  1. It's against forum policy to post any form of pirate software or links and codes that should only be available to magazine subscribers. Thanks @Starship Krupa

  6. So I won’t be much help because I tried to buy this forgetting I already got it last round in 2020 when it was also $19 haha. But I’ll answer it this way. I have not regretted buying any of the ssl plugins at $19 as all sound amazing.

  8. 🤣 Interviewer: Can you explain Jazz? Yogi: I can't, but I will. 90% of all Jazz is half improvisation. The other half is the part people play while others are playing something they never played with anyone who played that part. So if you play the wrong part, its right. If you play the right part, it might be right if you play it wrong enough. But if you play it too right, it's wrong. Interviewer: I don't understand. Yogi: Anyone who understands Jazz knows that you can't understand it. It's too complicated. That's what's so simple about it. Interviewer: Do you understand it? Yogi: No. That's why I can explain it. If I understood it, I wouldn't know anything about it. Interviewer: Are there any great Jazz players alive today? Yogi: No. All the great Jazz players alive today are dead. Except for the ones that are still alive. But so many of them are dead, that the ones that are still alive are dying to be like the ones that are dead. Interviewer: What is syncopation? Yogi: That's when the note that you should hear now happens either before or after you hear it. In Jazz, you don't hear notes when they happen because that would be some other type of music. Other types of music can be Jazz, but only if they're the same as something different from those other kinds. Interviewer: Now I really don't understand. Yogi: I haven't taught you enough for you to not understand Jazz that well.

  14. It's good. Different animal than Sat-X. If you have it, put it before the SSL Channel Strip as that doesn't emulate the input transformers (at least I don't think so as the input gain doesn't introduce harmonics) and Bob's yer uncle. Wide range of very usable saturation.

  15. Some peeps seem to be hung up on the size of the UDS (Ultra Deep Sampled) instruments. A normally sampled version, significantly smaller (equivalent to other companies typical sampled VIs), is available of each of those instruments. The UDS versions are meant for true professionals, which does NOT describe me.

  16. In college my friends and i were in seattle. We drove by a sign advertising a strip joint. It said, "home of 100 strippers, 99 beautiful ones and one ugly one" hahah. Your "mostly never a dud" comment reminded me of that haha.

  21. Awesome FREE VST3 amp sim (they also have a .pkg so I think they have an AU file as well) Works especially well with external IRs This thing flew under the radar last year but it seriously rules! Great palm mute detail. Download link is on the bottom of the Patreon page. Other freebies on the site, too! https://www.patreon.com/posts/diode-amplifier-52038605

  22. I'm a pro bass player, and I have to say: IT'S AWESOME! Damn, I've produced tracks here at my house where the quick demo done with Modo sounded so good, and realistic, I never even bothered redoing with a real bass. R

  26. Through February 1, IK is offering MODO BASS for only $/€79.99. This is the lowest price ever on IK's physically modeled bass virtual instrument. Give MODO BASS a try and hear for yourself. You can download the demo here. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?id=MODOMonthBASS2022

  28. dang, this one might just be irresistible! I've been so good lately too... ETA: It is a little wonky that there is no way to add my previous purchases to my SSL account. I know they're attached to iLok, but still...

  30. Here's an updated version of CSMultiCompander called... CSMultiCompanderV2! The same functionality is available, but it uses a Spline Curve instead of the sliders... should be more intuitive. It's a different component than the original version, so any previous presets you've saved won't apply to this one. It's also effectively a replacement for CSResponseCurve since it contains the same functionality (better, actually... fixed some minor issues) When it's in Velocity adjustment mode, hitting keys on your Midi device will display an indicator of the velocity in the window (just for @ZincT 😁) Get it here.

  34. This one is good! I got it back in 2020 and DO use it. I haven't used IK's much since I just got it in last year's Group Buy. But I'm a saturator collector. For reference, my 2 most used saturators are Kush's Omega TWK and Nembrini's Lofi. Next in line would be the SSL. (At least that's how they rate these days.) But different flavors for all the them.

  40. I call it Goto Bass as I use it on almost everything. I just wish they would add an upright/double bass; then I wouldn't need anything else. I guess the modelling engine isn't really designed for acoustic instruments though.

  42. Luftrum creates nice presets. They have a short intro on a new preset pack for Spire which is listed as pay what you want - minimum $5. The samples sound like this is yet another solid synth preset pack. But $5 is hard to beat! https://www.luftrum.com/synthcity/?mc_cid=4058fa1f29&mc_eid=fc813b37dc

  43. I like changing the instrument parameters to change the sounds; seems far more "intuitive" than selecting randomly named bass presets. As for cost, I got mine "free." I had tried to get ST3 mid-2020 but was told by IK it hadn't been available for a long time (since ST4 came out). Then a few months later, TS2 MAX was on sale and it had ST3!!!!! So I got that and a whole bunch of other "freebies," one of which was MODO BASS! 🙂

  46. That's on me, I named this promo. Then I thought about this and the "Get Your Tron On" (also my handiwork) aren't great for our translators so I have to apologize to them. In Spanish I believe the SampleTron 2 promo essentially became "Light your Tron on fire" or at best "Turn on your Tron" which is a little better.
