It's funny you should post this. I actually got to hang out and party with Steppenwolf in my youth! They were appearing at the "SIlverbird Saloon" here in Redford, and I hung out with the band the entire evening, even after the show....good times LOL!5 points

Dateline: 27th December 2022 Venue: Toontrack HQ Mattias: "Well team, I'm bored of my presents already. Why would anyone think I would want BFD3 and Addictive drums anyway? Let's do something fun....any ideas...? Minion 1: "Well, we haven't annoyed any customers for a while, so we could do that..." Mattias: "Yeah, that was actually pretty funny how upset they all got when we basically wrote off their existing customer status, but they failed to see the funny side and didn't buy anything else from us again and bought others things instead, so we can't annoy then any more..." Minion 2: "But..........there#s bound to be a few that still lurk......let's annoy them some more" Mattias: "How?" Minion 1: " I've got it.........let's give them a discount voucher that's even worse than a NI one." Mattias: "Is that even possible...?" Minion 2: "How about we give them 20% off anything they buy except everything they might actually buy?" Mattias: " I like it. Send out emails immediately. IKEA is open again, let's go there and celebrate with meatballs !"4 points

And they are based in Montrรฉal, my home town. I know it doesn't mean anything, but it's nice to see a good company from your neck of the woods succeed.4 points

Uncle Eric from JRRShop has a 'coupon' that will knock 9% off your age. You have to write GLITCH9 on your cake in purple icing. I hope you have a good one.4 points

I got an email from Toontrack offering a 20% discount on everything in my cart. They gave me a personalized discount code and said it must be used by December 31st. I thought to myself that it's time to get EZDrummer3 ! Then I read the rest of the mail and realized that their offer is basically a joke: All items available in the webshop for the duration of the promotion apply, except for: โข EZdrummer 3, the EZdrummer 3 Upgrade, EZdrummer 3 Bundle, EZdrummer 3 MIDI Edition and the EZX Value Pack โข EZbass, the EZbass Bundle, EZbass MIDI Edition and the EBX Value Pack โข The Superior Drummer 3 Bundle, Superior Drummer 3 Orchestral Edition, Superior Drummer 3 MIDI Edition and the SDX Value Pack โข The EZ Line Software Collection bundle โข All single-title SDX expansions currently not on sale โข All single-title EZX expansions currently not on sale Thanks for the meaningless offer Toontrack! They should have listed only the items that you could actually use the code with.3 points

I remember once missing this gift, and sometime in June I wrote an email to their staff, and they honored the gift, I'm not sure if that would happen again, but AAS has excellent customer support. Therefore I own everything but LL EP 4, CV1, String Studio. and about 3 sound packs. Great stuff that AAS.3 points

I broke down and bought the 2 extra HRK ST552 Tape Emu's for my Warm Audio Bus Comp and a Fatso for my Heritage Audio Successor. My hybrid final mix chain will be: Vocal Bus -> ST552s -> TK Audio Bus Comp Drums Bus (shells only) -> Fatso -> Heritage Audio Successor Bas Buss -> ST552s -> Warm Audio Bus Comp Master Bus -> ST552s -> Serpent Bus Comp I'll be using Studio One's Pipeline XT to handle the hardware integration into the premaster mix.3 points

When I moved to Seattle in 1972, I was pleasantly surprised to find a lively and long-established local music scene. There were literally hundreds of live music venues to play at and dozens of recording studios. Today you'd have to go to Austin or Nashville to find an environment like that. But in the 60's every city had its own circuit and its own superstars. A few of those local favorites managed to bust out of the Pacific Northwest and go national and international, which is how I knew who some of them were before coming to town. One of the biggest was The Ventures, although by '72 they had already relocated to Los Angeles and their style became mostly associated with Southern California and inspired many copycats there. Playing in my first bands in Nebraska, we assumed The Ventures and the Beach Boys were neighbors who grew up surfing. Neither of them actually did. The main thing I took away from this documentary was the realization that The Ventures, for all their innovation, was really a cover band. I'd been unaware, for example, that Walk Don't Run was originally lifted from a Chet Atkins record. Another interesting snippet was the criteria for being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: At least 25 years since first release Possess a significant body of work Significant influence on the development of rock 'n roll I couldn't help wondering how some of the more recent inductees qualified under those criteria, e.g. Eminem, Run-DMC, Madonna, Tupac. Meanwhile true rock innovators like The Ventures had to wait almost 50 years for their nomination. I think 250 albums qualifies as a "significant body of work".2 points

I think they gave them a couple of Heritage guitars and some guitar cables. ๐ And with that, Ed makes a very late bid for 'Post of the Year' ๐2 points

I listened to the demo video and did not like what that did for the EP at all. I might download it though because it might sound interesting on some other instruments.2 points

And here is the very first thing I ever (properly) recorded using Guitar Tracks 2 โบ๏ธ (Guitars and bass - Line 6 POD 2; Drums - Fruity Loops single shots)2 points

I was late to the party compared to a lot of you guys - my first CW product โบ๏ธ My circuitous route to Cakewalk By BandLab: I started with Guitar Tracks 2 before quickly moving on to Guitar Tracks 3 Pro. I ventured into MIDI with Music Creator 4, before upgrading to the wonderful Home Studio 4 and then Home Studio 6. After so many of us were disappointed with Home Studio 7 (which CW used as a guinea pig implementing a very early and basic version of the Skylight interface), CW generously offered HS7 users a cheap upgrade to SONAR 8 Studio - which I gratefully accepted! I soon moved up to SONAR 8 Producer (I loved 8.3) before upgrading via every X-Pro version up to and including the short-lived 'lifetime' SONAR Platinum. Many thanks to BandLab for keeping our beloved DAW afloat (and let us not forget โ so extensively backward-compatible) ๐2 points

I had a visit from a very good friend from my school days way back when. He was the drummer in our school band back in the 70's. He came out from New Zealand to South Africa and to celebrate the visit I put this track together. It's the first time we've played together in over 40 years! The track is quite a laid back bluesy sort of song..1 point

This was pretty dark and convincing. It really put me on the edge of something I've felt before about someone over the edge. Very effective.. Take a close look at 2:14 and 3:39. I think there's a little unintended stutter step in both places. Good Job .. mark1 point
