  1. I thought it was obvious I meant using someone else's backing track. Guess I wasn't obvious enough.
  2. Not bad for an amateur low budget production, that's for sure.
  3. I've seen most of the YT videos of him and many of the movies when I was a kid. Always thought he was a riot. Can this be the funny songs thread? Have you ever seen this one of Jim Stafford on the Smothers Brothers show?
  4. Some people think it was a little slow, but the two lead characters were trying to decipher an alien language, which in itself would have to be very slow going. Then one of them realized that math was actually part of the makeup of the language the same way consonants and vowels are a part of ours, and then it got very interesting indeed. The first 45 minutes require patience though.
  5. See, to me it was just a bunch of fighting. I mean, all the Trek shows had a fair amount of fighting in them, but it seemed like that was just about all DS9 did. And the ship's captain had a voice that drove me up the wall. Actually fighting is one thing most sci-fi shows have in common that really bugs me. You have beings intelligent enough to traverse the stars and yet all they can think of to do is fight? It's like all these shows are written for 10 year old boys. I watched them all when I was young, but I just can't take them anymore. Did anybody watch Interstellar or Arrival? I wish there were sci-fi TV shows that were as intelligently done as those films.
  6. That makes two of us. Actually, that probably makes about 20,000 of us.
  7. Good beginning. Will be interested to see where it goes.
  8. Nope, never heard it before. Well dance tracks aren't my thing, but I applaud anyone giving new arrangements to old tunes. It's like building a rat-rod. Model T's are nice, but a T-bucket dragster, that's entertainment!
  9. The latest Star Trek (don't remember the name, but the one with the woman commander and several homosexual characters) is not my cup of tea at all. Star Trek Enterprise wasn't horrible like DS9, but it wasn't great either. Well, let's face it, none of them were anywhere near great, but they had their moments.
  10. My friend and part-time writing partner, Kurt, had that same unit. He had the patch bay too. I'm not sure how many versions they had of that machine, but Kurt's only ran at 1 7/8 speed. I was surprised at how good it sounded for not being a double-speed unit. He was a keyboard player and laid a midi stripe on one track while mostly just using the remaining tracks for vocals. He did some really nice work on that machine.

    RECIPE OF THE WORLD

It sounds like you've dropped most of the mids out. The effect works though. I could go either way.
  12. Loved it!! I read The Golden Sea a while back. This would fit in perfectly with a film version.

    New Beginning

Neat tune Star Man. I like it when synths sound like synths.
  14. Good song Mr. Bro, but the guitar sounds didn't work too well in my opinion. Is it Midi? If so, maybe horse around with some other sounds. I think you'd have a winner with the right instrument choice.

    my love

Pretty good there Paul. I think the vocal is a little shaky, who am I to talk? It might help to put some light chorusing on it. Nice melody!

    Till the End

I agree. Nice to hear you do something that deviates a bit from your normal stuff Jesse. Keep growing and stretching. It looks good on you.
  17. I can't really get into dance tracks, but for what it is, I think you did really well with it. I don't remember The Browns version. Maybe it didn't get played where I live.

    RECIPE OF THE WORLD

Excellent!!! I haven't heard this before, have I? I don't remember it. I might warm up the vox a bit, but it's a good effect the way you have it too.
  19. I agree. NG and Voyager were the ones to watch. Incidentally, when it comes to sci-fi TV, I thought Fringe was excellent. I mean, like The X-Files, they had several monster of the week episodes, but other than those, it was a very thought provoking show.
  20. Is it battery operated? Could make a good field recorder for interviews, collecting sounds from a forest, a zoo, kid's playground etc.
  21. Oh, okay. I never thought about checking for that.
  22. I like it better in some ways. Everything loads faster, posting YT videos is a breeze, and if you want to quote just a sentence or phrase from a previous poster, just drag your cursor to highlight it and you get a pop-up message asking if you want to use it as a quote in your message. Real quick and simple now. About the only things I don't like is that we need most, if not all, of the sections from the old forum, and not as "sub" sections. I hate it when I'm on the main screen and see that there's a new post in the coffeehouse by a friend, so I go to check it out only to find that his post is not in the coffeehouse at all but is instead in the Deals forum, which is one of the forums at the old place I never had any use for. A lot of guys seem to like that forum though, so I think they should at least bring back the Deals, Hardware, Computer, and Techniques forums and not as subs. I don't care one way or another about any other forums. One other thing I don't like is that whenever you hit the enter button it makes a new paragraph instead of a new line break. If I'm making a list of items, I don't want extra spaces between each line, so I'd rather just hit the enter button twice to make a paragraph like we used to do.
  23. You're in the UK? Funny, like Clapton, you sound American when you sing. I never would have guessed.
  24. Yeah, Seinfeld is still very funny. I still love the Dick Van Dyke Show, Your Show of Shows, and the first three seasons of MASH were perfection. Then Henry and Trapper left and it was still good but not quite the same. I liked Wings a lot too.
  25. I've been slowly going through all the old Night Court episodes between Daily Motion and Solarmoviez. It's not nearly as good as I remember it unfortunately. I'm about halfway through season 9 now. I'm also into the final season of The Waltons at Amazon Prime. Boy did those last three seasons suck. Sticking with it though just so I can look at the old cars and furniture etc. Also going through all the episodes of St. Elsewhere at Hulu. It's not half as good as I remember it either. Not much is. I still like The Rockford Files. Best TV theme music ever too. That and Barney Miller.
