Plugin Alliance: PA ALL BUNDLE - Pay 1x (MEGA-75-OFF works.. for now!) (From as cheap as $224) Get every plugin from Plugin Alliance in 2022 for $224. This is a single payment and not subscription. https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/all-bundle-2022.html It's on sale for $799 but many people will have a personal offer for much less. Then use the code MEGA-75-OFF to reduce it by $75 further. This was possible once before, but they removed it pretty quickly when they realized (or intentionally let it slip through for a bit 😉) Note: MEGA-75-OFF is generic so anyone can use it.5 points

Happy holidays from Sonic Charge! We are excited to announce that we have a special Microtonic gift for you. We call it BeatSpace, and it is the most ambitious script we have written for Microtonic yet. Using data from Patternarium, we trained a neural network to create Microtonic beats and arrange them on a 2-dimensional map. With BeatSpace you can explore this map and combine sounds and rhythms to create your own unique beats. Read more and download here: https://soniccharge.com/forum/topic/2200-beatspace. Dateline: 27th December 2022 Venue: Toontrack HQ Mattias: "Well team, I'm bored of my presents already. Why would anyone think I would want BFD3 and Addictive drums anyway? Let's do something fun....any ideas...? Minion 1: "Well, we haven't annoyed any customers for a while, so we could do that..." Mattias: "Yeah, that was actually pretty funny how upset they all got when we basically wrote off their existing customer status, but they failed to see the funny side and didn't buy anything else from us again and bought others things instead, so we can't annoy then any more..." Minion 2: "But..........there#s bound to be a few that still lurk......let's annoy them some more" Mattias: "How?" Minion 1: " I've got it.........let's give them a discount voucher that's even worse than a NI one." Mattias: "Is that even possible...?" Minion 2: "How about we give them 20% off anything they buy except everything they might actually buy?" Mattias: " I like it. Send out emails immediately. IKEA is open again, let's go there and celebrate with meatballs !"3 points

I had a visit from a very good friend from my school days way back when. He was the drummer in our school band back in the 70's. He came out from New Zealand to South Africa and to celebrate the visit I put this track together. It's the first time we've played together in over 40 years! The track is quite a laid back bluesy sort of song..2 points

When I moved to Seattle in 1972, I was pleasantly surprised to find a lively and long-established local music scene. There were literally hundreds of live music venues to play at and dozens of recording studios. Today you'd have to go to Austin or Nashville to find an environment like that. But in the 60's every city had its own circuit and its own superstars. A few of those local favorites managed to bust out of the Pacific Northwest and go national and international, which is how I knew who some of them were before coming to town. One of the biggest was The Ventures, although by '72 they had already relocated to Los Angeles and their style became mostly associated with Southern California and inspired many copycats there. Playing in my first bands in Nebraska, we assumed The Ventures and the Beach Boys were neighbors who grew up surfing. Neither of them actually did. The main thing I took away from this documentary was the realization that The Ventures, for all their innovation, was really a cover band. I'd been unaware, for example, that Walk Don't Run was originally lifted from a Chet Atkins record. Another interesting snippet was the criteria for being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: At least 25 years since first release Possess a significant body of work Significant influence on the development of rock 'n roll I couldn't help wondering how some of the more recent inductees qualified under those criteria, e.g. Eminem, Run-DMC, Madonna, Tupac. Meanwhile true rock innovators like The Ventures had to wait almost 50 years for their nomination. I think 250 albums qualifies as a "significant body of work".2 points

I am from Japan and have a lot of weeb friends and One Ok Rock is quite well known amongst them I thought. I am not a fan of ONE OK ROCK nor like their songs but they resurrected my favorite Japanese band which had been on long haiatus. Also their favorite bands are my favorite bands too (mostly American bands though) If I remember correctly, one of their albums was mixed by a very famous American (I think) mixing engineer who usually mix ITB and had mixed for top artists, such as Katy Perry. They must have had the greatest production imaginable. No wonder the sound quality was quite good and modern unlike other Japanese bands back then. My favorite Japanese punk band which they made reunited, had their latest album recorded at Sunset Sound in California. I am just sharing this because I am their fan...2 points

Thanks to you all for your input! The chorus in this song is the section that ends with "it's not the same", but it is different in each verse. Not the typical approach. Mark, those times you pointed out are sections that have been juxtaposed, and may be a little jarring, though this was done by design. Something for me to consider. Steve, I am going for a warm mix with detail, but whether I achieved my goal is up to your ears (and others). And, to KSband, good idea! This is why I've been sitting on this song for months, and I'm glad to have so many talented ears to help.2 points

Back down to $49 - not sure for how long. A nice thing with this is can map the drum hits to whatever notes we want and use that to trigger other plugins/hardware for drums and melodic.2 points

I was late to the party compared to a lot of you guys - my first CW product ☺️ My circuitous route to Cakewalk By BandLab: I started with Guitar Tracks 2 before quickly moving on to Guitar Tracks 3 Pro. I ventured into MIDI with Music Creator 4, before upgrading to the wonderful Home Studio 4 and then Home Studio 6. After so many of us were disappointed with Home Studio 7 (which CW used as a guinea pig implementing a very early and basic version of the Skylight interface), CW generously offered HS7 users a cheap upgrade to SONAR 8 Studio - which I gratefully accepted! I soon moved up to SONAR 8 Producer (I loved 8.3) before upgrading via every X-Pro version up to and including the short-lived 'lifetime' SONAR Platinum. Many thanks to BandLab for keeping our beloved DAW afloat (and let us not forget – so extensively backward-compatible) 👍2 points

What Zo said. NI does not do these sales on behalf of uhe and other vendors because NI is a charity, they do because it drives traffic to their website. So of course there's an agreement to prevent uhe from undercutting NI. The big dog helps the smaller dog, the big dog gets the traffic. Win win. I swear to God, guys, sometimes you talk like you don't have an MBA from the Wharton School of business.1 point

Besides the cool interface (a great way to interpret/create beats!), Beat Scholar comes with GREAT sounds and grooves. If you like percussion that can border at times on being melodic, then Beat Scholar is highly recommended!1 point

Beautiful library. The legatos are incredible. Glad I held out for 3 years on buying a new string library (aside from some OT Ark stuff). Got the loyalty price of $250, which - if you buy during intro - also includes the full Solo Strings suite when they're released. Well worth the wait - will be my default strings going forward. Played them all day yesterday and just loving them.1 point

Which is basically what any saturation plugin does, right? I understand and agree that if you're trying to get that LA2A sound then getting the hardware or emulation plugin is the fastest way to get there. That is the smart thing to do. What I don't understand is that why are you trying to get that sound in the first place? Why is that the most desirable sound? Why do you find that sound more pleasing than anything that modern plugins can provide? Are non-saturating plugins simply too clean for people who prefer "vintage" emulations? I don't know, I haven't used one in years.1 point
