  10. Happy New Year Cakewalkers ! . . . here's a new original, and it got way more than "With a Little Help from my Friends" . . . fellow forum member Mark Alan Skinner, who modestly claims to just play second fiddle on this one , but the acoustic guitars, harmony vocals, some lyrics, and that amazing Cello creation are all him ! I really enjoyed working on this with Mark, hope you enjoy listening.

  11. Angel chimes The title comes from one of the vst patches I used. This started off as an antiwar statement then evolved to outer space stuff, then evolved to whatever category this is. There isn't a common thread throughout but interesting anyway IMO. I've learned some video tricks in DaVinci Resolve but haven't explored much beyond the basics. Thanks for watching/commenting. -Bjorn

  12. Hi everyone. I haven't been around in a while. Life gets in the way sometimes. Anyway, I was messing around in the studio while recovering from a hip replacement and threw down this old Sabbath song. Hope you like it!

  14. I do have a fair few waves plugin, unfortunately I'm now running an old Mac OS and the last time I started Waves Central app it automatically updated itself to a version incompatible with my OS! ...so I decided to depreciate my waves plugins ...they're just reserved for old projects. I hope Waves don't take it too badly. lol

  15. THE NEW IRON PACK 4 - CHILDREN'S CHOIR Iron Pack 4 - Children's Choir is designed using the symphonic children's choir recordings from our full Mercury Symphonic Boy's Choir. This library includes dynamic Ah and Oo vowels, covering the alto-soprano range as well as 11 creative pads, synth leads and ambiences created by mangling the choir to produce unique musical textures and melodic sounds. For this 2.0 upgrade , we remastered the samples and inserted them into our versatile four-layer modular engine which give you tons of flexibility and control. After that, we crafted these vocal timbres into 20 new custom FX presets, designed to inject inspiration into your next track. This library is built for the full version of Kontakt 5.5 or later. You can get Iron Pack 4 - Children's Choir on sale now for only $3 (MSRP $5) https://soundiron.com/products/iron-pack-4-childrens-choir

  16. Love or hate them... Whatever they're doing, it seems to be working. And they've been in the computer audio industry ever since I can remember. Definitely could not afford the steep price of Waves Gold back in the day. But today's prices are much more attractive, especially through online stores like everyplugin. WUP sucks... without a doubt. But at least it's better than a subscription. If/when a subscription ends, you can't use that product anymore. With Waves, you can use your plugins until an update/upgrade is necessary. To be honest, I've never had to wup any of my plugins... yet. I reckon because I'm a PC user. Definitely not the worst plugins to invest in, considering their longevity in this industry and ever-growing catalogue.

  22. Thanks for the insights, Erik. Based on the numerous favorable comments people have made about Trackspacer, and especially comments about its advantages being its simplicity and ease of use, I thought it would be a really good fit. Now I just need to learn how to use it! And now, I know that I should start with my cover of "Strawberry Fields," although I'm guessing that my cover of "I Am the Walrus" has the same issues, as both tracks contain a lot of instruments at the same time (electric piano, bass, electric guitars, strings, etc).

  25. Back when I offered to do a remix of one of your songs, I knew that one of the things I'd be using was Trackspacer. I don't remember if I mentioned it in the topic in the Songs forum, but I thought the mix' primary issue was frequency buildups and collisions. You now have the best tool for taming that stuff. Due to the informative display, setting it up and watching it do its thing has actually increased my understanding of how sidechaining and collision-elimination work.

  26. The devs have stated that they are trying to migrate as many functions of the Plug-In Manager to the Browser, especially the organization functions. Unfortunately it must be deep in the to-do list, because there's been no work on the Browser in at least the past 5 years, probably longer. I would like as much flexibility as possible with plug-in layouts (especially drag and drop moving/copying from one category to another, renaming categories, and Exclude), but any improvements would happen in the Browser.

  33. That's good to know. One of my issues with convolution reverbs has always been my perception of an unfavorable cost:benefit ratio in regard to resource use vs. sonic results. I have Exponential Nimbus and MTurboReverble, which take care of my reverb needs very well. I'll do some comparing. Algo vs. convo. I loaded up a clean electric guitar sound using Strum Session going into MTurboAmp>MConvolutionMB and got some rockin' sounds. MTurboAmp really needs to be paired with a good cab sim. Not including one, and therefore requiring something like MCabinet or MConvolutionMB to complete the sound is a ***** move. Every other amp sim I've seen includes a collection of cab sims and usually some kind of spring reverb emulation.

  36. Did you run this by the developer and perhpas share such a project file with them? I haven't used MAudioStereoFix but have used a bit of MAutoAlign. Any Problem I personally had were with the sources (resonances, poor room reverb, etc). I'm sure they would be curious to investigate any issues.

  37. I have recently discovered this and thanks @msmcleod for sharing the information. It is such a shame that we lost a great developer but thankfully the y were able to come up with this wonderful solution to make ASIOLink available again. My experience over the past few days has been amazing, ASIOLink has been running very solid and stable and I look forward to learning more about how to integrate it into my webcasts, tutorials, etc.. I am not finding any type of manual or instructions so I have just been bumping around looking for other resources to help understand the capabilities. I even ran across a video (5 hours long) that was very interesting (no I did not watch the entire 5 hours). Thanks for any additional insight on how to use ASIOLink Pro.

  39. Nice song writing. Love the guitar atmosphere and organ/key work. Sweet and intimate. Vocals cut in just the way I like them (up front and personal). The only constructive critic I'm able to perhaps give you is there may be some deessing issues here and there, but I'm not sure its that much of a problem in this particular up close and personal style of music. No one else has mentioned it here so its probably a non issue. This is a winner, Steve. Loved it for what it stands for. Dean
