thanks guys! It's only that there was a wealth of knowledge and pretty much a majority had moved on from Sonar Producer 8.5 anyway. I'm not knocking this new thing-a-ma-jig. Technology moves on for the newer generation. In my case, I don't need the latest bells and whistles or going online, (I'm not keen on that). I'm already comfortable with what I do and what I have. It's a tool, (albeit older), but it still works! Hopefully most of those cats will join as I did. Honestly I dont know why they just couldn't of merged the old site with the new. But no sense on beating a dead horse.
  13. Do I have to use that online BandBlah thing? My stuff works great with minor things due to lack of knowledge. Still using Producer 8.5 though...
