  1. Paul is totally legit. Look, he knows Hans Zimmer personally! Even brought him a Coke and seems pretty pleased about it. Meanwhile, Hans is busy explaining to the other guy that it's not his fault, Tina Guo just doesn't date nerds. The fellow wearing glasses with another pair hanging from his shirt didn't even have to ask.

  3. Use Toontrack Manager to update: Release notes for EZdrummer 3.0.1 2022-05-18 EZdrummer 3.0.1 is now available to download using the Product Manager or from the ‘My Products’ area in your Toontrack account. Please note that version 3.0.1 is required for the support of EZX expansion packs released from this point forward (Q2 2022). CHANGES General In the File menu, “Import EZdrummer 2 Project…” has been moved up to just below “Open Recent.” Added high-resolution graphics for more buttons, etc. Grooves Tab In Tap2Find, “Quantize” has been renamed to “Resolution” and a “Swing/Triplets” header has been added in the menu. Bandmate The text has changed in the main Bandmate drop zone to emphasize that audio files with distortion, for example, may not produce optimal results. “Swing/Triplet” was changed to “Swing/Triplets” in the Filters menu. BUG FIXES General Loading the plug-in in Cakewalk could cause a crash. Pop/Rock EZX was not shown with the new graphics with larger background. The ride in Americana EZX did not look right at 70% scale. When an EZX is loaded and is missing drum graphics, an alert is now shown to inform that the EZX needs to be updated or reinstalled. In REAPER on Windows, it should now be possible to drag MIDI from DAW tracks (by holding ctrl+alt) directly to the plug-in. In Studio One, it was not always possible to drag audio (of supported formats) from DAW tracks to the plug-in. (PreSonus Audioloop/Musicloop is still not supported.) Trying to load an EZX (or a project that uses that EZX) which has no drum graphics (and thus needs to be updated or reinstalled) should no longer cause a crash. Song Track Recording MIDI while having the grid editor open caused a crash. Drums Tab When previewing an instrument, the first hit would sometimes get the wrong pitch. Previewing hi-hats from another library would sometimes cause a crash. Grooves Tab The e-drum preset indicator was never shown on third-party MIDI folders (those that have been installed in the same location as Toontrack MIDI libraries). Grid Editor The Humanize on/off state was not saved in projects. The Humanize on/off state was reset when a different EZX was loaded. When Humanize is off, the previous bar is no longer used as template for velocities when notes are inserted. Bandmate Trying to load broken/empty/unsupported audio files should no longer cause crashes. Custom song parts are now handled better in the Bandmate. Using the Bandmate with Latin Percussion EZX loaded could cause crashes. Dropping a new groove on the Drums track while the browser was searching could cause crashes. Changing the playhead position with keyboard shortcuts only changed it graphically. Dragging the Bandmate output groove out from EZD3 (to the desktop, e.g.) and then trying to load another groove in the browser could cause the text “Loading groove…” to become stuck. E-Drum Settings CC values were not shown unless explicitly specified in the presets. Now all mapped CC values are shown. CC values could be written as keys when they had been edited. Opening the menu for an articulation under Mapping and then clicking on a different drum or switching between Key and Note Number could cause a crash. Standalone When the standalone is started, if the main window with its previous position and dimensions doesn’t fit on the screen, it is now moved and resized as necessary. On Windows on a display with a scale larger than 100%, parts of the window contents could be cut off and menus would open at wrong positions. On Windows, it was possible to launch more than one instance of the standalone. Installer On Windows, the standalone was installed in an unexpected directory on some localized systems in some circumstances. On Windows, the installer will now detect that the core library is not yet installed and display a reminder. Known issues in EZdrummer 3.0.1 2022-05-18 General – Mixer presets from EZdrummer 1 are not available in EZdrummer 3. – On Windows, if display scaling is set to a value above 100% and EZdrummer 3 is used in a DAW, dragging MIDI to the song track becomes difficult.* Mixcraft – Follow host is not aligning the EZD3 song track with the DAW timeline properly in Mixcraft.** *An offset causes the MIDI to not land on the Song track correctly. A workaround is to turn off High DPI mode in the DAW preferences, or set the Windows display scaling to 100%. **Acoustica reports that this issue is fixed in the next major version of Mixcraft. They hope to release Mixcraft 10 late this year. A beta version of Mixcraft 9 that fixes the issue is available at the following link. https://acoustica.com/mixcraft/support/beta

  4. The guitarist for this project made his out of a block of jeweler's rubber. I can get you more information/photos if you'd like. Making this sample library has me curious about adding a rubber bridge to a P bass, too, since adding some amount of muting to those is so common for certain styles.

  5. Would like to request better support for .vstpreset VST3 Presets. Having to manually add them everytime I add a plugin is very time consuming Workaround could be to have a utility to read the .vstpreset file and then add the preset to the registry as is currently the case. Thanks for this great software and for making it better with every new update

  9. Here is the process I've been using recently when installing Syntronik 2 content ... When installing a specific instrument, the location of samples and other content can be set during installation using these steps: In the IK Product Manager, go to the "Sounds" tab. Find the instrument to be installed and select "... More options" Select "Install to ..." Enter a directory path. Example: I created a root directory path for all Syntronik 2 on a 'samples' drive. When the path is entered and "select" button pushed, the download and installation starts. Before installing, the location of the installation files can be set using the IK Product Manager. I've been using the default location and periodically move the files to a USB back drive. The location can be changed using these steps: Press the preferences icon (gear/cog symbol ) right top of the window. Set the "Downloads Folder" Syntronik 2 fills the download location with many gigabytes of files which can be moved after installation Hope that's what your looking for. The explanation by "User 905133" should achieve similar results.

  10. I'd have done the same. I guess I got lucky, the first PACE'd plug-in I got was when Eventide were giving away free licenses for UltraChannel. Late enough in the iLok game that it has mostly worked well over the years. To their slight credit, they do seem to be trying to make it less of a hassle, with this being able to issue reset requests from iLok Manager. After waiting for iZotope to get the message, though, I just sent them a reset request on their support web form. When it comes to having to contact manufacturers for license resets, I had to reset my main DAW's Windows 10 installation, and wound up having to make license reset requests for WA Production and Soundspot licenses, which are both tied to the system in whatever way. Probably a key on the disk. You get a certain number of authorizations and then they don't allow any more. So on the hassle meter, it was about even. I doubt that WA or Soundspot allow deauthorizations either. I think the smoothest way to handle it (other than not using any licensing scheme at all) is done by Plugin Alliance. You can deauthorize even offline systems from their website. Easy as pie, no manual reset requests, and it holds you to 3 authorizations.

  11. The problem is that iLok, eLicenser, and maybe Waves do not just use the hardwired NICs. I installed a VPN on my machine and suddenly my eLicenser plugins did not work because the VPN installed a virtual NIC. I have also installed PCI network adapters in the past and that messed up iLok. From my perspective, NICs are too volitile to be used to identify a machine.

  12. Here's another link to add: https://reverb.com/news/the-rubber-bridge-guitars-taking-over-indie-music They're a pretty recent invention--just in the last few years--but have really taken off, used by artists like Bob Dylan, Jeff Tweedy of Wilco, Phoebe Bridgers, Madison Cunningham. And of course, Aaron Dessner played one in Taylor Swift's Folklore album (the track Invisible String, for example). At first I thought the guitar would end up having a pretty specialized sound, but it turned out way more versatile than I imagined. Being able to blend between a purely electric sound from the pickup to the mic'd acoustic sound adds a new dimension to the tone that none of our other guitar libraries have. One of my favorite sounds is running the pickup out an amp with spring reverb, and then mixing in the acoustic sound of the guitar--check out the "Warm Springs" factory preset for an example of that. It's sorta modeled after this Madison Cunningham performance. As you can hear, the rubber bridge guitar supports vocals really nicely, because it doesn't crowd the high frequencies like a bright steel string guitar sometimes tends to. And unlike typical acoustic guitars, the rubber bridge guitar sound is friendly to adding overdrive/distortion. The gold foil pickup installed in the guitar is what you'd use in an electric guitar, so it's very different than the piezo pickups you'd find in an acoustic guitar for adding the option of amplification. The effects chain in Evolution Rubber Bridge are set up so that the pickup signal runs through all the guitar pedals and amp/cab emulation, while the mic signal only goes through the rack effects.

  14. The rubber bridge guitar has exploded in popularity in the last few years, a new favorite in indie rock and folk music, even making notable appearances in pop music. Presenting Evolution Rubber Bridge. Extensively sampled using a nearly century old parlor guitar that was converted to a rubber bridge guitar and fitted with a Tokyo-style gold foil pickup. This hybrid acoustic/electric guitar includes both a stereo mic signal and a pickup signal that can be blended independently, offering a wide spectrum of inspirational tones. As part of our Evolution series, the sample library includes a built-in effects suite, flexible articulation mapping system, and a strumming pattern editor. If you've used any other Evolution libraries, you'll already be familiar with the interface and workflow. Evolution Rubber Bridge is normally $179 USD, but until May 31st you can pick up your copy at an introductory discount of $139. 19. Things that make you go hmmmm… It's a free product that's always been a free product, and yet, next to the button that reads "free license" is another button that reads, "free trial." Apparently they're anticipating the plugin user who's not fully ready to commit to downloading a free product and feels more comfortable downloading a free trial version before making a final decision.

  23. We are so extremely proud to be able to bring this newest release to you, packed with so many things, we don’t even know where to start from! Crescent is our most ambitious project to date in so many ways - first of all, it’s our first orchestral library, secondly, we’re introducing a full-blown polyphonic legato script and third, after you try True Panning, using the traditional ‘Stereo Panning’ to place strings just becomes completely obsolete! But let’s start from the beginning! 99 GBP https://www.audiobrewers.com/shop/p/crescent-cellos

  25. That bit only works if you can log on and perform the iLok activations from the currently activated machine. If the machine ID with the activations is inaccessible (crashed, lost, stolen, upgraded or anything that could have changed the internal machine ID) for any reason, you cannot do it remotely. Your licenses will remain locked to the ghosted machine ID, until the publisher or ILok resets them.

  30. AFAIK, there is no way to connect the controller to the Focusrite Scarlett Solo because the audio interface does not have a MIDI input. The good news is, from a latency perspective, it does not matter whether MIDI is connected directly via USB or to an audio interface that also supports MIDI connections. Latency is strictly an audio problem. "MIDI latency" or the time it takes between pressing a key on the keyboard and hearing sound is all about the buffering in the DAW to keep everything in sync (plug-in delay compensation) and playback buffers in the audio driver (along with a relatively tiny safety buffer in the interface hardware itself). The time it takes for MIDI data to get from the keyboard to the DAW is nothing compared to the audio buffering necessary for monitoring audio from the DAW. To keep "MIDI latency" low, record MIDI as early as possible during project development, avoid plug-ins requiring large lookahead buffers when recording and keep the audio driver buffer as low as possible.

  32. Short answer: turn everything down. You're right, the doubler is effectively adding two more tracks, which are summing with the main vocal. And because they are essentially copies of the main vocal, they're going to experience constructive interference, meaning a bigger jump in peak values than you might expect. You probably won't hear any distortion, because you're working with floating-point data and that means there's no clipping even when you go into the red. However, it doesn't mean distortion (specifically digital overs, the nastiest-sounding kind of distortion) won't haunt you later because the real world isn't floating-point. This is even more likely if you end up exporting to MP3. Just pull back all the vocal tracks to give yourself 8-12 dB of headroom. Easiest way to do that is to group them and use the Gain slider. If you have compression on the vocal tracks, you'll have to go back and tweak the threshold setting, lowering it by the same amount.

  41. 1. Both are great drummers!!! 2. Again, both are great, but I do prefer Howe's style. 3. Hagar. But DLR has his moments. And when he does he's are pretty damn good!! 4. I agree with you on this one. But I have seen Eric and when he played Wonderful Tonight, hair on the back of my neck was standing on end!! It really was that emotional. 5. Green 6. Johnson. Back in Black maybe the best rnr album of all time. After that to me it went downhill. Scott has a style that's never been matched. Flame away!!

  44. Sounds good. I prefer pork ribs to beef but otherwise I'm not too picky about BBQ otherwise. I do also gift nicely if you do invite me to other types of gatherings and I have some good stories, so you won't be disappointed. That too. I have to work on the big flat top a bit, but I cleaned, prepped, and used the regular grill already so come on over. For those that partake in alcoholic beverages we also have a huge selection of liquor and mixers. Maybe this could be the top tier in a future Group Buy
