MonsterStringsVST is a Free String virtual instrument that sounds great but is still lightweight in RAM usage. In this first version, Monster Strings has 13 Presets, divided into 2 main categories: ACOUSTIC and SYNTHESIZER. ACOUSTIC has 2 sub-categories, ENSEMBLE and SOLO. https://agushardiman.tv/monster-strings-a-good-free-string-plugin-with-small-ram-usage/4 points

The Pro Channel EQ is a pretty good EQ but it needs some updates to make it better. 1.Solo frequency bands (This will make it so much easier to hear what you need to eq in or out) 2.Brick wall EQ Slope for low and high cuts (The best way to completely cut off a frequency of a sound that you want to eliminate the 48 curve is cool but doesn't get everything and seeing that you can only use one EQ you have to use another third party EQ to do this action like Ozone or Fab Filter ) 3.The option to add more eq bands ( Some times I need more bands when doing subtractive EQ and run out of bands before I can finish removing what needs to be taken away and once again you only get one EQ to do this) 4.More than one EQ on a Pro Channel (requested before but hey why not ask again) I think these updates to the EQ will help alot of people out and they wont always have to reach out for third party EQ's to do these features. Please +1 the request for the Bakers to take a look at adding these things to the EQ and let us know if there is anything that you would like to add to the EQ.3 points

I married one too!! Ain't we lucky!! LOL!!! She has a baby grand in the former Formal Dinning Room. And a 64 key yammy portable in my studio (formerly a bed room). Her old upright is at her sister's house. We just didn't have to room. And that's not mentioning her guitars!! All acoustics.3 points

I married a musician. I may have "x" guitars but she has two pianos and a marimba. Either by tonnage or floor space, I will never catch up3 points

I found the factory library of AIR Music Structure 2 that I got for like $29 more useful than Kontakt 6's.2 points

Info here: https://www.spitfireaudio.com/instruments?is_on_promo=true Update: As I type this, the site is slooooow. They must be getting crushed. Or the new design is coughing up a hair-ball. I've tried to add something to my cart for a few mins, and haven't succeeded...just FYI2 points

Xperimenta Project, a KONTAKT sample developer that makes superb, detailed sample libraries is having a sale with up to 65% off. I highly recommend them. Everything I have of theirs is excellent. Their XVibe vibraphone library isn't on sale, but it's under $10 USD and it's awesome. Even their freebies are superb. Pick up their free version of the Preparato Piano, you'll be surprised at how good it is and that it's free. I think I'll be picking up that Harmonium -- it also contains a shruti box for under $10 USD on sale. Also, if you subscribe to their email, you'll get a code for an additional 5% off. UPDATE: I bought the Indian Harmonium. Very nice! - Indian Harmonium 9,99$ (reg. 29,99$, 65% off) - Preparato Piano 69,99$ (reg. 99,99$, 30% off) - Classica Double Bass 39,00$ (reg. 59,99$, 34% off) - XBass 9,99$ (reg. 19,99$, 55% off) - Preparato Double Bass 74,99$ (reg. 99,99$) - PF2 Piano 99,00$ (reg. 129,00$, -23% off) - Kantele 44,99$ (reg. 59,99$, -25% off) - Harpsichord 14,00$ (reg. 29,99$, 50% off) https://www.xperimentaproject.com/2 points

I dropped a quick word to the Spitfire folks via their chat feature, and the live agent told me they are aware, and their "enginners are working on it".2 points

That's a good point about what you're looking for and also a good pickup on the amps. When PA forgot how to do vouchers, I ended up getting a stack of guitar sims for about $10 or less each from a couple of other Devs instead, so now I really don't have much appetite for any more.. at least for now 🤣 Even now they've dropped the $25 voucher I'm still struggling to be inspired too. There's a couple of things I would've snapped up at today's prices previously, but I also bought alternatives now for them too! So while PA was forgetting how to reward loyalty, I've kind of forgotten how to buy anything from PA 🤣2 points

The factory library was getting a bit long in the tooth, it had a lot of useful bread and butter sounds but they had been eclipsed by more modern options so its good to see it getting an update. I have only had a quick look but it seems much improved.1 point

Info here: https://musicalsampling.com/barker-clarinet/ "Barker Clarinet is a true legato clarinet library performed by conductor and educator, Joshua Barker. Recorded at Orb Studios in Austin, TX – we aimed to create an agile, emotive clarinet. We recorded all of the performances with natural, progressive vibrato. In our view, this helps warm up the sound and expands the emotional range of the instrument. Each patch was produced to more uniquely address certain contexts. The Emotional patch includes a more subtle style of vibrato – fragile but confident. The Workhorse patch is an agile, mezzo-forte instrument – great for traditional, upbeat contexts. The Fat Lead was actually recorded in the same space as Sasaki Trumpet/Austin Saxes – initially intended as an energetic compliment to those two libraries. What we found is that it also serves as an excellent, emotional instrument for strong, dramatic contexts where you really want the clarinet to properly sing. Lastly, we included a Breaths patch – to help sell the performance with both short inhales and longer, subdued inhales with the clarinetist in the ready position."1 point

The .NKI file in my Kontakt Instruments folder (Singularis.nki, dated 2/29/16) worked with K5 and now with K6. It has no UI. I'd forgotten that. I like SampleTekk's Rain Piano Mk2 and Black Grand Mk2, and the INIL Choir just for fun. The deprecated PMI Börsendorfer 290 is pretty good, too. I had purchased the Rain Piano for Presence and SampleTekk was cool about giving me the Kontakt version for no additional charge when I asked about it. Good peeps!1 point

I have the traveler console and I can say after a few months that it’s a game changer if you want to control synths parameters or orchestration with a perfect size and also is well built (I normally use it with Logic Pro X, Photoshop and Premiere. As XBaker is saying, I watched a video in YouTube by CEO of Spitfire Audio (Christian Henson) and he was using it and talking really good about it so decided to give it a try. It is not cheap but is definitely worth it. The new version is much better because for orchestration the faders are closer now and it’s easier to control them at the same time. Here I share a discount of 40$: http://monogram.refr.cc/albertom1 point

The Friedman Buxom Betty was the last guitar amp I wanted to grab from PA. Not bad for $9.99 at all. Thank you @pseudopop!1 point

Yes, 21 samples is a tiny discrepancy that you will only ever hear as a phase error, but you definitely will hear it in the right circumstance. In my book, it's always best to have your record latency dialed in to the sample as a starting point so that when you get weirdness like PDC failures or parallel compression phasing you know it's not your hardware setup. That said, there are many unavoidable sources of latency and sync errors (especially for MIDI guys using hardware synths like me), and at some point you do have to ignore things that you can't hear (or control). But it's amazing what a little phase change can do to the stereo image or the attack sound of a layered/doubled part when one signal is consistently early or late relative to the other.1 point

Yes you need to put an instance of BBC Discover on each track - it is not multi timbral. There are key switches for the articulations in each instrument group though. I understand that the (paid for) Unify VST will allow you to combine instances of Discover but as I have not got this others would be better placed to advise1 point
