  2. OSC Audio has announced the release of springVerb, a macOS, Windows, and soon to be iOS, stereo spring reverb plugin (VST3 / AU / stand-alone). Here's what they say: springVerb is a macOS, Windows, and soon to be iOS compatible stereo multi-mode spring reverb. Designed for VST3, AU, AUv3, and stand-alone use. Spring reverb has a long history, making debut on organ sounds and really getting noticed when being built into some of the most famous guitar amps known to man. In today's musical world, spring reverb is now pretty much used on anything that could use just a touch of ambience. springVerb is packed with a 3 spring modes to give you a wide range of sounds to bring to your mix. The included Highpass Filter, Lowpass Filter, and controllable Decay*, help springVerb use on any source: RedSprings A full body big spring sound. Turn down the decay for a classic touch of spring, or crank it to 10 and let the spring go wild for massive ambience. DigiSprings A slightly smaller spring compared to RedSpring, with a less intrusive sound great for adding subtle touches of space to your source. CaliSprings Traditional guitar-amp based spring reverb with twang you'd expect. This sound includes a guitar cabinet which can add an interesting flavor to your sounds. This one is particularly designed with guitar players in mind. Decay does not affect this mode.*. All settings can be saved and loaded in your sessions as well as crossplatform presets. All parameters offer automation control to get the most expressive sound. iOS Coming Soon. Price: Free for a limited time (Reg. $1). https://www.kvraudio.com/product/springverb-by-osc-audio

  4. Ok, I have found the link of springVerb https://oscaudio.gumroad.com/l/springVerb/IntroPrice And as "bonus track", don't forget that we have other plugin free: plateVerb https://oscaudio.gumroad.com/l/plateVerb/IntroPrice

  5. There are probably only a handful of plugins that don't support high speed bounce, but if the plugin is written properly, it should support bouncing at high speed. Unfortunately it's a matter of trial and error to find out which ones don't behave - some crash, some give unexpected results.

  6. Hi guys, I have been working on an EP for a while now. Everything was produced, recorded and mixed on Cakewalk. I am 95% done with it and hope to release it this coming January. I want to get peoples opinion and advice before I release it next month. I also released a single for this EP a couple of months ago called Feel. I will attach the music video if anybody wants to see. Here is the EP Here is the music video Hope you guys like the EP.

  7. Hi everyone. I haven't been around in a while. Life gets in the way sometimes. Anyway, I was messing around in the studio while recovering from a hip replacement and threw down this old Sabbath song. Hope you like it!

  8. I find with 8Dio, it's all-or-nothing. I have some 8Dio libraries that have some great components, and I use them regularly; and I have too many that disappointed me greatly and have never been put into a project. There's nothing in between. And for the libraries that work, even they are hit-and-miss when considered on a patch by patch basis. The Century Brass and Anthology Strings are the ones I use most often, but only specific patches, and only for specific purposes. The above-linked Majestica does not interest me in the slightest. I have not heard a lot of good things about it...

  10. If the tempo of the 110 project can't be changed because it already has audio, I would enable Audiosnap in Autostretch mode on the clip in the 150bpm project, temporarily change the tmepo of that project to 110, and export the audio. Then close the 150bpm project without saving changes, and import the stretched audio file. If the 110bpm project doesn't yet have audio (i.e. it's all MIDI and soft synths), I would temporarily raise it's tempo to match the 150bpm, import the audio, and do the change to 110bpm with Audiosnap in the new project. Two things to keep in mind, though: You'll want to try different rendering algorithms for the export to get the best result, and lowering the tempo generally produces more artifacts than raising it.

  13. MIDI is simply a stream of digital instructions telling a device (in this case, your Korg pa900) what notes to play (as well as changing other parameters) What you might want to do is see if the pa900 can respond to patch change commands. You might need to check your pa900 user guide and look for the MIDI implementation chart. In there, it might tell you want patch change command corresponds to the patch that you need that MIDI track to play. Then either: Insert the required patch change command in the MIDI track before any occurrence of notes. (I use the event view list for this) or Set the MIDI track’s patch and bank number to match the patch change command that recalls the patch that you need the Korg to play An instrument definition (*.ins) file might be handy as well if you are able to locate one.

  15. There is only one MIDI editor that works with a single clip at a time, the Step Sequencer view. All of the other MIDI editors display data at the track or entire project level. If working with multiple clips in the PRV is troubling enable "Show Clip Outlines" in the PRV View menu. If that is not enough, here are a couple of ways to see only one MIDI clip at a time on the same track in the same project: mute all clips in the track except the one to edit and set Hide Muted Clips in the PRV View menu use the inline PRV and put each clip in its own take lane

  17. The primary use for offline/real-time rendering is to include audio from external hardware FX or synths while bouncing. In line with what Mark said, I have encountered very few issues with fast bouncing of VSTs and they were never subtle. Some could be resolved by raising the buffer size or setting a non-zero value for BounceBufSizeMsec in the Config File to override the real-time value which is the default for offline rendering. I've had this set to 20 (milliseconds) for years, and have not had a problem rendering Iris 2, but I've only used it in a couple projects. https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=INI_Files.6.html Also, since you mention automation, there is a setting for how fine a resolution is used to process parameter automation that may have bearing: https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=NewFeatures.033.html

  24. hey grem! yea, i like to work on mixes along with getting feedback from listeners.. usually, when i post something here, it's the first iteration of a few mixes to come... and then when i get them finished, i update the files to the latest greatest.. that's why if you actually purchase a tune (or album) you can keep downloading the different versions (if you care to) and have a 'history' of mix and arrangement changes. but either way, it's fun to keep working on them when i know i can improve them. the trilogy is finished, this was the last of the three. all the songs are posted at bandcamp, but i thought about putting the three together as an "EP", so i need to do that soon. in the order intended: https://batsbrew.bandcamp.com/track/bullet-train-to-monaco https://batsbrew.bandcamp.com/track/silverstone https://batsbrew.bandcamp.com/track/open-wheel-champion

  27. In general the clip or note you are editing will be highlighted... If no other notes or clips are "highlighted" you are editing only those notes\clips... You always have the "undo" command when editing notes... And save your work often and there is also the auto save feature you can turn on... There is a feature called "Linked Clips" that will apply the edits to all Clips that are linked... Linked clips are highlighted with a boarder around them... I always "color code" all my linked clips... Cakewalk has a lot to offer if you want to take the time to learn how to use it... I've used FL Studio in the past, and have even used it as a plugin inside of Cakewalk... It has some nice features but doesn't come close to Cakewalk, IMHO...

  30. Yeah, I got Organic Keys ‘cause it’s their latest one and it’s keys, you know. And those macro knobs are interesting. I’m not that much into the darker expansions like Cinematic Shades or both Subculture ones. As for Falcon not being multi core, I read that’s for some particular reason, but don’t remember why. I’m not getting the Voyetra (or Memories) ‘cause it’s too much samples. Makes me think of IK Syntronik, although UVI surely is better at sampling (and compressing to Flac). I will get the next Synth Anthology, though, don’t mind playing with those samples in Falcon.

  32. I only clicked to see what it was, but wow, the graphic they use is a mess. At this point, 8Dio has so heavily discounted just about every library, that they've trained the market that their retail prices don't mean much. It's a lot like Waves. When you know a plugin is constantly going on sale for $29.99 USD, it no longer makes the retail list price of, say $299 USD, seem like the product's actual value.

  33. First of all, this is really well recorded! Quite impressive. I like your arrangement a lot, and think that you have a really great guitar tone, and the guitar itself is very tastefully played. The lyrical theme you're covering is very timely and very well explored. IMHO to answer, the first two questions you ask are "Nothing" and "No". Job very well done here. You should be proud of this!

  34. I confidently predict that some future politician will unironically use this one as their campaign rally song, which of course will be ironic. Especially when they win. Meanwhile, great song, lovely vocal treatment as for the effects, and a challenging vocal where your chops shine. Lead guitar with the tasteful delay was wonderful. I listed on headphones, that cymbal panning was much appreciated! Maybe check the lead or bgv tuning on your sustained vocal "learned", I don't know if either might be a few micro off in the flat direction? Could be just my ears this morning. Great tune. cheers, -Tom

  35. It helps to have a collection of Guitar Cab IRs to go along with it that are of high quality, but you can open one of the guitar presets like I've shown above, then load your own IR(s) and save it as a new preset so you get to keep that UI but using your own collection. (ML Sound Pre-Rolla 30s via the MARS PR Cab Pack - also available individually - are my go to) Melda's Convolution plugin is a bit unique in the low latency / low consumption department and tends to make it a bit more usable than some for reverb as well. If you have some good IRs it can sound quite realistic in ways that algo verbs don't.

Okay, RX10 Breath Control, Ozone 10 Exciter Neutron 4 Sculptor, Neutron 4 Compressor, RX7 Breath Control, Insight 2, Nectar 3, Ozone 10 Dynamics, Ozone 10 Imager and Ozone 10 all installed on one track, all UI's open correctly. Unable to test whether either RX10 or RX7 Breath Control are controlling breaths, but at least I'm not seeing blank black squares. 39. After my first run thru I noticed that bends only occur at the entry into notes. For bends in the middle of notes you have to use the pitch bend wheel. That sounds good enough but I wish the bend keyswitch worked anywhere - NOT just before the note starts. The gliss and "runouts" sound great. The vibrato control works well, although I was surprised how much different the loop sounds compared to Kontakt's LFO (both options are available as well as manual control, which seems WAY too tedious to me). I haven't yet figured out what "blues legato" does nor why they recommend it being used sparingly. The different levels of dirtiness are useful. This is a fun VI. Edit: I've had more time to play with this and I found it's very import to overlap your MIDI notes to get the proper transitions. Stop overlapping the notes to take a breath. And then overlap the notes again for the entire next breath. When doing so, the "blues legato" really stands out. They're right - it's a very strong flavor that should only be used a few times per phrase. The "ghost note" keyswitch is interesting. It's mainly used to define where to start a legato slide without explicitly sounding the starting note. Liking this a LOT.

  40. Look for forum member Aszlow who has written a plug-in/driver that is far superior to what is available through ACT etc. He is a long time Cakewalk user and has developed this over a period of several years. It’s highly recommended.

  41. I suspect they agree and it is on the list of things to do. It may seem strange that drum map presets and the Drum Map Manager are at Drum maps predate the track inspector and instrument tracks. Drum Maps are a MIDI track output setting. All MIDI tracks have access to drum map presets and the Drum Map Manager. The MIDI track output drop down assigns a new drum map preset to the track. The drum map manager is available in the output drop down to create a new drum map for the track, modify the existing drum map or save a new drum map preset. Instrument tracks are a simplified presentation of the MIDI track's input and an audio track's output. The MIDI track output and audio track input default to the synth used while creating the instrument track. These controls are not visible on the track view header strip. Since an Instrument track may need a drum map, the MIDI track output is exposed on the MIDI tabs of the track inspector. Without the track inspector, instrument tracks would need to be split to access the underlying MIDI output drop down.
