  1. I have these. While they aren't my go to strings, for $50 USD, I think they're worth considering. I think I paid a little over $ 100 US for them a couple of years ago. There are A LOT of articulations for each instrument, but they don't have intuitive scripting that enables you to get real-time, realistic sounding performances like some KONTAKT instruments have (which is what I really love about Orange Tree Samples libraries that made me a huge fan from day one). It takes a bit more work. If you have a go to set of strings and are looking for additional colors, I think this MAY be worth picking up. The interface allows you to trigger the various articulations by velocity you set. Consequently, if that fits your workflow, you may enjoy this approach.

  2. Value your thoughts people. Thanks in advance. ps. Its in Norwegian. Version 3 Mix Reisen Mastered Updated the track thread so not so many to see. I have now mastered this track... I have decided to leave some of the sibilance in as it took away from the track and I don't have the time to individually remove each one of them manually.

  5. Usually you can stack, so I'd expect you could get needlepoint and bassmint for $15 with a $25 voucher and that isn't too shabby assuming they are on someone's wanted list.

  6. My KISS era was between Alive and AliveII and as a pre-pubescent elementary kid the lyrics made no sense but I could tell it was probably fun and Ace was my fave. I moved on to Steely Dan, Rush, Yes, etc for high school but I do enjoy going back to Love Gun and even that Creatures of the Night reissue that just came out. And I love to blast Black Diamond off the 1st album and dig the tape slow down at the end which I can only imagine was to get another minute on the album.

  16. Here's a song I sadly can't take credit for - it was written by a mostly acoustic duo called My Whisper, but I had my greasy mits all over the recording, mix, master and production, as well as the video clip and various other bits and pieces to fill out the sound. The first album we did last year was very much a "keep it as stripped back as possible" kind of affair, really sticking to enhancing the sound of a duo/band in a small club just doing great songs, but on this song (and the upcoming album) we kept the core of that philosophy but really ventured out a bit into pop territory. Anyway, hope you guys dig it! And if you like it, give 'em a follow on their socials!

  18. Yes. buses cannot start processing until all upstream tracks or other buses routed to it have finished processing their effects. Only then can the bus mix its inputs and proceed to processing the bus fx chain. If you have complex dependencies of tracks and other buses sourcing the main bus then those count towards the "engine load" since they are additive. In other words no matter how many cores you have if the work is serial multiprocessing won't help you.

  22. Yep. I would say that I was one of those that bought their first three albums. I still think those three albums are some of the best RnR ever put out. When Kiss Alive came out, I dropped off somewhat. Then Destroyer came out I was OK with it, but it wasn't the rock I had come to expect from them. Rock And Roll Over was the last album of Kiss I ever bought. And I have only bought it one time. The first three albums I wore out and purchased many times after. Some of the first bands I joined I got them to play stuff off those first three albums. We'd play "Black Diamond" and people would come up after the show and ask did we write that!!! They just didn't know that it was Kiss. Rock Bottom was another one that got the crowd going. The band was real reluctant to play "Kiss" stuff because by that time they were marketing for the kids and they didn't want to be associated with that BS. But once I got them to listen and play stuff off the first three albums, AND they saw the audience reaction, it was no problem to get them to do more from those albums. (we never did "Beth!") That first album just had some of the best raw sound and feeling. Not even mentioning the hooks every song had!!! Hooks for days!! Hotter Than Hell has great songs on it, but it's not as well produced as the first album IMHO. Dressed to Kill had much better songs than " I, wanna rock n roll all night... But that was the one that put them over the top.

  28. Hi Gary . . . had a few listens, headphones and small studio monitors . . . really sounds quite balanced to my ears, the drum feel and kick are all there, on the small speakers. The vocals are super clear (and very well sung !) pronunciation is top notch (even though I don't know what they are saying), and I think you've really captured the warmth of the guitar tone, without it sounding overly muddy. I'll have another listen tomorrow on bigger speakers, or when you turn off the "God Particle Limiter" whatever that is ? Lol, sounds like a plugin you should have engaged all the time, eh ? Great tune, Great band !

  29. i usually do cleanup on RX before i set up the mix project. ๐Ÿ™‚ that said, do a search for CW Tools Editor - the option to edit the utilities menu lets you set up an audio editor. close CW. run the tool editor (you need to download it first) save (write) a registry file to your desktop (or wherever you want) then open it. open CW and a project, select the clip to edit, then select your editor from the utilities menu save the file when done.

  31. I subscribed but I still don't understand why you keep committing to a single-platform strategy. Isn't it preferable to diversify a little so that if things go sour you have alternatives? And being able to monetize from the beginning without min 1000 subscribers can be an advantage, e.g., on Odysee https://odysee.com/@OregonPacifist:0/youtube-vs.-odysee-earnings-comparison:2 And there is also Rumble, without min # of subscribers

  32. I once heard an orchestral composer describe his response when asked a common question of whether he could play every instrument in the orchestra. He responded yes he could, but poorly. Knowing how to write for an instrument is quite a different thing than knowing how to master the playing of it. Of course the composer added that to compose one needs to understand a bit about each instrument's performance characteristics and articulations, and it's role in the overall arrangement of the orchestra. I suppose any trick in the book is fair game if it helps you write music!

  36. It's funny that he mentions the vocal performance on I'll Fight Hell to Hold You - Crazy Nights is one of my guilty pleasures (I love Ron Nevison's work on it) and Stanley's vocals on I'll Fight Hell are incredible - even though you also get the feeling that he's just pushing himself to see how far up he can go. He himself mentions something along those lines in his biography when talking about that era. I've always felt that that song could have been usd in a training montage for Rocky 4 or something, it has that vibe. One more reason for me to enjoy it. It's also one of the songs I always wanted to play live with my ex but we never got to it. I did get her to sing plenty of other KISS songs though...

  43. Thank you for posting this! Huge KISS fan. Although my interest in the band kind of laid a bit dormant for a while, around the time we moved here in 2012, lots of KISS related stuff started to happen in my life again and Las Vegas soon became synonymous with KISS for me. I also made friends with the guys who organize KISS Night in Vegas, an annual fundraising event, and the most awesome night of the year for any KISS fan. Was invited and participatd a few times over the years, and had a chance to play with and meet a lot of amazing people and musicians, including Bob Kulick (KISS fans will know who he is), Lydia Criss, and guys who've toured with Ace and Peter. Here's a shot from 2016 IIRC. Not the best, but I don't seem to have many with the KISS logo. I'm still a huge fan of Ace. I also like and appreciate Bruce and Tommy.

  44. Let's start at square one. Do you see other sample rates offered in your Preferences? If so, then we can assume that the interface driver has informed Cakewalk that it supports them. If you choose a higher rate, does it "stick"?

  46. Hi Noel Sorry I have not identified which plug-in was the culprit as I just turned off flushing of plug ins as you suggested which cured the problem. I have sent numerous crash dumps to Lois from support that I was getting. After doing as you suggested I am no longer experiencing any crashes when exporting. The crashes were happening on old projects I had previously exported without problems in the past as well.
