  3. I have these so they were probably a freebie last year. *checks notes* Yep. 13th of December 2021. But the full price was €74.90 back then. How come it's now €299? Are they going 8dio on us?

  9. No need to bump a thread that was half a year old. Good chance PA will run it on sale this month. You can always test drive it for 14 days. Also MCompare is on sale for $31 https://www.meldaproduction.com/MCompare If you use a new account and my referral code you would get $10 off (by sigingn up for the news letter) plus 20% off with this at checkout. MELDA31209027 So your total out of pocket would be somewhere around $15.

  10. Here's probably the best live version, from the BBC in 1970. Epic. Not that you'd know from the bored expressions of the studio audience.

  11. Sorry to derail the thread once again... I can't say for sure about any of that, but that is not my general impression. Please don't take this as an attack because it's not, but I want to offer my counter-opinions to yours: There are a lot of professional composers there who work with orchestral libraries daily. I'd say that makes at least some of them experts. Hans Zimmer at least is, though I don't think he has shared his opinion about any library. Of course there are also people who don't know much about anything, but that's why you should never take anyone's opinion as the holy truth. I have no idea if they are easily attracted to new. I'd guess not anymore than folks over here. What I do know that whenever someone asks for recommendations, the usual suspects tend to pop up, not the latest and shiniest libraries. Like I wrote earlier, Sordino Strings got a lot of praise when it was released but not much publicity after that. In a few threads where it was later mentioned people still liked the sound but disliked the interface. There is a pretty strict of code of conduct, but I have definitely seen people often saying bad things about libraries even if the developer is there. There are fan clubs for sure, but I'd say that there are more than enough people who love to point out the different flaws a library has to counter whatever positive bias there might otherwise be. I think the biggest weakness of VI-Control is that people over there seem to have very, very deep pockets. So if you'd ask there if you should buy some $50 library, many would reply "no, buy this $500 library instead". VI-Control is not perfect but it's the best I've found. You need to read a lot of the threads there to learn the general direction of the wind and when recommendations and opinions should be taken with a grain of salt, but if you can point me to a better source of information about orchestral libraries I'd love to hear it. Seriously, because that kind of information is really hard to come by and these things are expensive.

  12. For me, with the coupon and VAT included... 32€ as final price

  13. Any comment? Here's some from VI-Control: Then again, this library didn't come up when someone asked for a favorite sordino string library, but there weren't any sub $50 libraries listed anyway. I forgot I had these so I haven't used them, but the demos sound really sweet. If I didn't have them I would be very tempted.

  14. Yes, I confirm you that the regular price was $99 and $75 with discount Anyway... any comment about Sordino Strings? Because I lost the opportunity to get it the last year but I wanted to get it... and I am thinking about it... Any comment is appreciated

  15. yes, missed that one last year re: pricing.......odd - this page says $99 https://www.sonokinetic.net/sale/ I'd suggest an accidental typo rather than an 8dio (or waves !)

  16. Alex , after listening to "yesterday project" , my first and Main suggestion would be to "back off" from the microphone. I think you are causing most of the problems you're trying to fix later with all of the plugins. The proximity effect of the mic seems to be taking a toll on the low end , and your breathing is nearly as loud as some of the vocal phrases. "S" and wind problems get a Lot worse when you are right on the mic . If I had to "fix" that track , I would cut it up and edit out all the noises instead of using FX , and it would Never be as good as getting a clean mix to start with. As far as EQ , I would suggest turning the track input echo on , open up the pro channel EQ and expand it out using the >> arrows and pressing the pin icon to lock it on the page. Sing some and "look" at the EQ module to see what's going on before ever actually recording. It's pretty easy to see the giant jump in frequency's on the graph when you are too close. Respectfully .. mark

  23. I have both Kontakt Player 6 and 7, and they show up just fine. In the plug-in browser, Kontakt 7 is listed as "Kontakt 7" and 6 is "Kontakt." So it can be done. My aging laptop also shows a black box in the Kontakt 7 UI which happens when your system doesn't support a high enough level of DirectX 3D. It has a separate nVidia GPU, but it's just too old. 'twould be nice if they had an OpenGL option, but they don't.

  29. Sonuscore has a lot of products that work like this. It started with their Origins series, which has two instruments running arps. And then The Orchestra and all its variants, Mallet Flux (made for NI), and Elysion. Finally they made Orchestrator for Opus. Under the name Dynamedian, they made Action Strings, Emotive Strings, and Action Strikes for NI

  31. This developer gets ridiculed for sales but trusts the end user with no gimmicky license schemes, affordable updates, more video presentations, frequent updates, and additional discounts on sales. My email folder has the same amount of sales from Waves. EQ31 and Total EQ gets some attention. He's not lazy in updating plugins.

  37. PA deals look like a marketing study to determine price inflection points for whatever they're selling. The Forever $29 could've been designed to pull in impulse buys for newer products ahead of their regularly scheduled price reductions. checking the price history for a plugin would be interesting (if it hasn't already been done).

  41. Download and install the freeware Acon Digital Multiply and you might change your mind about your old favorite being "best of its kind." There are many other freeware options available. Get the Kilohearts and Meldaproduction free bundles. The Meldaproduction one has MFlanger, which allows chorus settings, and the Kilohearts bundle has a chorus. Between them, you'll get over 50 new plug-ins to experiment with. The longer you cling to deprecated technology like 32-bit plug-ins, the more likely your favorite tools will stop working. At some point, you have to let it go.

  43. Hello Alex , welcome to the forum. If your distortion is coming from your vocal track , solo it with No plugins and listen for distortion. Check your level on the track and the master. Early in the mix , it shouldn't be louder than -6 db. I would also look at the EQ in case something is booming or spiking in a certain frequency. Add one plugin at a time and recheck your volumes and listen hard for distortion. Continue this and you might find the culprit. Unless one of the plugins has become problematic , it may just be too much gain added by the FX and will need to be addressed. (Gain Staging). This should be a starting point. Good luck , let us know what you find .. mark

  45. Ya, I am the firstborn; my parents' anniversary was in April, my birthday is in October. There isn't much family lore about that period except that Dad, an unsophisticated farm boy of 21, often alluded to the many things Mom taught him early on. I do know that she bought him his first ever alcoholic beverage on a date. For all I know, that drink may have been a crucial part of my origin story.
