When this was first out, it was very popular. I wonder if people still use it?

From when it's come up on here before, yes they do seem to and still regard it pretty highly. All time low is at most $89, so there's always time to give it a demo and then wait for that price.

I understand the purpose of limited-time flash offers (i.e. to trigger FOMO). But to do one for less than half a day - i.e. leave out potential customers who've gone to sleep for the night - seems a little bit too short. But what do I know?

In any case, I don't have the products required to use these anyway.

It can be frustrating at times with shorter periods of time. I've missed out on quite a few deals, or had to get up in the middle of the night for some promos, so I do agree with you.

I actually just missed out the last time he did this too! That's why I made sure to share it on here for all of us.

This isn't a big company or anything though and he is happy giving away his full catalog, so it's still a great gesture.

I'll probably only use the presets, but I guess I've got the skins if I ever feel inclined.

This link is getting redirected to the home page: https://community.musictribe.com/

They might have pulled that loophole too Kal.

You were definitely logged in first and hadn't already claimed the license? I found if I wasn't logged in, then I got the same behaviour. But once I registered and signed in, the link worked even though the page had been taken down.

I should probably actually get around to installing it I guess 🤣

Yes, I checked again this morning. It still shows the same note from yesterday saying my order is being processed and that they'll send an email when the serial number is available in my account.

That's not completely uncommon with Plugin Boutique. It is their weekend as well, so it's possible it might need some manual intervention from them, or a restock, etc.

Nothing to worry about from my experience. I've seen that quite a few times and always got the serials.

I posted it just in case someone missed it or needs a key to give to a friend. You get a key to be registered later.

It's definitely still good for you to post it and I'm sure it will help some people 🙂

It's just their timing / effort on this one misses the mark. But they had a number of months with no freebie / bonuses so it's good to at least see something back again.

I did wonder if they were getting rid of them altogether.

As Larry said, Midi is unparalleled.  I also think that Cubase has the best support for external hardware of any DAW.

MIDI in Cubase definitely trumps a lot of DAWs. I've also found that the mixer in Cubase has ruined the experience of mixing in other DAWs. It's such a pleasure to mix in, that the others fall short when I compare them.

I love some aspects of Ableton Live for example, but it's falls so short in mixing in comparison. Cubase isn't perfect and from everything I've personal tested, nor are the others, but they do get a lot right in so many ways.

  10. N.B. Not an audio deal, but Affinity is popular on here.

    ANNOUNCEMENT
    26 March 2024

A message to our amazing Affinity community

Today marks a momentous new chapter in our journey together.

Our CEO Ashley Hewson shares an exciting update: Affinity has joined the Canva family! Together, the two companies will join forces to create a world where design is within everyone’s reach.
I am thrilled to announce that Affinity is joining the Canva family.

This is a moment of great excitement, anticipation, and profound gratitude for all of you who have been part of our story so far.

We know that those of you who’ve put your faith in Affinity, some since we launched our very first Mac app, will have questions about what this means for the future of our products. Since the inception of Affinity, our mission has been to empower creatives with tools that unleash their full potential, fostering a community where innovation and artistry flourish. We've worked tirelessly to challenge the status quo, delivering professional-grade creative software that is both accessible and affordable.

    None of that changes today.

In Canva, we’ve found a kindred spirit who can help us take Affinity to new levels. Their extra resources will mean we can deliver much more, much faster. Beyond that, we can forge new horizons for Affinity products, opening up a world of possibilities which previously would never have been achievable.

Canva’s revolutionary approach to design democratisation and commitment to empowering everyone to create aligns perfectly with our core values and vision. This union is a testament to what can be achieved when two companies that share a common goal of making design accessible and enjoyable for everyone come together.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to our incredible Affinity team. Your passion, dedication, and relentless pursuit of excellence have been the driving force behind our success so far, and I can’t wait to continue this journey with you all.

To our loyal users and the creative community, your support and feedback have been invaluable. You’ve inspired us to push boundaries and continuously improve, and we’re excited to embark on this new chapter together.

The future is bright, and I am incredibly excited to continue our story together and create a world where design is within everyone's reach.

You helped us start a movement. Today, that movement becomes a revolution.

    With heartfelt thanks,

    Ashley Hewson

Cool little plugin. Nice update, although now it's a bit more CPU hungry.

I wonder if DIFIX ever goes on sale.

The original was my intro to United Plugins and I was really pleasantly surprised and it made me pay attention to these guys from then on. Now I've bought quite a few.

It's always been really light on CPU so I hope it's not too noticeable though!

Can't wait to hear the new tape module and will be trying it today.

Love their free updates and better licensing. A great example to other Devs 🙂

  12. Front DAW 3 just released with new modules. Free for existing owners, otherwise intro price.

    Special discount 69%

    Was: EUR 49

    Sale: EUR 15

    New in version 3

In FrontDAW version 3, we added two more saturation types: magnetic tape (MG) and clipper (CL). Also, the workflow has been improved. You have access to undo/redo and comparison functions, an easy way to control oversampling, and input/output meters.

    Re-introduction discount (or FREE)

We are celebrating the new release of FrontDAW with a re-introduction sale. If you don’t have a license yet, you may get it with a 74% (???) discount (€49→€15)—just until April 15.

It says "all of our plugins" ...it didn't specify "Neold" plugins

Did you get an email, or see it in the PA Facebook group? If it was the PA Facebook group, it was posted by Neold, as opposed to PA themselves, so I would assume it only related to their plugins, not all of them.

    Hopefully it's all though 🙂

Got their Integral Pack, but the three I wouldn’t want to miss are Cosmos, Magnetic II, Echoes and 80s Spaces. Most of their plugins got updated last year.

I just tried out Cosmos and Magnetic II again earlier when you mentioned that and they're both decent. I'd forgotten about them a little while waiting for their VST3 versions which hopefully aren't far away, but at least the updates should be free which is nice.

People complain about WUP but D16 wants upgrades for every product I've purchased from them. And when the products go on sale, the upgrade pricing doesn't. I guess if I'd bought them back in 2016 it might seem fine but since I've only picked them up gradually since 2020 it seems a bit rich. Just my 10c.

D16 is free updates perpetually for minor releases though, whereas this is a major release and without WUP, Waves wouldn't even give you minor updates for free.

D16 provides support indefinitely. Waves will not provide any support without active WUP.

D16 can always be transferred and for free. Waves you can only transfer to someone else if you have active WUP. Not sure if they charge on top of that too.

D16 can be used on multiple machines perpetually. Waves only provides 2 seats at most and you lose the second seat once WUP is inactive, so if you have a DAW and laptopsl for a mobile rig and don't want to constantly move a USB key around, or deactivate on one machine and reactivate on the other one all the time, then you need active WUP.

I would rather free major releases too though from D16. Maybe even just the next version free and then paid for versions after that. Discounted updates would also be great and sounds fair to me.

But when it comes to sucking, Waves and their WUP and archaic ideas cannot be outdone 🤣
